This was my first read from this author. The Deja Glitch was all in all a good read but at times it fell flat for me.

I’ve never read a romance quite like this one before so it was definitely a new romance genre for me.

Gemma just had me pulling my hair out at times and then she had me going “awww” at other times. A lot of whiplash if I’m being honest.

I will definitely be checking more from this author as one book doesn’t tell the whole story of an author! ❤️

Gemma and Jack are stuck in a time loop. Except, while Jack has spent the last five months(!!) reliving the same day again and again, the audience gets clued into Gemma's perspective on The Day it May Finally End. Jack has a theory on what he has to do to finally end this curse - but is Gemma game to help? Or will he have to try again tomorrow?

Ah yes, the time loop romance... I've been waiting to find THE perfect, unhinged, time loop romcom, and this one came pretty close except for one key thing: Why don't we get MORE loops?? While I appreciated the ways that Holly James subverted expectations (Gemma's POV rather than Jack's, Jack attempting to get Gemma to fall for him in a day after falling for her over the course of months), there ended up being a LOT going on plot-wise that sacrificed depth. Another aspect of the story centers on Gemma's relationship with her dad, and that really frustrated me despite the attempted positive resolution that James pushed for.

In all, this isn't the worst time loop romance I've read - in fact, there was a lot I enjoyed! But it still isn't THe One.

The Deja Glitch is such a fun, romantic ride of a book with a time loop twist. Main character Jack is stuck in a time looping Thursday. He needs Gemma to fall in love with him in that time, but Gemma doesn't remember him. Each repeating day it all starts over again. The story is so smart and has a wonderful sentimental flare to it. The characters and story were very engaging. I generally struggle with time look tropes as I generally get bored or just confused overall. Thanks to James' writing, I had no trouble at all. I even looked forward to the repeating next day and see the continuing challenges Jack faced. Overall, a solid contemporary romance read. This is definitely one I will add to our library collection.

The best description I can give of the premise is Groundhog Day but from Rita's perspective. I enjoyed going along for the ride with Gemma as she tried to wrap her head around what Jack was telling her. I thought the feelings of deja vu that Gemma experiences as she relives the day lent a nice touch, and also makes you think back to the times that you have had that feeling. I liked that there were some great elements to the story outside of the time loop and romance that gave it a well-rounded feel. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good contemporary romance, Groundhog Day, and family dynamics thrown in for good measure.

I LOVED this book. The premise felt uncommon: woman starts day, only to find she's relived this day over 100 times woth a guy named Jack, who thinks they're basically in love. Obviously he's crazy, right?? It's 'Groundhog Day' meets romance novel and I am here for it.
I thought the writing was witty and the pacing was great - always something going on, but circling back around to the fact that they're reliving the day. I was suuuuper invested in Gemma + Jack right off the bat, and the plot + dialogue completely drew me in.

The Deja Glitch is an easy read that has a unique premise. As a reader who is very literal and struggles with science fiction and fantasy, this book did make my brain cramp at times. LOL.

I just had to tell myself to just enjoy the story and not worry about the time travel element. I would consider this a beach read and a nice distraction from life.

This book was very cute. It reminded me of a chick flick I would love and watch repeatedly. A little magical, a little far fetched, but super adorable. Jack and Gemma are fated for each other, Gemma just don’t know it. This is a quick read detailing a long day with Groundhog Day inspiration. No spice but romantic and sweet. Lots of classic tropes.

This is such a cute time loop love story in the spirit of Groundhog Day. I loved the character of Jack and the chemistry he has with Gemma. I also enjoyed that he could remember every single day and had to get Gemma, who didn't remember anything, to fall in love with him to break the pattern. The sweetness, the humor, the uncool ex-boyfriend, and the gorgeous possible girlfriend all contribute the fun vibe of this adorable romcom. The audiobook is a joy to listen to and narrated by Kristen DiMercurio and Dan Bittner.

