I absolutely adored this book and audiobook. I've read a lot of Jenn McKinlay over the years and am so happy that she is branching out to romance/romcoms. This was so magical, the narrator was fabulous and the characters were fun! Keep writing them, Jenn! Highly recommend!

This book was very boring and I kind of drifted off half way through the book. It felt like I was thrown into something that I was supposed to already know everything and everyone. It just wasn't my favorite.

Claire is on the cusp of an engagement that would set her life down a very certain path when all of the sudden she decides to take a different route. A man who has been on the perimeter of her life now becomes a main character as Sam Carpenter a reporter who has written about her and her family helps her escape and this book is their adventure.

I love all those road trip adventure books, but only every so often. It was fun to combine that sub genre with a little Christmas cheer. I think what helped this book the most was their lack of funds and the inability to get them, so forced some creativity for them to get to their destination. Of course, this was an easy enemies to lovers romance where I felt like the enemies part was believable and their romance wasn't too quick as they had some history leading into this adventure.

This was a great audiobook read while driving during the lead-up to the holidays and then while decorating the house.

It Happened One Christmas Eve by Jenn McKinlay is book three in her Museum of Literature series. I picked this one up solely on the cute cover. It definitely reminded me of those cute holiday movies on Lifetime./ Hallmark, however, instead of a movie we got a trailer. . Sadly, this was short, really short. I wanted MORE!! More of that witty banter. Other than the length being so short, it was a quick cozy romantic Christmas read. So if you’re looking for a quick cute Holiday read this one is definitely for you. Don’t go in expecting anything more than a quick cute read. No real depth but still cute.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

This was a fun read to get that Christmas feel in the middle of summer. I really enjoyed the story and romance. I will definitely be giving the rest of the series a chance.

Short and sweet, but so cute. I haven't read any of the others in this series but after listening to this audiobook I definitely am going to check out the rest of the series. It was fluffy and sweet, and definitely made me wish I was reading it in December, instead of May. It was predictable, and nothing really stood out about the characters to me, but it wasn't bad. I could see me recommending this to friends who read romance and are looking for a quick fluffy read between heavier reads.

Claire isn’t really in love with the man she’s about to get engaged to, so instead of saying yes, she jumps in the horse and carriage along with Santa delivering her engagement ring, and escapes. Sam is a reporter who convinced his friend to let him step in as Santa and suddenly finds himself on an adventure with Claire. She tells him she will grant him an exclusive interview if he gets her to her cottage in Maine by Christmas Eve and the two of them set off on an adventure.

This short novella is filled with romance and adventure. This wild ride made for a fun and entertaining listen and was perfect to listen to in one day. It was like a quick sweet Hallmark movie with minimal conflict and so much sweetness. Sara Young was so easy to listen to as she narrated this audiobook and made the story so much fun.

When I got this audiobook, I didn’t realize it was the third in the series. I’m not sure how much context I was missing without reading the first two books, but I still found it to be enjoyable.

Thanks to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the advance copy.

Such a cute novella! I really enjoyed the whole set of these novellas and this one was all the gooey feels. The Santa suit & the runaway bride was soo much fun. It oozed chemistry and I was so excited when Claire and Sam escaped to Maine. Perfect book to curl up and listen to while doing a puzzle during the holidays

This was my first Jenn McKinlay's book. This is the third novella in the Museum of Literature Romance Series. Claire and Sam's story is sweet, and cute. The story is engaging, and heartwarming. Great narration from Sara Young. This is a great Christmas Romance. I received a copy of this book through NetGalley, a Dreamscape Media Audio production, for an honest review.

It Happened One Christmas Eve is a cute holiday romance read that's perfect for the holidays. It's nothing groundbreaking, but when it comes to holiday reads, I love settling into the cozy feel of a warm and fuzzy book, and this definitely has that aspect. I enjoyed it snuggled under a blanket with candles lit. If you're looking for a good holiday read then this definitely fits the bill.

I received a copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest and fair review.

This was the perfect Christmas cozy romance to listen to while baking cookies. Claire MacIntosh is supposed to be getting engaged to her mother's choice of grooms, but instead takes off in a carriage with Santa who actually is holding the engagement ring. Through a series of misadventures of leaving New York bound for a cabin in Maine, these two mismatched people fall in love. It was just what I expected when requested and was the perfect audiobook to listen to at the Holidays.

This was a really cute Christmas romance. I really enjoyed the characters and thought they made a great match. My only complaint is that this novella was too short and I think it would have been better if it had more meat to it, because the climax felt very anti-climatic. Overall though I enjoyed this short story.

Of these novellas that have released, this is my favorite. I really liked the romance and the adventure they had even though it was a love-a-first-site that typically lack believability. Jenn's voice is always a fun one to go to especially in an audiobook I can devour while doing laundry.
Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for the advanced listening copy.

This was a super cute Christmas romance. I just wish it had been longer so we could have more of the mishaps and witty dialogue that I love from Jenn McKinlay. I also thought that the disagreement that caused their break-up wasn't as relationship ending as it turned out to be. Otherwise, a good Christmas story

I have truly enjoyed Jenn McKinlay's Museum series of novellas! I have listened to all three as audiobooks and they're short listens and fabulous stories! I can't pick a favorite, because they're all so good. In It Happened One Christmas Eve, we follow Claire, the director of the Museum of Literature, as she breaks away from a proposal that she didn't want. As with the others in this series, I truly enjoyed listening to the narrator who made the listening experience fun! I hope to see more of these in the future!

3.5 Rounded Up.

I received an audio reviewer copy of It Happened One Christmas Eve by Jenn McKinlay from the publisher Dreamscape Media from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

What It’s About: Claire Macintosh has always wanted a life of independence and her socialite mother cannot handle it, however Claire feels forced to accept an arranged marriage when her mother threatens to stop supporting her beloved museum of literature. On the night of the impending proposal, she decides she just cannot do it and hijacks the Santa carriage that is meant to deliver her ring. Except the Santa onboard is a journalist trying to get his scoop. From there chaos ensues.

What I Loved: This book really invokes some of the vibes of classic Hollywood. Two unlikely characters forced together and on a journey where everything goes wrong and love happens. It's fun! I also liked the chemistry in this book, I totally bought that these two were connected and meant to be.

What I didn’t like so much: It's got a little of cheese and there are definitely some caricatures here. Still I'd say overall a lot of fun.

Who Should Read It: People who love unlikely (literal) journeys thrown in with their romances. People who want a more unique Christmas romance.

Summary: Two unlikely travel mates are on a journey to Maine, things go awry and it's a wild time.

I very much loved this sweet story. It was exactly what I needed to get into the Christmas spirit this year, when I was struggling so much with it. Claire and Sam had such a crazy Christmas Eve, it was almost not at all believable, but I couldn't help falling in love with both of them.
