Going to give this one 3.5 stars. Thanks to Netgalley for my review copy. I hadn't heard of this one before and went into it after reading the synopsis. Very intriguing plot that gave me Finlay Donovan character vibes.
The main character, Kitty, was a pretty famous instgram influencer who was always surrounded by her rich group of friends. Not surprising that she would end up with a stalker and creepy men following her home from the bar at night. When she killed a guy following her, she truly hadn't meant to. It was a total accident but that's how her addiction started...ridding the world of creepy men, one at a time.
The beginning of this book really hooked me in right away. It has some dark comedy throughout the pages which made it entertaining. The middle got a little slow for me, hence the slightly lower rating. I still liked it, but it needed something more. The ending picked back up again and I liked the way it all came together. No epic twist though and one of my theories did end up being correct. Kitty was a pretty interesting character, but some of her decision making was a little annoying at times.
Overall though, this was a pretty interesting book and I'm glad I picked it up!

Synopsis:
**************
Meet Kitty Collins.
FRIEND. LOVER. KILLER.
He was following me. That guy from the nightclub wouldn’t leave me alone. I hadn’t intended to kill him of course. But I wasn’t displeased when I did and, despite the mess I made, I appeared to get away with it.
That’s where my addiction started… I’ve got a taste for revenge and quite frankly, I’m killing it.
This book is wickedly dark and funny and also quite disturbing - and given my mood the other day, the title kind of scared hubby given my frame of mind at that time. It is wonderfully written and a quick, enjoyable read.

I can safely say I haven’t read a book quite like this one before!
Kitty Collins is a character, that’s for sure. She is a self righteous vegan who kills men, violently, but they’re horrible men— which is enough motive for her to commit these crimes with very little guilt. Kitty Collins is full of feminine rage.
With that being said, this book has dark themes, but remains a relatively light read. It’s a dark comedy that touches on some very serious issues out there right now. There’s also a slight romance subplot, and a mystery element as well. It was a quick and engaging read. I wasn’t sure what direction the ending would take, but in the end I was hoping for a little bit more from it!
The reason it’s 3 stars is just because, although I understand it is fiction, it seemed a bit too unrealistic. I also couldn’t really connect with any of the characters, Kitty made for an interesting narrator but she was a kinda unreliable. All in all though, I did quite enjoy it and would recommend, especially to those who are sometimes fed up with men these days!

This is one that hooked me from the beginning. The pacing is pretty quick which I enjoyed, I was never left bored. It had some twists and turns and I actually had no idea who Kitty’s stalker was. It seems like the ending leaves it open for a second one … if so I’d definitely read it! Also that cover art? Love it.
This obviously touches on murder (and its pretty gory) but also sexual assault. Be sure to check trigger warnings if you plan to pick this one up!
Thank you to HarperCollins Canada, HQ Digital for this advanced copy.

This was cute and witty but not my favourite, I enjoyed it but wouldn’t recommend it to others as I found it didn’t grip me how I expected it to.

This story really pulls you in from the very beginning. Warning to the reader: it's quite graphic in some places, which is sort of the point. I did find I enjoyed it more than I expected. The author has a great way of keeping the narrative moving along without dwelling too long on any one incident, regardless of how shocking it is.
For me, personally, it hit all the notes. It was witty and funny and didn't take itself too seriously, but also makes very astute assessments of modern society, the male ego, and the female urge to please at all costs.
Docking a star because while the brand-name-dropping felt essential in the beginning, it felt quite tired partway through the book. I also found that while I enjoyed the first half of the book a lot, I found the second half of it a lot harder to get through. It was long-winded in places and the ending felt a bit rushed. I also didn't warm up to the character of Charlie very much, he felt one-dimensional. Some of the more intimate scenes also felt a bit more crass than they needed to be!
All that said, I would happily read another Katy Brent title!

Unfortunately this one was just not a hit for me. I DNF'd maybe half of the way in. It has all the pieces it needs to be a great book, but I simply did not like the author's voice and I didn't enjoy the story. If you like this type of book, maybe it'll be a hit for you, but it was (a) out of my wheelhouse, and (b) just not enjoyable for me.

This was an absolute wild ride. At times it could be quite gruesome but man, what an entertaining read.

I must start by thanking NetGalley and the publisher for my eARC in exchange for my honest review. Maybe l am too old to understand, let alone appreciate self indulgent influencers? Written only for young, self obsessed readers who may grasp the background this is based upon. It is dark, even horrific, and if that is what you enjoy reading then your review will score higher.

Loving this new little niche of books, I’m calling satirical murder! These books are quite amusing and quirky! I also loved how to kill your family and my sister the serial killer! Keep these books coming! Love that this character is giving these men the punishment they deserve for what they’ve done to women! Kitty’s taking matters into her own hands!!
