When I first read the blurb for this book, I was intrigued. I’m a sucker for romance books, especially the cliché and cheesy ones. I’m happy to say that this book did not disappoint.
I loved reading this, so much so that I finished it within a day! I’m glad I was able to receive this ARC, because once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down!

Jack and Gemma are stuck in a time loop. They’ve been repeating the same day for (add spoiler note here) 147 days! Yes, you read that right. While Jack is aware that they’ve been stuck in a loop, Gemma is none the wiser. I can’t even imagine how Jack must have felt! Constantly reliving the same thing over and over again, and having no one but yourself remember it. In order to get out of the time loop, Jack had a theory. All he needs to do is make Gemma fall in love with him. Sounds easy enough right? Except us book girlies know that it’s NEVER that simple.

Jack won me over time and time again! If I was Gemma, I would’ve folded easily, because he’s just so amazing! The fact that he was willing to try every single day made falling for him easy. And I know what you may be thinking. Of course he’s going to try, he wants to be out of the loop. That’s true, of course, but it’s the effort he would make and the lengths he went through that really sold him for me. If I’m being honest, I probably would’ve gave up around the 2 month mark.

Gemma’s character wasn’t always the easiest to love, but I wasn’t expecting her to be. I had to keep reminding myself that everything she was living and learning was basically brand new information for her. Her reactions were a tad bit annoying and irritating at times, but they were also realistic. It’s not far fetched to think that we would react the same way as her if we were in her shoes.

My biggest issue with her came down to the miscommunication. It’s one of my least favorite tropes. I really wish characters would take a second to stop and listen before jumping to conclusions, but this is a book, so of course we need the drama lol. Other than that though, I really liked Gemma’s character. She’s been burned in the past, so we can’t expect her to be so trusting.

The romance worked so well for me that I didn’t even mind the fact that we didn’t get any spicy scenes. Watching Jack and Gemma’s relationship blossom into something beautiful was enough for me. I’m so glad this ended with a HEA too, because they deserved that after everything they’d already been though.

I’m usually not the biggest fan of books told in third person, but I feel like it was necessary for this book. We wouldn’t have been able to get as much information and detail as we did if it was told in first person POV. Especially since Gemma was clueless to what was going on for so long.

This was my first Holly James book, but the writing was beautiful for me, so I’m looking forward to reading more of her books.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dutton Books for providing me with an ARC for this book.

A cute Groundhog Day story, reminiscent of Ashley Posten’s magical realism, which you know I’m a big fan. I love the characters characters, especially Jack - I mean COME ON! Total hearteyes for that dreamboat.

I did not expect to like this book as much as I did! I don’t read many time loop books, so I was a little skeptical of the storyline. This book surprised me so much and I absolutely adored it!

When Gemma runs (literally) into Jack, she has a feeling of déjà vu. Has she met this guy before? He seems so familiar and so do his lips! As it turns out, Gemma and Jack have lived this same day over and over for months. They are stuck in a time loop with only one possible way to get out: Gemma must fall in love with Jack in a single day. Can Gemma fall in love with Jack and break out of the loop?

This book flowed so well and I loved the friendship between Gemma and Lila. So much about this book surprised me and had me laughing out loud and rooting for Gemma and Jack the entire time.

This was such an interesting and fun book. I really liked the premise and the execution.

I enjoyed seeing Jack work to convince Gemma that he is stuck in a time loop and the only way out is for her to fall in love with him. I liked seeing the travel across LA to try to solve the problem and also get to know each other more (though it felt unrealistic that they’d get everywhere in one day since they went ALL over).

These were some funny scenes and I really loved the ones with Gemma and her best friend, Lila.

Definitely recommend.

I love a good groundhog day story. Holly James crafted a fun time-loop story that kept me engaged. Details and events were not repetitive and in fact, the story was not what I'd expected at all (in a good way). In <i>The Deja Glitch</i>, readers are seeing things from the perspective of Gemma who had only just started realising she is in a time loop. It was a refreshing take. Overall, it was a quick, fun read. It's my first book by this author and I'm excited to read more of her works.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

4.5 rounded up to 5

I love a time loop story! This one wasn’t your typical one - I won’t elaborate because I don’t give much away, but I loved it nonetheless. Jack was so swoon-worthy and charming, Gemma had the perfect amount of wariness in my opinion. I also loved the side characters. All in all, well written, full of heart and fun!

