Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Dutton for the ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
I recently read this author's Nothing But The Truth and liked it but didn't love it. Not so with this one - it was so much better. So funny and great pacing - even though it takes place in a very short time, it didn't feel rushed. Loved the main characters and their chemistry. I also liked the subtle mention of characters from her other book. Speaking of, is it possible the next book is about Lila? She was the perfect best friend character.

I didn't plan it but I happened to read two "time loop" books in a row - the other one was awful so I didn't have high hopes for The Deja Glitch. I needn't have worried. Fun, fast, you can read it in one night. Very satisfying, definitely recommend.

Everyone say hello to your new favorite Groundhog Day retelling, because this one is going to have you grinning ear to ear from start to finish. The Deja Glitch was adorably sweet, funny, and fun. Usually I'm not a fan of time-loop stories (they feel too repetitive for me..which I guess is the point) but this one was written in a way that felt new and not like I was just rereading the same chapter over and over again. Point to Holly James! I loved the drama, I loved the man-falls-first, I loved the happy ever after. Our leading man Jack was adorably sweet, the heroine Gemma was stubborn but relatable, and the side friends were perfect and fun to hear from. Also loved the closed-door romance aspect! Another winner of a read!

Super cute, quick, fresh take on the Groundhog Day/time loop trope, but make it a romcom. Fans of crossover romcom and women’s fic/commercial novels and the romcom film Palm Springs will definitely enjoy this read.

Set in L.A., Gemma is the daughter of a famous rock star and climbing the ladder to being an on air interviewer in the scene. At her BFFs bday party she meets Jack, and they have an instant connection. So deep and instantaneous it’s almost like they’ve met before..because they have. Over 150 times actually! Jack, a successful TV screenwriter, has been stuck in this time loop since the day they met and believes the key to getting out is getting Gemma to fall in love with him.

Set over the course of 24 hrs, the plot moves forward in a way where it’s plausible they have a legitimate shot at falling in love in a single day. I personally wish we could have gotten even more on page time of them just being couple-y because I really liked them. Definitely recommend this one and can see it appealing to newer genre crossover readers who may be newer to the romance genre in general because so many will connect with the premise

Let me start this by saying, I absolutely love the premise of this book. But this was just not it for me. I really couldn’t connect to the plot or the characters and I just felt like I didn’t care enough to find out what happened in the end. I did end up enjoying a few bits of it, so it gets 2 stars from me.

I wanted to love this book. I enjoy the time loop trope and the first few chapters of this book really drew me in. About halfway through, I started to lose interest. The end of the book held my attention again, but the middle was difficult. I didn't like that the time loop only covered 2 days. The story was from Gemma's POV and she didn't remember. I think if she had been the one who remembered or if it had given Jack's POV it would have worked better.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book.

Thank you to NetGallery for an early preview of this book.

I really enjoyed this book! The time loop was a fun new adventure and I thought the side characters were fleshed out well as well as Gemma and Jack. I really enjoyed their relationship and found myself rooting for them to be together. My only very tiny nitpick would be a little more closure with Gemma's dad, but thought it was still done well. I just found myself very invested in their relationship as well. I would recommend this book to friends and family.

The Groundhog Day / 24 hr trope is very difficult to write, and unfortunately this one missed. I think it’s because the main character is the one in the dark; she can’t manipulate or change anything from the day before. Gemma is incredibly selfish and overall unlikeable, and Jack is one dimensional. I appreciate the opportunity to read an advanced copy.

This was such a fun twist on the "groundhog day" story. The characters were written very well and the story itself hooked me right away!

A fun, lighthearted yet thought provoking read that gave me all the feels. An elevated Groundhog Day with humor, friendship, family and love.

Gemma is living her life in a rut when she meets Jack at her best friend's birthday. She feels an instant connection like she met him before and after Jack explaining, it seems like she has. They have lived the same day over and over again but Gemma has no memory of it. As Jack pulls out all the stops to convince Gemma to love him, Gemma does everything in her power to deny it. Will true love win? What will stop this endless cycle?

Loved Jack and Gemma! Many thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for the ARC.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. I'm not really a huge fan of the "groundhog day" premise but I enjoyed the fresh spin this story took. I liked following Gemma's perspective in the time-loop as Jack's would have definitely gotten old quickly. Jack's dialogue was definitely swoon-worthy at times and I enjoyed him as a character but the romance fell a little flat for me (it escalated very quickly which felt a bit out of character for Gemma, especially given her backstory). The side characters were definitely my favorite part of this story and I almost wish Lila had gotten her own book because she's a delight. This is a pretty sweet romance, with very little spice if you know what I mean. Overall, I enjoyed this one and read it in one sitting. I'd definitely be willing to read more of Holly James work!

Big thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for sharing this advanced reader copy with me in exchange my honest opinions.

