Jack and Gemma were likable. Overall, I enjoyed the plot.
This was the first time I’ve ever gotten to 92% of a book and considered DNF’ing. From the 90% to the 95% mark, Jack and Gemma rehashed through written dialogue every single event of their time loop day. Then the epilogue was another half rehash half awkward mess. It was like, really? I read the book, and I knew what happened in the story… There was a lot of exposition throughout that just had me skim reading for pages on my kindle. I also noticed we were in limited third person POV focused on Gemma, but we were gifted random one-sentence omniscient POVs throughout (I really hope the line editors help fix before printing). I felt like so much of this book was padding for word count. I finished reading in three and a half hours, so probably. :-( (I’m a fast reader, but normally romcoms take me 4.5-5ish hours…)
Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin for the ARC.

Thank you NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Gemma Peters is a radio producer who has greater ambitions but feels stuck–literally. Her ex-boyfriend using her to get close to her rock legend dad has caused her to shut relationships from her life and she’s keen on making a name for herself in the industry without associating with her father. Jack, a scriptwriter, on the other hand, finds himself asking for a change, and his wish gets answered in a most unexpected way. She’s living her life with her best friend Lila and her Labrador Rex until one day she notices a familiar feeling about the events of her day. When Gemma crashes into Jack at her favorite coffee place, she can’t explain the sense of déjà vu she experiences–but he can. They have been experiencing the same Thursday for over five months and while Jack is bound to remember, Gemma is only able to remember fragments. How are they stuck and how can they break the loop?
When I first saw what this book was about I immediately wanted to read it and I was absolutely not disappointed. This book is a romcom and time loop lover’s dream. It went beyond my expectations which were already high in the first place. I loved reading about Gemma and I’m pretty sure I also fell in love with Jack in one day. Even though it was a quick read I felt like the pace of the relationship was perfect. Most of the book takes place on the same day and it felt like one day was longer than 24 hours. I loved how even most of the book is about Gemma’s struggles, it gave space for Jack to figure out and solve his own problems. Besides the romance part of the story, the magical realism (or science-fiction) part was really interesting too. I appreciated how a time loop was actually kind of justified instead of just getting brushed under magic.
Lila. I need a best friend like Lila in my life. Lila was probably the character I related to the most because I too would drag my best friend to a psychic if she told me a handsome stranger told her that they were stuck in a time loop. Also, she was such a hopeless romantic and a very supportive best friend. Her being an influencer worked out in Gemma’s favor quite a lot and I’m not just talking about all the free items she gets thanks to Lila. I also adored how it was Lila’s birthday but she still was with Gemma whenever Gemma needed her. I loved how she stood up for her at the birthday dinner, and at the airport too. The side characters were so well-developed.
Gemma’s relationship with her brother giving her complicated relationship with her dad was also handled very delicately. I loved how close they were, and it was heart-warming to read about how things worked out in the end for them as a family. Also, I loved Nigel as a character and how he was a father figure to Gemma. Both the podcast and the concert scenes were magical. I loved the lengths Jack went to for Gemma and how Nigel happily played along.
Gemma and Jack. I have so much to say about them, I absolutely adored their relationship, and I still can’t stop thinking about Jack’s speech (the one Lila recorded). That is quite literally the most romantic thing ever. I loved how Jack never gave up even after 5 months. He was so sure Gemma was the answer he needed, and it turned out he was exactly what Gemma needed as well. I loved how he memorized practically everything about Gemma, yet still wanted to learn more. I loved how each of them was convinced that the other one was the key. Because that was what the story was about. Both of them found each other at a time they needed each other the most. Because of the events of the day, Gemma had to face the two challenges she was running away from, just like how Jack realized the change he needed was Gemma and how he knew this in his heart for all 5 months. This was such a unique twist on time loops, I loved reading this book so much.
If you’re looking for a fun, heart-warming, and creative romcom and you enjoy time loops, this is your book. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

I am not a typical romantic comedy reader but it is nice to take a break from thrillers so I was happy to get the opportunity to read " The Deja Glitch".
Overall I would say that this is a cute, pretty clean, fairly predictable read. The pacing was fairly slow in certain chapters causing me to skim to dialogue between the characters.
My favorite part was a funny scene at the conclusion of the book when the reader gets a glimpse at how well the love intrests have come to know one another.
A light read that readers who enjoy the insta-love / rom-com genre will enjoy,

Thank you to Penguin Group Dutton and NetGalley for the eARC of The Deja Glitch in exchange for my honest review.
I think this one had a lot of potential, I love a Groundhogs Day-esque romance because they typically are a lot of fun and time loops can bring some interesting consequences to the characters. However, the characters in this felt extremely shallow which tanked my excitement. I felt pretty meh about the whole thing.

