This is such a cute story about a guy stuck repeating the same day over and over again, and the girl who just might be the answer he's been looking for. When Jack and Gemma meet for the first time, neither of them knew it would change everything. Holly James does a wonderful job with this telling of deja vu and what happens when you're the only person who knows a day is repeating. There a twists and turns, and even a few celebrity run-ins. It's definitely worth the read!

"The Déjà Glitch" was such a cute story of Jack who's stuck in a time loop. Imagine having to live the same day over and over again for weeks. The book kind of reminded me of Groundhog Day, but with more of a love story twist! I love the idea that we can be stuck in life until something changes within us. The little bit of magic in the story, made for a fun touch. I was rooting for Gemma and Jack the whole time!

Thank you NetGalley for giving me an early copy of this book for review.

This is my first time-loop love story I think, and while I think that I may have actually been able to enjoy this book under different circumstances, but this unfortunately did not work for me.

I think that this could have been the one exception to my "I instantly dislike all insta-love stories" if I didn't dislike the main character so much. As a main character, Gemma is... annoying. She is more than thirty years old and she is honestly so unlikeable. She is selfish. Her brother is stuck in an airport and all she cares about is how it affects her plans to see their father since she doesn't want to do it alone. She is RUDE to Jack. I get it, it would be extremely weird to wake up in that situation, but she's awful from the moment when she first bumps into him and randomly every time she chooses to misunderstand or interpret a scenario. She is self absorbed. She wants her father to ruin her exes career and cost himself money in an attempt for him to win back her favor. She's insufferable and I think that I would have enjoyed this story a lot more if Lila was the main character.

Actually that's not a bad idea. Make a Lila and TSA guy love story instead!

I think there was some cute moments in this story, and Jack was an often times cheesy but acceptable love interest. On the other hand though, I could have really done without some of the super dramatic declarations of love from these two in the last half of the book. It made an already unbelievable story a bit too over the top. It made what could have been a sweet realization from how much their lives had changed in the span of a day, to the typical "insta-love" that just doesn't appeal to me personally as a reader.

Overall, I read this quickly and I didn't find myself ever bored. I did actually enjoy the story itself as a whole, I just could have done without Gemma and her "the world literally revolves around me" attitude.

This romance novel takes on the infamous groundhogs day cliche in a sweet and meant to be love story. Countless epic moments and a story too good and crazy to be true, I fell in love with each moment and couldn’t believe the words on each page. Highly recommend this romantic twist on film’s classic theme.

I received a free advanced review copy of this nivel and offer my honest opinion voluntarily.

Jack is stuck in a 147 day loop, reliving the same day over and over again. He soon realizes the key to breaking this glitch is a girl named Gemma. The catch? Gemma has 24 hours to fall in love with him!

This was such a cute, warm & fuzzy, romcom read! I loved the groundhog day plot; I thought it was really original and tastefully written in a way that didn’t make the story too repetitive. The author’s writing is absolutely beautiful and had me swooning! It was very easy to fall in love with/feel connected to the characters, and I absolutely loved the story of Gemma and Jack.

I will say, I felt like Gemma was a bit immature for her age and caught myself thinking she was more around the age range of 20-25 rather than 32. Mostly due to the way she behaved in certain situations throughout the book. However, that is my own personal opinion.

I definitely recommend this book if you’re looking for a cute, swoon worthy read!

I would like to thank Penguin Group Dutton, Holly James, and Netgalley for providing me the chance to read and review this e-arc!

Groundhog Day is one of my favourite movies so I had to read this book. It did not disappoint. Pretty much served up exactly what a good romcom should. Fun characters, touch of spicy, and heartwarming story.

This was my first Holly James and a cute classic book with a twist. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC

What I liked: the set up and commentary, the choice of real world hang ups and problems with commitments, boundaries, and finding healthy balance. I enjoyed the besties dynamic of personality differences, and the crux of them together finding a new way to approach the day. The ending made sense, didn’t come out of left field and fit the books narrative.

What I didn’t like: Jacks ability to care so much but lack of trying so many different options, there seems to be a lot of detective work he could have been doing for himself. It’s odd to me he never spent a whole day at home for instance….also his love for Gemma was just a tad past realistic for me. Sure we all love these stories because they aren’t typical modus operandi for men, but don’t know that a man like Jack actually ever exists in real life.

Overall, this was a cute read, a bookcation from hard reading, low spice but everything nice, and I dig it.

I watched Groundhog Day when it came out in theaters in 1993, a happy 13-year-old with melted butter coating my fingers, wondering if I’d find Bill Murray attractive when I was an adult. (The answer: not really, but he wasn’t so bad in Ghostbusters). Regardless of where Bill Murray falls on my “hot or not” list, I have loved a good time loop story ever since. And although I’ve read quite a few fantastic books with time twists, they can be repetitive (pun intended). Holly James’ THE DEJA GLITCH, however, has something special that I really dig.

Gemma is a radio producer who is happy with her pleasant, safe life. She has a fun best friend, a brother she loves, and a geriatric dog to keep her company. One seemingly normal Thursday morning, Gemma runs into Jack, a charming, handsome stranger who is also somehow familiar. Gemma is skeptical when Jack reveals that he’s been stuck in a time loop, and has lived this day 147 times already. To top it off, Jack thinks Gemma might be the key to getting unstuck. Can Gemma learn to trust what her heart is telling her, and take a chance on love?

