I loved reading the Night Swim, so I was super excited to see a second book! The main character, Rachel, is a podcaster who became more famous then she ever imagined after she helped a man overturn his guilty verdict. The book begins shortly after Night Swim ends when Rachel is called to go to Florida to help with a different case. I love that books are including podcasters and influencers because they are such a part of society now. I recommend Dark Corners, and am always excited to see a new Megan Goldin!

This book had a unique plot, and the pace was quick which made it easy to follow the story. I enjoyed this book as it was creepy, engaging, and I liked the element of romance in it. There were some twists that were well executed . Overall, I liked Night Swim better. This book included too many details about influencers that made it less engaging for me.

I really enjoyed Dark Corners by Megan Goldin, the follow-up to The Night Swim. The book was an interesting take on how involved one can become within a crime, social media, and what comes with it. The author does a great job in making you feel a part of the story. There was also a romance subplot which I didn't expect but enjoyed. Hoping Megan continues this series as I enjoy the characters and the podcast element. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the copy in exchange for an honest review.

Rachel Krall is always a fun and interesting character to follow around. The true-crime podcast aspect really allows her to dig into her detective side, and i always love seeing how her brain works and she everything pieces together.
I didnโt love this one as much as The Night Swim, but I still greatly enjoyed it. Megan Goldinโs writing is always easy for me to read, and I find myself consistently not wanting to put their books down. Canโt wait for the next one!

Rachel Krall is back, and I couldn't be more happy with it! This is how you do a podcast based thriller the right way. I loved that we get Rachel in her personal life and how she's interacting with the world along with how she navigates her work life - AND - we get how they intersect. This thriller dives into the dark corners of social media, and how the lives of influencers are formed. The book shows how false the persona can be in that life. That glitz and glamour is contrasted with the dark corners of humanity and the fringes of society, those people who are rejected and ignored. I LOVED what Megan Goldin did with this stark reality of each side of things. The multimedia elements and the twists, turns, and connections were sublime. I don't want to spoil anything, but I will say that this one was incredibly convoluted and well done. Loved it!

I want more Rachel Krall! Dark Corners was a fun and thrilling follow up and I enjoyed seeing more of Rachel Krall's personal life.

Dark Corners continues the story of Megan Goldin's podcaster, Rachel Krall, who is coming to terms with her newly found fame while trying to maintain her anonymity. When a well-known influencer is missing from a social media conference and Rachel is flown to Daytona by the FBI to meet with a prisoner she knows two things: 1 this isn't a coincidence and 2. these events are connected and would also make for a great podcast. When FBI Agent Joe Martinez divulges the prisoner, Terrence Bailey, is due for release but suspected as being a serial killer, asked to see Rachel specifically, she knows all is not as it seems. Terrence warns her the most dangerous monster is the one who in plain sight. How do a seemingly affable rideshare driver, a prisoner and a social media influencer all tie together? Pick up Goldin's latest fast-paced thriller and find out. I really enjoyed the pace, setting and twists of Dark Corners, Fans of Goldin will enjoy the continuation of Rachel's story and I hope to see more.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

I absolutely adored this book. I hadn't realized it was a continuation of sorts from Night Swim and was elated when I opened the book and found out! Night Swim was phenomenal, and this book was just as great. Out of all the books I've read so far this one is the one that's stayed with me the most. It had an eerie unsettling vibe that really stuck with me.

๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ก๐๐ฅ๐ฆ is the much anticipated sequel to ๐ก๐๐๐๐ง ๐ฆ๐ช๐๐ following podcaster Rachel Krall. If you havenโt read ๐ก๐๐๐๐ง ๐ฆ๐ช๐๐ I highly encourage it - definitely a 5โญ๏ธ thriller.

Although this one didnโt have the same premise as ๐ก๐๐๐๐ง ๐ฆ๐ช๐๐ I still enjoyed it. With the storyline being an active investigation I understood why it couldnโt follow its predecessors theme. But I did miss the podcast theme throughout the chapters. I love Rachelโs character so it was great to jump back into her world. I think she deserves more books.

