if i was stuck in a time loop, i would not survive. now saying that, i will give this a solid 3.5. i liked the story but i did struggle to really feel the characters. overall, it was a cute short story!
thanks to NetGalley and publishers for this ARC!

THE DEJA GLITCH by Holly James is such a fun take on the time loop trope! This is a cute, feel good read!

I so so so wanted to like this one because the storyline sounded so interesting, but I just could not get into it! I’m a pretty quick reader but this one took me weeks to finish! it could very well be a me problem, but it just wasn’t my cup of tea. that being said, I did like the ending & felt like it wrapped everything up perfectly :)

I loved this book! I've always been a sucker for time loop stories ever since watching Groundhog Day as a kid, and this didn't disappoint. Jack and Gemma were great characters, the story kept me interested throughout (I finished it in one sitting after thinking I'd just be reading a single chapter), and the love story gave me butterflies. I couldn't ask for anything more from a book!

The Déjà Glitch by Holly James is a groundhog day type of story that involves a 24-hour loop that needs to be broken. I love these type of stories and seeing how the characters react in this situation, imagine how I would react to the day always restarting.
We follow Gemma and Jack, but the book is written in Gemma's POV. I do think it would be cool to see Jacks POV and what he went through in more detail. The romance between them is light and cute and fluffy, which is perfect for a summer read.
Even though I've read similar books, this was a fun and fresh take on the trope and I really enjoyed how the author executed it. It's also perfect for those who don't enjoy spice as this is a closed-door romance.
Thank you Netgalley and Penguin Group Dutton for the eARC!

*thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Unfortunately, this book was not for me. I did not connect with any of the characters and didn't love the choice of single POV for this book. I wanted to learn more about Jack's character. It felt like a very surface level book and I wanted a bit more depth.
I'll definitely be checking out the author's future work because while the plot and characters didn't work for me, I liked her writing style.

Holly James is just a delight to read - her style is so fun, so fresh and so incredibly enjoyable.
I adored this time loop story - one which I usually don't enjoy - it was so cute and I absolutely loved it!!
I always look forward to her books and find myself smiling while reading them. This is the perfect summer read!

I enjoyed the romance and mystery of the story. It was fun. Great characters. Entertaining story. I liked how they helped each other.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for the ARC of this novel. I found this to be a unique perspective on the time loop story since the protagonist is not aware of the loop happening. A majority takes place during the looping day which was fascinating to me. Gemma annoyed me at times but she does break some of her less desirable habits to grow as a person. Sometimes all it takes is a bit of a push to break the cycle and seeing Gemma work through this was enjoyable. Jack is a "perfect" romantic hero but I will give him some slack for having done this day 147 times in a row already. The epilogue was icing on the cake and I feel like this is a really fun read for anyone. 4 stars.

I love a good time loop and I espeically love a man who falls first. That is exactly what happens here. Jack has been stuck in a timeloop for 5 months, all he can think of to get him out is to have Gemma fall in love with him. As soon as he meets her, he is happy. He knows she is the one for him and he has to convince her of that.
Jack lives the same day over and over again, he can hardly remember anything from his life before this day, but everyday it's more of the same thing, until it isn't.
Gemma isn't quite happy with her life and knows things have to change. After her boyfriend dumped her when he didn't need her anymore, she is leery about love. When she meets Jack, it is like she has known him all her life. Jack feels like coming home. How can it feel this way after only meeting him today?
Jack tells Gemma about the time loop and thinks they both have to do the hard things to make them happy so that they can get out. He sees that Gemma is struggling in life too so what could be the harm in trying?
I really loved how dedicated Jack was to not only being there for Gemma but to help her along the way. This was a really cute story with very little angst, but still hit my heart.
Thanks to Penguin, Holly James and Netgalley for an early copy.

This was such an amazing book that takes place in a 24-hour loop where Jack needs to get Gemma to fall in love with him. Usually, I’m not a huge fan of time loop stories because they aren’t usually written well but James changed that for me. This book was greatly written with a great storyline and fantastic pacing. I loved the style of the writing and was really into the story. The conflicts were fun and I loved seeing the Hollywood side of the world.
This book is only written in Gemma’s pov which I wish we also got Jack’s. Gemma was a fun character who doesn’t know about the time loop. I liked her development and reading her story. Jack knows about the time loop and knows Gemma is the key so he stalks her. He was a very mysterious character until the end where you learn more about him. He also had great character development. The side characters were fun and I loved seeing some “Hollywood” stars in the book. The romance is very light and a romcom style with strangers to lovers and he falls first. The romance could have been better but it wasn’t bad.
The ending was well done and cute. The story was fantastic and the author did an incredible job with the book. I totally recommend checking this book out.