Although this is the storyline that carries the book, there are other subplots in THE DEJA GLITCH that I enjoyed just as much. Gemma’s relationship with her famous music producer dad, her best friend Lila’s influencer status, her struggle with her dirtbag rocker ex-boyfriend,
and Gemma’s burgeoning career are all interesting enough to create a great framework for a super fun book.

THE DEJA GLITCH has just a touch of mild spice and the love story is sweet and believable. The characters are well fleshed out and I can totally see it as a movie. My only gripe is the end is a little too spelled out for me and it stretched out a touch too long. But that’s a minor criticism and it didn’t take away from this book’s sparkle.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dutton for the opportunity to read an eARC of THE DEJA GLITCH in exchange for my honest opinion.

I'm going to be honest. I went into this thinking, oh gosh this is going to be so lame. Groundhog day romance? Yuck.

Well, I'm happy to admit I was so wrong! This is the cutest romcom that I've read in a while! I had to finish it in one evening; I couldn't put it down! I fell in love with all of the characters.

Thank you to the Publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to review this wonderful book!

Gemma may be stubborn but overall she was tolerable and I grew to love her.

Jack and his dedication no matter what was so charming.
This book had it all for me, fantasy, love story, and mystery all wrapped into one book.

Thank you Penguin Dutton for my gifted digital copy and for my honest review! I loved this story and can't wait to read more by this author.

This book absolutely filled my little heart with romcom joy. This SET the standard. Considering that I typically abhor time loop tropes, I ABSOLUTELY DEMOLISHED THIS. I 1000% recommend that everyone reads The Deja Glitch. It's got the humor, the romance, the plot, etc. I was never bored. If this review hasn't persuaded you yet, then maybe this will: "it's you, Gemma. You are the center of everything. My whole universe has shifted to revolve around you. I'm literally stuck on you and only you. I need you. For more than one reason."
The only reason I felt like I had to give this four stars is because I felt like there was some easy miscommunication with secondary characters that could have easy been resolved in the span of a few hours. Thank you so much to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me an arc in exchange of an honest review!

This was exactly what I thought it would be—a sweet fun read. The book is enjoyable and predictable, which I want when I read a rom-com. The cheesiness added to the charm, and I would read again.

The Deja Glitch presents a new and exciting plot for a romcom, which was what most interested me. It follows the story of two strangers, Jack and Gemma, who get stuck in a 24-hour time loop for months without a way out. Only Jack is aware of this loop, whereas Gemma wakes up and lives the day over and over again as if new, with no idea it’s occurring. The book follows their story as Jack and Gema work out whether the most outrageous idea will break the loop - falling in love within 24 hours.

The premise made me quite excited to read it, and I can assure that it was a fun and enjoyable read. However, I found the progression of the story to be quite fast paced and almost movie-like; I could picture the entire book playing out like a movie in my head, the writing, the scenes and the characters felt exactly like one. And although this is something I liked for a while, I couldn’t find the chemistry between the characters due to how quickly they jumped into the plot. I prefer a book to take its time introducing a relationship and executing it, and this one sort of flew right off with not much of a chance to connect to the characters. There were other bits and pieces with the writing that I wasn’t quite interested with and would end up skipping some paragraphs, but overall, I thought it was a fun story and would love to maybe see it as a movie one day and enjoy it further that way.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for sending me an ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review.

Dazzling and charming! I loved James's second book even more than her first. Such a fun twist on the time loop trope. For fans of Sophie Cousens!

Gemma has a meet cute with the mysterious Jack, who then reveals that he is stuck in a time loop and has fallen for Gemma, who wakes up on each redo day with no memory of ever meeting him.

I do love a Groundhog-day story, and this one was particularly good since the main character was not the one aware of what was happening. We see a single day in the loop, and although it does feel like a LOT is squeezed into that time, the result is a pretty sweet romance with a slightly fantasy twist!

Thank you to the publisher for providing a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Unfortunately, this didn't do it for me. I'm not really into time loops but this sounded cute but it was just....meh. I didn't particularly like Gemma and Jack was just okay. The romance was fine. I don't know, it just felt basic and forgettable.

cute story of a romance that happens over 1 day but really we get the 147th day of them meeting and I guess changing things up from work to family. good romance and love the friends.

I've been in a big sci-fi inspired romance kick recently, and this book was just perfect for the mood I've been in! I absolutely love the groundhogs day theme of this book, and having it set amongst the music industry was a really interesting aspect too.

This book was such a fun, light read. It was a little slow to warm up but overall the story was enjoyable and I absolutely adored the MCs. The FMC was very relatable, as I am also a creature of habit. 4.5 ⭐️

It has that Groundhog Day type of vibe. Gemma meets the perfect stranger at a party. She feels like she knows him with everything he seems to know about her, but can’t seem to know how. When they part for the night, he makes a strange comment “Please remember me”.

Jack is stuck in a 24 hour time loop and Gemma is at the center of everything. It’s a cute rom-com that follows these two figuring out what it all means and how they can get out of this loop.

It was very cute and reminded me of something that I would watch on Hallmark. It’s very squeaky clean and no spice.

Man, this story was so much fun. While I agree with other commenters that Gemma was a bit immature in the beginning, I totally sympathized with her. Regardless, I really liked her and I adored Jack. This story had me interested with every page. I liked that I didn’t find myself getting bored. I also appreciated that Gemma’s friend Lila was so supportive of her. Honestly, I really loved Lila too. I hope that’s the second story and she gets a happy ending. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for something a little different. This book didn’t make me sob like most romcoms do but instead, I found it pretty wholesome. Definitely give it a shot if you are getting bored of the same stories.