This was the first time I have read a book about being stuck in a time loop and it was SO GOOD!!!! I highly recommend this book. I loved the relationship between the two main characters and all the family connections that were made in this story.

This was a total must-read. it had a lot working for it. I really enjoyed the story and all that it was about. Good story and will read more from this author.

I received an arc of this from NetGalley.
I was excited for this book. I love time loop and time travel stories. This was fell a bit short in the time loop and romance departments. The book just skimmed the surface. It never went too deep. Though we knew Gemma pretty well, what did we really know of Jack and why he loved her so much?
This barely made it as a 3. I do not think I’d recommend it.

Ground Hogs Day Romance. Had potential but the writing was too shallow leaving me disconnected from the characters, not sold AT ALL on the time loop theory, and uninterested in the character arcs. Also felt very predictable.
Thank you to netgalley for giving me an arc in exchange for an honest review.

3.5/5 rounded up. I was absolutely presently surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. Holly James did a phenomenal job writing banter, in that way it reminded me of Emily Henry’s writing. I was invested from the start and appreciated the realistic depth the main character had. I would have given this a full four stars, but it slightly lost me around the 75% mark, I won’t say any spoilers, but I wasn’t all onboard for how quickly some of those things transpired.
Extra bonus points for getting me out of a reading slump!

In this contemporary romance, Gemma Peters finds herself caught in a time loop, reliving the same day over and over again. To break free from this repetitive cycle, Jack proposes a solution: he must make Gemma fall in love with him within a single day. But there's a catch—Gemma needs to remember him first.
Gemma is content with her life in the L.A. music industry, focusing on her career and enjoying the company of her best friend and beloved dog. However, her past experience with a manipulative ex-boyfriend has led her to establish a strict rule against dating musicians. When Gemma collides with Jack one morning, she can't deny the strange connection between them. As they spend more time together, Gemma experiences a strong sense of déjà vu and an unexplainable attraction to Jack. But how can she trust her feelings when she forgets him completely after each reset?
Jack, on the other hand, is painfully aware of the time loop they're trapped in. Every repeated day feels like an eternity to him. Determined to break free, he devises a plan to make Gemma fall in love with him before the day ends. As they navigate the loop together, Jack must find a way to convince Gemma of their shared past and the connection they have beyond the confines of the time loop.
The concept of reliving the same day repeatedly offers an intriguing premise for the story. The author skillfully explores the consequences and challenges of this time loop, delving into the psychological and emotional impact it has on the characters. The romantic aspect of the plot adds an additional layer of tension and complexity as Gemma and Jack try to unravel the mystery behind their connection and find a way to break free.
While the story presents an engaging concept, some readers may find the repetitive nature of the time loop tedious or predictable. The character development is adequate, with Gemma and Jack displaying growth and vulnerability as they navigate their unique situation. The supporting characters provide depth and contribute to the overall narrative, adding both comedic and emotional moments.
The writing style is straightforward and flows smoothly, allowing readers to easily follow the progression of events. The dialogue is natural and helps to convey the chemistry between Gemma and Jack. The author explores themes of love, fate, and second chances, offering readers a blend of romance and introspection.
Overall, this book presents an entertaining and light-hearted take on the time loop trope in a contemporary romance setting. It offers an escape into a world where love has the power to break through the constraints of time, inviting readers to ponder the role of destiny and the potential for change within a repetitive cycle.

Thank you to NetGalley for an eARC of this book. I love a time loop; Groundhog Day is one of my favorites, so I couldn't pass this up. I appreciate that the main characters had to resolve personal issues rather than complete a redemption arc. Even though there was a time loop, there was a lack of repetition of events. Yes, Jack has lived this day 147 times, but I didn't have to as a reader. I loved the secondary characters; everyone needs a best friend like Lila with her Aunt Clara. I wonder if that was a nod to Bewitched. Lastly, I loved that Helen, the ticket agent, has a recurring role. Maybe she'll get a spin-off. :)

I picked this up when I wanted a palate cleanser after a really heavy read, and this certainly was that. It started out strong - sweet and romantic, a time loop with goofy, lovable characters and some more complex family themes underneath. However, the last 30-40% of this book went way downhill in quality and went way UP in the cheese factor. By the end, it was painfully cheesy 😬
All in all, this was cute, but nothing special.