Romance version of Groundhog Day!
Gemma Peters version of a good time was staying home and reading a good book after her last boyfriend used her connections to get a record deal. She had promised her best friend Lila that she would go to her birthday party at a bar but there was something familiar about the guy at the end of the bar when Jack asked her to remember him. Little did Gemma know that she was in a time loop with Jack and they were repeating the same over and over again with Jack trying to figure out how to break the loop.
I usually avoid time loop romances because not much happens when they repeat each day but Holly James shows that Jack is trying to get Gemma to remember him and end the loop by falling in love.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was utterly adorable??? I had such a good time with this book and ate it up. There were so many emotions that packed a punch, yet the characters still felt true to themselves and not ostentatious. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author!

3.5/5 stars!
I will be honest, I am not at all a fan of time loop tropes, but this book was a very pleasant surprise! Gemma and Jack have found themselves stuck in a time loop, reliving the same day over a hundred times, except Gemma has no idea until now. Jack's theory is that if they fall in love, they will be able to break the loop. This story follows Gemma as she goes through a journey of self-discovery and maybe even opens herself up to love again. I liked this book a lot because although a time loop story it still felt somewhat grounded in reality and had many facets of a usual rom-com!

This one has a strong start and then lost me. There was a lot of disorganization around the magical realism aspect. I wish it would have kept the momentum it had in the beginning.

The Deja Glitch by Holly James
Narrator: Kristen DiMercurio, Dan Bittner
Rating: 4 stars

Gemma is going about her day when she bumps into Jack, literally, in a coffee shop. He spills coffee on her favorite shirt and says, “Do you remember me?” And the weird thing is, Gemma does. Kind of. He’s like the fuzzy part of a dream she can’t quite hold on to. She doesn’t realize that they have lived the same day roughly 150 times (over five months), and Jack thinks the only way to get out of the time loop they’re stuck in is by getting Gemma to fall in love with him.
Time loop stories are always super predictable and fun, and I can’t get enough of them. This was like Groundhog Day meets 50 Fifty First Dates, and it had a twist: instead of the story being told from Jack’s POV, the person stuck in the loop, it’s told from Gemma’s POV. It was exciting and entertaining to watch her come to grips with the news and then try to help them get unstuck.
Jack is earnest and adorable, and I loved him from the start. He’s struggling with some big changes in his life, which could be the reason he got stuck in the first place. I love Gemma’s tenacity and the personal growth she goes through by the end of the story. Initially, she lives a life where she’s afraid to go after the job she wants, and she refuses to speak to her famous father. She has a super cute dog and a spunky best friend, Lila, but she’s missing a meaningful romantic connection and is still heartbroken after her recent breakup.
I listened to this on audio, which I really enjoyed. Kristen DiMercurio did an amazing job voicing Gemma, and I’ll be sure to listen to other audiobooks narrated by her in the future.
Overall this was a great read. I laughed out loud and even got teary a few times toward the end. Thank you to PRH Audio for my free ALC and to NetGalley and Dutton for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a unique twist to your typical romance/rom-com! A mix of Groundhog Day and your favorite rom-com with a dash of social media, this was such a joy to read!
I loved watching the change in Gemma’s thoughts and actions throughout the book as she tries to piece everything together. Jack is the dreamy MMC that you only wish to bump into in your local coffee shop in real life and his efforts to win Gemma over are commendable. It becomes apparent to Gemma about half way through that bumping into Jack might just be what she needs to move forward and you can see her walls start to come down.
I won’t hesitate to read another book by Holly James and I highly recommend that you pick this one up!
A big thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for the digital copy. My review is honest and voluntary.

This was such an interesting premise, and I was so excited to read it! It certainly delivered on it's promises - I was rooting for our main characters, and I really wanted to figure out the whole time loop thing... Definitely one that I will recommend!

What would you do if you woke up feeling a tad bit of dèjá vú and then run into a man in a coffee shop, get coffee all over your favorite shirt all to be told thjs has happened before and you are the key to him getting out of a time loop he is stuck in?
If freak out and try to run away is your answer, first same, and also what Gemma agreed with that logic, but once it seems like running away won’t help and Jack keeps popping up she is gonna have to deal with the time loop issue head on and maybe fall in love while she is at it.
I loved how this was insta love but not because truly once all is said and done, these two fell in love over the course of 6 months stuck in the time loop together and bring out the best in each other and compliment and complete each other so well.
If you also love time loop stories I highly recommend checking this one out as it is now one of my fave time loop romances! Jack and Gemma are definitely a couple I’ll think about for a while to come!
Thanks so much Dell & PRH for my ARC of this one in exchange for my honest review!

4.5 stars rounded up
Gemma Peters is at her best friend's birthday party. She has set an alarm of when she can leave. Lila the BF wants her to drink and have fun and talk to a guy. Gemma decides to talk to the guy and they hit it off and kiss. The last thing he says to her is "remember me."
Time loop Trope is one of my favorites. This one was a little different which was so much fun. Jack is the one who remembers and no one else does including Gemma.
I really loved this book. I had a hard time putting it down and stayed up late to finish it. Usually sleep trumps reading. But I had to know the ending. 💕