I will admit, I was a little skeptical about the story having a time loop. However, this was done so perfectly. I absolutely loved this story.

The story follows Gemma and Jack. They have been repeating the same day over and over for 147 days. Jack knows he has been repeating the same day while Gemma is not aware. Each day she wakes up and relives the same day as if it is happening for the first time.

Jack has devised a plan to do something different in hopes of getting out of this time loop. He realizes Gemma is the reason for it. When he ran into her it was as if time stopped.

The story takes us through the day Gemma starts to get that déjà vu feeling. Jack and her best friend are there every step of the way. I loved the way things unfolded and how they came together in the end.

This makes you really think about your decisions and everything you do in life. If you had done one thing differently, your life could change and be so different.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

If you love time loops and rom-coms, and grew up watching 50 First Dates and Groundhogs Day, this is perfect for you!

A quick, but enjoyable read---the chemistry between Gemma and Jack was great, the theme of being stuck and not being able to move on really resonated with me. The bit of magic (time loop) enhanced, but didn't overtake the plot. Jack was a total swoon worthy lead. A lovely read!
Thanks #NetGalley and PENGUIN GROUP Dutton for the ARC.

Jack has been reliving the same day for months and believes the only way out of this circle is to get Gemma Peters to fall in love with him. The Problem? Gemma has a feeling of deja vu, but she cannot remember Jack and she has made a vow not to date musicians again (after her last boyfriend used her).

I had high hopes for this time travel romance and it did not let me down. Do not be worried that you will have to read the same things over and over. This book has a refreshing spin that was utterly enjoyable. Thank you for my gifted copy of this book.

This is a cute romance about a man, Jack, who is stuck in a time loop. He realizes that Gemma, a girl he has run into countless times in his glitch, might be the key to getting him unstuck.

This genre can get repetitive (think of Groundhog Day) and boring but this one is unique in the characters only live one day in the span of the book. There were some incredibly cheesy moments and a third act breakup but overall a very refreshing, short, and enjoyable read!

I'm a total sucker for time loops, and I enjoyed Holly James' twist on the trope. Not only does only one person remember all the previous iterations of the day in question, but it seems the only way to get out of it and move into the future is to get the other to fall in love with him.

The book packed a LOT into just one day, but it worked for me since one character had had many, many days to think about the best way to approach it.

I'm grateful to have had the chance to read the ARC of The Deja Glitch, and I definitely recommend it.

A wonderful, clean romance (endless kissing but anything beyond that is off-page--felt like I needed to clarify that if you were looking for more spice).

It might not have the thrill of a budding romance the way we're used to, but as Gemma struggles with remembering Jack, and how what she needs to do to reclaim her happiness is tied into what Jack has already experienced with her, I still felt the pull. Jack's wide-eyed longing is sweet, even if he comes across as a little too pure for Hollywood. (Again, this is not how this book rolls.)

I'm glad Gemma doesn't get to experience endless days the way Jack had--when I read Christina Lauren's "In a Holidaze," even a half dozen(?) repeats for the female main protagonist, Mae, was a bit tedious. For some readers this contributed to them not feeling a connection to Jack and Gemma's romance, but I did. The fact that a kiss kicks off their time loop in a whole new direction was really sweet.

Yes, there is A LOT that takes place in one day. But that's because Jack has worked out a lot of the kinks, so to speak, knows how certain events keep directing themselves, and so by his very insights manages to inadvertently (with a few times intentionally) shift them once again--hopefully in a direction that brings him and Gemma together, and keeps them together back into a regular old "tomorrow." Obviously it's the final reckoning--both of them finally facing their demons and the life-altering decisions that began "the day before" due to each one's unhappiness--that brings us our HEA.

I'd recommend this, especially to readers who like very low spice romances, if the time loop plot device doesn't go over their heads.

