This book can give hope to those who are survivors of incest. I thought the author did a good job writing about the lasting effects of sexual assault, and how it is possible to come out stronger through therapy. Her story is not my story, but I felt this book to be relatable.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is an open and honest look at the author's life, how she came to realized she is a survivor of incest, and recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.
The timeline jumps around a bit too much for my liking but it was easy enough to follow. She writes with such emotion and doesn't hold back. Truly and uplifting story.

This is a hard one to review because by talking about you are exposing a part of yourself you tend to keep hidden.
But luckily we live in a time when we are talking about this.
This book is absolutely needed. I know I benefited.
I related so much to the religious feeling of shame. This is why I have no religion now.
This was all very relatable. I loved the bits of history in her story was well!