This was a cute romance that I read super quick. Cute characters that I loved rooting for, great supporting characters that need their own book, and a plot that keeps you intrigued.
However, I never really felt wholeheartedly invested in the story. After I finished I just thought it was okay. Maybe if we had gotten Jacks side of the story every other chapter?? I’m not sure why I just never 100% felt like I connected. Still a cute read but not my absolute favorite.

This is actually my first time loop romance, and my first by this author. The premise sounded interesting and unique and I was super excited to read it. Unfortunately, it fell a little flat for me. I really was not a huge fan of Gemma. She was a little extreme in her reactions, and self absorbed. I kind of thought this would be more time loop-y, and it really wasn’t – it’s from Gemma’s POV, and it’s Jack who has been stuck living the same day over and over. So we just get one day. A very long day. A very full, very busy day. I wouldn’t have minded a little repetitiveness from Gemma’s side if it meant we got a little more development/backstory between the two. What really rubbed me the wrong way was the message that you should have a relationship with your family no matter what. And the cartoonishly villainous villains. Anyway. As always, I hate that I didn’t love this, huge kudos to the author for writing it, I see several of my friends love it, so I hope more people read and love it. Just not for me.

The Deja Glitch is an adorable, funny, sensitive story with lots of charm and romance. Its unique plot makes the reader want to plow through the story to find out how it’s going to end while cheering on our two main characters.

Gemma Peters is a radio producer trying to succeed without anyone’s help, (her father being a god in the music business). Although she pretends everything is always fine, she can’t forgive her father for his past mistakes as she grew up as well as choosing her ex-boyfriend, who she thought was the love of her life over her.

Now her brother is flying in to meet with Gemma and her father. Gemma never sees her father alone. He’s having a difficult time getting there. Gemma has a very routine oriented life. Work, seeing her best friend Lila, a social media guru and the true love of her life, Rex (her dog).

Until one night…

She meets a stranger at Lila’s birthday party and ends up kissing him not knowing who he is or where he came from.

Until the next day…

When she literally bumps into said mystery man (Jack) in a coffee shop and he spills coffee all over her favorite shirt. They talk. It’s odd, he seems to know so much about her. Have they met before?

Then he explains what’s happening…

Gemma finds out that she and Jack have for some reason been living the same day over and over again unbeknownst to her. She thinks Jack is crazy, (cute) but crazy. But he does seem to know what her every move will be. So, Jack takes her to someone who has been trying to help him through this. A scientist who tries to explain this loop they are in. But Gemma has one question. If this is true, why hasn’t she ever been able to remember Jack from the night before? He explains that this has been the farthest he’s ever gotten to have her remember him. Why she asks?

The kiss last night.

And Jack has a theory. He believes if he and Gemma fall in love, the loop will be broken, and they will go back to normal. Although she’s not sure if this is really a trick or if it will help her to getting her life back, she decides to try it Jack’s way. And they begin to spend the day together with all types of crazy obstacles, some Jack knows about and others which just seem to come out of the blue. Is it possible two people can fall in love so quickly without knowing anything about each other?

Well, in this charming, sweet story we will certainly find out. And perhaps what they learn about each other and themselves will serve as the basis for a new beginning. The Deja Glitch is an adorable story with charm and romance. Oh, did I already say that?

The Déjà Glitch was a cute love story that was easily devoured in a day. The best way to describe this one is if 50 First Dates had a kid with Groundhog Day. You have a guy named Jack who is in a perpetual time loop and has to convince a girl named Gemma to fall in love with him in a day, otherwise the same day gets repeated over and over again. This goes on for 147 days with a few attempts at a date in between, but it hasn't been enough yet to convince Gemma that she's in love with Jack. So he has a new theory that sets this story into motion.

