This is an exceptional book. It is written like journal entries which works so well. You need to go into this book with an open mind as it deals with some difficult topics

Love books like this and devoured this one. Found it so interesting but would of liked more information on the Suppliments and herbs used in healing.

I struggled to get into this book initially, maybe I was expecting more of a story than a documentary, with lots of medical appointments, terminology and understanding the whole health system.

However, I persevered as I had been sent it for a NetGalley review and it did get better, if only slightly.

I've read a number of books about surviving when that didn't appear to be an options. This is the first book where the person was planning on going to Switzerland where assisted suicide is legal. That's what can happen when everyday is lived in excruciating pain and the doctors can do nothing more than continue adding pain medications to the treatment plan.

But when a daughter steps in and insists her other see a different type healer, things change. Throughout her journey to find the one holistic healer who ends the madness, she finds caring and knowledgeable healers who want nothing more than to help.

This is the story of one such journey where a mother wants to end her painful life, a daughter refuses to give up, and holistic healers work together to save a woman in pain.

The author found herself in a crisis - taking prescribed medications that did nothing to heal her. She describes her path to removing these medications from her life, the withdrawl she went through, and how she because clean. An almost 5 star book. But what was really frustrating for me...she doesn't mention the herbs/supplements she used in order to help boost her system during withdrawls. This is really important information! She includes all the "healers" (accessible thru books, youtube, etc) that restored her spirit. and helped her along the way. But, the lack of information on the supplements/vitamins was disappointing.