What a fun read! This sweet story of two people caught in a time loop is funny, romantic and has so many twists and turns. This is a great summer or beach read, and will keep you smiling throughout.

I don't think I have ever read a time loop trope book before, but I loved this one. The author, Holly James, does a great job writing the storyline where even though it is a Groundhog day type situation, it doesn't feel like I'm reading the same thing over and over again.
This book is like Groundhog day and 50 first dates combined. Jack wakes up every morning and goes off to run into Gemma and tries to make her like him, when hes already head over heels for her. It was a super easy read I flew through in a day.
Jack and Gemma go on a journey to find out why they have been stuck in a time loop, and over the course of the book, they really grow as people and characters. All the characters were well rounded and I could connect with them and liked them (except Nick). Definitely an enjoyable read!
Special thanks to Netgalley and Penguin Group Dutton for the digital reviewer copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Gemma hasn’t really dated since her musician-ex used her to meet her rockstar father, then dumped her. When she literally runs into Jack one morning at the coffee shop, she thinks maybe fate is doing her a favor with this cute guy. But – how does he know her name? And why is there a feeling of déjà-vu when she looks at him? According to Jack, they have been reliving this Thursday for months, and he believes if he can get her to fall in love with him, their time loop will end.
I like this play on a time loop, where we see the perspective of the person who doesn’t remember the repeating days. The characters are all lovable and well-written, and you just can’t help but root for the happy ending that you know is coming. I highly recommend this book to those who like clean romances!
Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an ARC of this book.

Gemma and Jack find themselves in a loop where they repeat the same day over and over. The catch? Only Jack knows they're in a loop. Each day, he tries to get Gemma to remember him, and each day, he fails...until he finally takes extreme measures.
The next day, Gemma starts to feel the effects of the loop. But will it be enough? Can Jack convince her of the truth and what he thinks they must do to get out of the loop?
As soon as I read the blurb for The Deja Glitch, I knew it had to be mine. Romantic version of Groundhog Dog? Count me in!
I expected this to be a dual timeline book since Jack was the one who knew what was happening and was surprised it wasn't. I think keeping one narrator through most of the book helped keep the reader guessing as to what would happen.
It also made your heart break a little more for Jack. I can't imagine spending so long in a loop that only YOU knew existed and, each day, trying to convince the one person who could help to remember you.
There were parts of the book that didn't work, however. There was something about Gemma that made me not like her very much. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it was her narration style, but I struggled to like her which is why I give the book 3.5 stars. I loved Jack though. He truly made the book enjoyable! Especially after he met a certain rock star...I'm still giggling about it!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

After meeting a handsome stranger at a bar, Gemma wakes up the next day and keeps experiencing strange senses of Deja Vu. When she runs into the guy again at a coffee shop (literally), Jack explains that not only have they met before, but that he’s stuck on day 156 of a time loop and he feels Gemma is the key to breaking it. The novel takes place over a single day but references the many times Jack has lived it before. Gemma also works through her distant relationship with her father and her quest to succeed in her career without his influence. Overall I liked the book but I think it became a little over the top near the end- too many wild events packed into one day and a bit of a cliched ending. I did think the characters were well developed and you find out more about all of them as the day goes on that help explain why they act the way they do.

This is by far not a perfect book. The premise of a time loop for a love story is one that I don't read too often. It's more of a sci-fi genre regarding the topic of a time loop. However, this is where the good plot of the story ends. There are many things wrong regarding its science, but I won't nitpick that because it's more of a romance novel. Now, I expected more because it's a time loop. I expected a lot of pushback from Gemma because, come on, if it were me, I wouldn't have come to being convinced so easily. I think that's where the story lost its greatness for me. Because everything was so easy for the characters, there were no fireworks or adversity. On top of it all, the characters don't have any personalities, especially Gemma and Jack being the main characters. There was no sense of humor or any emotion. Who are they really? I feel like I didn't get a sense of who they were. The premise was to get Gemma to remember and end the time loop. The story was empty for me.

This is a great book with the perfect in sync time loop. I mean who lives a good time loop! Me! This book gives me Hallmark Movie Vibes; and everyone needs a good hallmark movie(no matter how predictable the ending is) it was still a good read!

What a fun take on a time loop trope! I loved the characters in this and the pacing was great. The fact that this somehow takes place over one day primarily is cool; so many books show the repeating days and I’m glad James didn’t rely on that here. Would love to see Lila have a book next!