All I've gotta say is if my day consisted of everything Gemma went through I'd be sleeping for days afterwards. She hops from place to place and it theoretically seems impossible, especially for the story's location of Los Angeles! Otherwise, this was a cute story that delved into not only finding love in a short amount of time, but having an opportunity to change the course of life by mending relationships and taking on opportunities the character may not have opted for on a mundane day.

Throughout the story I kept thinking how cute it would be to have a tag along through Jack's POV, but that request was granted at the end of the story and I was completely satisfied! This is now one of my favorite rom coms from this year and I'm so happy to have given this book a chance!

I am always a sucker for a good time loop plot and this one did not disappoint! Jack and Gemma are fabulous characters trying to find a way out of the Thursday they keep reliving. Jack is the first to realize that they are reliving this day over and over again and he comes up with a plan to make Gemma realize that they are stuck in a time loop. But will it work? And if it does work can they work together to find a way to get to Friday or will they have to start all over again?

This book was not just about the romance of Jack and Gemma, it was about friendship, family and taking risks in life. The characters development was superb, I truly felt I knew Jack and Gemma by the end and was fully rooting for them to make it work. The plot twists were fun and unexpected.

The plot kept me interested throughout even though at times the romance feels a bit forced Holly James finds a way to make it believable that you could completely fall in love with a stranger in one day. This is a lighthearted romance that fans of closed door romances would enjoy.

I love a time-loop premise, even if it feels claustrophobic sometimes. The bones are great, but the chemistry... didn't quite feel it here. Very intriguing storyline though.

The thing about books in the time-travel or time-bending genre is that they almost always focus on the logistical time warp element. But this beautiful gem treats it more like magical realism and effing RUNS with it in the best way!

Seriously, this book is so, so good.

It has everything I love: a time loop, romance (though fairly clean), personal development, estranged familial relationships, and chaos. It's deliciously woven together to keep you guessing and to keep you wanting more. Because the time loop was just generally accepted as true -- yes, there's a scene to try to explain it -- I never felt like I knew 100% for sure what was going to happen next. Mad props to Holly for the complexity and interconnectedness of everything!

The characters are brilliant and lovely, the pacing is perfect, the premise is *chef's kiss*

I think little champagne bubbles of happiness will be effervescing within me for a while after reading this book.

I really really liked this book. The characters were so well written and I loved seeing how things played out between the two main characters.

The Deja Glitch is a super cute time loop romance where HE falls first. I really enjoyed watching Jack & Gemma's relationship build over time but also all in one day if that makes sense. There were a couple spots that felt a bit slow but are easy to power through. Side note: the cover is SO lovely and fits the story nicely.

I loved this so much!! This was the cutest romcom I've read in a while. It takes place over a a 24 hour day and it does feel like the longest day ever but it's a page turner! I loved the characters and everything they added to the overall plot, all the family drama in addition to the time loop and romance. It was such a fun read!

The Déjà Glitch is a refreshing take on the time loop trope, in which the main character, Gemma, is the one who is unaware she has been stuck in the same day for 147 days. At her best friend Lila's birthday party, she meets Jack, who seems to know her better than anyone who just met her should. After a parting goodnight kiss and a fervent plea to please remember him, Gemma wakes the following morning with the vaguest sense that she's been here once before. On her morning coffee run, she literally runs into Jack (RIP favorite shirt), and is shocked to see he is the same man she met the night before. Only, the night before hasn't happened yet. Jack attempts to convince Gemma that they are somehow stuck in a time loop and that she is the key to getting unstuck, without sounding like a crazy person, to varying degrees of success. Somehow, Gemma believes him, because the coincidences of the day are too much for her not to believe. With personal and professional strife also going on in her life, Gemma gets overwhelmed and runs away, but Jack is persistent and keeps showing up throughout the day to try to get her to break the cycle. I really enjoyed this story of trying to remember a life with someone that you've lived the same day with over and over, in many different iterations, and finally realizing that you feel like you've known them for months because you have. I loved the magic of opening your heart and mind up to the possibility of falling in a day. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quick paced, heartfelt read.