I highly recommend reading both of these. Step into Rachelโs world ๐๐๐ฝ

Ooooh man, was I excited to see Goldin was continuing Rachelโs story with a follow-up to โThe Night Swim,โ because I absolutely loved that book. But even though I think โDark Cornersโ wasnโt the best follow-up, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. One main thing I didnโt love was the fact that Rachel seemed so different in this book, compared to the last. Sheโs not unlikeable overall, but there were parts in this book where she definitely was. BUT outside of that, it kept me turning the page and I really liked the storyline. I love Goldinโs writing and her storytelling always keeps me on the edge of my seat!

This was solid! I definitely liked the first one more, though. It got a bit confusing with all the characters but I thought it was brought together well. The audiobooks for these are PHENOMENAL!!

Thank you NetGalley and St Martins Press for providing me with an ARC.
I really enjoyed this one. Since it is the second book featuring Rachel Krall it is hard not to draw comparisons to The Night Swim. I found this to be a much more successful novel especially with regard to the pacing of the story. This one had a tempo which definitely enhanced the story line. The three points of view to the story were all clear and not at all confusing as can sometimes be the case. I also really enjoyed the setting of the novel. A big win for readers.

I read this book and gave it 4 stars on Goodreads, but to be perfectly honest I donโt remember enough of the book to speak to it now. I must have enjoyed it based on my rating and am very sorry I didnโt review it earlier due to a family illness that turned my world upside down for the past 2 months. My apologies.

So I loved The Night Swim and very excited for this book. Over all it was a solid book. I think it missed the mark a little but it could be because The Night Swim was one of my all time favorite books. But I do recommend this!

The premise of Dark Corners is what caught my attention coupled with the fact that I enjoyed the Night Swim. It actually took me a while to get into the book. I like how, at a point, it started flipping back and forth between active storyline and what seemed to be podcast script. I predicted most of the ending except one somewhat major reveal. Average read for me, but would still recommend to others!
A very delayed read for me, but thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was an interesting read.
The whole True Crime Podcaster turned investigator thing kept me interested for a bit but then it just didnโt hook me. Maybe it was switching between the audiobook and the ebook?
I will keep an eye out for other books by Megan Goldin.
Audiobook:
Multicast Narration by Samantha Desz & January LaVoy
This was a unique experience. I havenโt listened to an audiobook that incorporated music and a multi cast narration. It was interesting. Mixed feelings about it.
I received a complimentary ARC of this book from NetGalley on behalf of the Publisher and was under no obligation to post a favorable review.

I was completely sucked in by The Night Swim so I was super excited to see Dark Corners come out in the same universe. I'm a big fan of podcast embedded stories, being a true crime junkie. This was exactly the type of book I was looking for. I hope to see more of Rachel Krall in the future. This book was tense, compelling and hard to put down!

I adored The Night Swim so this was a given that I needed to read this sequel. I think in certain respects this was better or equal to The Night Swim. The plot was really interesting and I found myself flying through this book to see what Rachel would discover.
However, I did end up scoring it one star lower than the Night Swim for two reasons. The story was a bit more linear than I was expecting. I kept waiting for a big reveal to happen and it really never came. Also, I found this lacked the amount of podcast content that I have come to expect from the first book. Since, we follow a podcaster, I would have preferred to see more.
I still had a great time with this book and can't wait to see what Rachel gets up to next if there is another sequel in the works.
**Read an ARC from Netgalley Rating : 4 Stars

Megan Goldenย is back with her second book in the Rachel Krall series. This book can be read as a standalone, but you may want to check out the fist book anyway. It's a great mystery/ thriller that will leave you on the edge of your seat. When the FBI summons Rachel to talk to an inmate, Rachel's visit does not go as planned. The final word from the inmate seems to be threatening Rachel, and an FBI agentย believes that Rachel's life is in danger. This does not stop Rachel, though as she is determined to get to the bottom of things. Rachel dives deep into the influencer world to uncover the truth. If you are looking for a good mystery/thriller definitely pick this one up.

First things first: I love Megan Goldin. She will always be an autopsy author to me. This book wasn't nearly as strong as The Night Swim but it did keep me engaged. I think this may be a situation where "it's not you, it's me". I wasn't really the demographic for this as I am not interested in Creator Culture. The plot was decent despite my disinterest regarding influencers.