Holly James is a new to me author and after reading (and enjoying) a time loop book earlier this year, I decided to request this one from NetGalley. It was very charming! The tag line said it is a Groundhog Day meets Love Actually but it really gave me more Groundhog Day meets 50 First Dates vibes and I loved that combination. It was so sweet to see Jack’s pursuit of Gemma and trying to get her to remember. The sweet romance, friendship, family/ex boyfriend drama and just overall growth of Gemma throughout the story was an enjoyable read.

I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Content Notes: Infidelity, make-outs/closed door romance

I adore timeloops and while I absolutely LOVED The Deja Glitch, it didn't feel like your normal time loop. We meet Gemma & Jack on the last day of the time loop, but we hear about all 146 days of the time loop from Jack because he is determined to make Gemma fall in love with him to finally end it.

I adored the chemistry between Gemma and Jack. I really loved all the characters because even the side/background characters had so much personality that they truly shown. I loved all of the interactions and I loved how much growth that we saw with Gemma just over the course of one day.

I felt a lot of emotional tie to the book - I actually deducted half a star because of the fact that I didn’t get my normal time loop where we experience the day multiple times.

4.5 stars and I want to re-read this one because it was so much fun the first time that I bet I would love it just as much reading it multiple times.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I had never read a time loop trope before and really liked the way that even though the story took place in a matter of days it didn't feel repetitive or boring. I adored all the characters and Lila was my favorite side character of all time! I do wish we had gotten a bit more back story and character development for Jack. His character was great but just wanted more of him and who he was. I loved watching Gemmas self confidence grow throughout the story. If you are looking for a cute rom com, Deja Glitch is a great choice.

4 star rating...Thanks to Holly James, the publisher, and Netgalley for an advanced copy for my honest review.

i absolutely loved this!! i love time loops and it was such a unique twist on the trope, with only one person knowing!! it reminded me a bit of see you yesterday by rachel lynn solomon, since miles and jack are both stuck in the time loop first! watching gemma go from reluctant to confident was such a lovely bit of character growth. i also loved the cast of side characters, although i firmly believe we needed more rex the dog.

Let me start by saying: Holly James, you have a new fan! The Déjà Glitch follows Jack and Gemma, two people who have been stuck in a time loop for almost five months. The problem is Jack remembers everything that has happened and Gemma doesn’t. Now, he needs to get the girl of his dreams to fall in love with him, or be stuck in the time loop forever.

If you love romantic comedies, this is the book for you. This book has everything: meet cutes in a coffee shop, artistic jobs for our leads, family drama, conniving exes, an airport scene, and even a rock star serenade. This book could have been cheesy with all of the tropes, but James wrote it in a way that made every scenario make sense. This book was a ton of fun to read, and unlike other time loop books, this one only focuses on the one day rather than the different iterations of it. I loved the characters and how they were open to admitting their flaws, but acknowledging that they will work through them.

James’ writing is easy to read and she gets straight to the point without flowery language. She made me invested in the characters and I could not help cheering them on to get there happily ever after.

One thing I will say is that the book did start off slow, but it was only for the first chapter or two.

Rating: 4.5⭐️. I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for you all to experience it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book comes out 8/1!

A fresh take on the time loop romance and genuinely pretty adorable. I've never seen a time loop story mainly from the perspective of the non-looping individual, and was hooked instantly. This story is very sweet, with characters who feel generally like real people with credible problems (except maybe the time looping). A great choice for those who like their fluffy silliness to have a little weight and heft to it.

Finally, a time loop romcom that doesn't make the reader sit through chapter after chapter of that day actually repeating! Holly James gives us about a day and a half of repetition just to get the point across and then uses Jack's memories and anecdotes to show how his day has been repeated 148 times.

The Deja Glitch is a sweet closed-door romance that moves quickly and has a clear intention. You know that they'll come together in the end and a happily ever after will ensue. However, James doesn't speed the love story up to an unrealistic degree; you still feel like Gemma and Jack could break up for other circumstances a year or more down the line, despite falling in love that day.

The plot doesn't waste time on unredeemable villains and the exes come and go pretty quickly which is appreciated. The chapters are on the longer side but events move quickly and time isn't wasted.

Overall, this is adorable and shows that the time loop trope can still be done well.