Addicted is not a strong enough word for how I feel about this book. I loved nearly everything about it. I need to be honest here, time loop books are not my favorite but this book is the exception. Iloved the charactors, the plot was perfectly executed, the vibes were chefs kiss.. GO READ THIS BOOK WHEN ITS OUT!

This adorable take on the time loop romance was full of sweet moments and self-empowerment for our MC. Highly recommend!

The premise of this book caught my eye, but I did not love it! The pacing felt very inconsistent, (the middle dragged and dragged) and the MC was hard for me to support. I felt like she was a little bit simpering. I was sad that it wasn't executed as well as it could have been.

I received this ARC from NetGalley

The Deja Glitch is a tale as old as time(loop). Boy meets girl. Boy spills girl’s coffee, copy, paste repeat. For 174 days. This book was so cute and I enjoyed every minute! I reminded me of a classic DCOM - a time loop and an aging rockstar helping our couple get together? What’s not to love! If you need a book to put a smile on your face, The Deja Glitch is a great option!

I LOVE a good time loop story and this one did not disappoint!!! It was SUCH a cute Rom-Com and I didn't think I would love an insta love attraction but this one was so well done. It felt like a classic movie. The dialogue was so easy and natural and it felt like a very original story.

A rom com time loop book. Gemma and Jack have a run in one day. Gemma has no clue this has happened many times before but Jack does. Jack has to convince Gemma to believe him and find a way to stop this time glitch. What can I say? I’m a sucker for time loop type books! I enjoy the suspension of reality and how it allows for a creative unusual story. this one was fun and cute with some added depth. It was the perfect little rom com. I enjoyed getting to know Gemma and Jack . I received this as an ARC from NetGalley. Thank you NetGalley!

The Déjà Glitch follows Jack and Gemma as they try to get out of a 24-hour time loop that Jack says has been going on for 147 days. Jack is the only person who can remember each of those 147 days and even though Gemma can’t, he thinks she is the key to making the time loop end. We follow them as they try to work according to Jack’s theory to see if they can really break the time loop. As they finally begin to work together, a lot of dominos start falling that allow a lot of family and relationship amends to be made. But is it all enough? What if Gemma wakes up again and doesn’t remember Jack? What if they can never break the time loop?

This book was pretty good! I loved the uniqueness of a new kind of romantic comedy! The fact that this is a romantic comedy + an aspect of the supernatural makes this book a super fun read! I love that for me, Gemma was a super relatable character. She doesn’t like parties, would rather a book and her dog.

One thing that made me give this book like a 4~4.5/5 is that a majority of the story occurs over one day. While this is one fun and unique aspect, it can also cause the book to feel like it’s moving a little slowly. If you’re good with reading a slow~medium based book, then there are really no qualms!

I also loved a lot of the different aspects that were going on with the main characters! They had jobs, friends, family, etc. all going on at the same time, getting “fixed” or “not fixed” all throughout the book. It’s almost like a puzzle!

There was a certain topic in this book that hit home for me. I would not get much into it. But yeah, that made me extra emotionally involved with this book. I rarely pick up anything with a time loop or time travel. However, the synopsis seemed interesting enough for me to get this book. I liked the writing style and world-building. The plot was engaging. Characters needed a bit of work. Nothing major. I really enjoyed this book.

"It felt like a line, and despite herself, she fell for it."

I fell hard for this sweet little RomCom and all its outrageousness. The time loop trope might not be for everyone, but I'm reading fiction as escape from real life, so I don't mind a little magic/science/get the girl to fall in love with the boy in 24 hours...

Gemma and Jack are the most lovable characters. Gemma is so relatable with her family hurt, workplace ambition, struggle with confidence, and deep care for her best friend, brother and dog Rex. Then comes Jack with his unwavering support and love for Gemma and I was instantly rooting for them.

"It's you, Gemma. You are the center of everything." I highly recommend this story from Holly James. It had me swooning and slightly wishing for a time loop in my own life that shifts my universe to revolve around my own happy ending...

This book was so promising at the beginning! It was super fast-paced, the characters were interesting, the time loop thing was working.....
Until it wasn't.
This book lost me at the entire chapter dedicated to the science of time loops. It was extremely boring. I did not understand it. You should know your audience with a romance novel is not a bunch of physics fanatics.
I did enjoy MC Gemma though. I thought she was interesting and well-written. Lila was also a favorite character of mine. However, I have no interest in knowing the rest of their story because the whole time loop thing got way too confusing.
How does Gemma not realize she's in a time loop but Jack does? Honestly, it was probably explained in the time loop explanation sciencey chapter that I skimmed because it was so boring. If that part was written differently and it wasn't just an old guy explaining time loops, maybe it would have held my interest.
I really wanted to like this book, and I'm disappointed that I didn't.
