This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher for the copy. What a great book! The author has a great gift for characterisation - nuanced, interesting, believable people.

Tom Rollins receives a call from Cindy Vaughan someone from her past has found her and she needs his help. These people killed her sister and later as you get into the story you find out just how evil they are. With Tom’s help hopefully, Cindy will be taken care of, you think anything less you have not read the previous books. A fast-paced and full of action and suspense another great book to go with the series and very much worth the read.

Thank you so much Netgalley and Paul for the advanced copy! ❤️

I loved this book as I knew I would. It excites me when the detectives or cops in question solve a case that involve their close ones. In this book, it was Cindy for Tom. They are both interesting characters and I regret not reading the previous books of the series.

The story is fast paced and well-written. I like that Cindy wasn't a damsel in distress. Her expertise in IT was remarkable though that is exactly what got her into trouble in the first place. When she fled from people who kept her captive, they reached her elder sister Erica and killed her brutally. Devastated, enraged but afraid for her life, Cindy lies low until they find her house and Cindy runs to the only person she thinks is capable of helping her. There isn't a lot about Tom in the book but his ability to take several men down in a fight and strategize isn't hard to notice.

We get to learn about the antagonists' backstories bit by bit. Lenny and Hugh were the murderers working under Hugh's brother, Cameron Brewer - a billionaire. His influences and money make it hard to charge them with crimes. It's not about finding out who the criminals are but how to bring them to justice. It certainly includes a lot of blood. Recommended!

Paul Heatley is back with a new Tom Rollins story. In Hard Target he has to help a friend from the past. She is being targeted by an evil tech mogul that is trying to cover up that his business is not doing so well and the fact that he is behind the murder of her sister. This book is a wild ride and it has all the trademarks we now know from this great author. I stumbled on this series by an accident and I am glad I did it's great. I only miss one thing in this series and that is more involment with his family. for those out there that haven't tried this series or are afraid it's a Reacher clone, don't worry, it's not. I can really recommend these books and author. I also must thank Netgalley and Inkubator books for letting me read this book. Be sure to follow Paul Heatley and read his books.

This story is well written, easy and entertaining to read, and has a very good pace. However, the plot is weak like in a very cheap movie.

This is a violent thriller.

Although action packed, I did struggle with the Vigilante- Revenge side of the story.

The Main characters seemed to think they were above the law..

With people being murdered and no comeback.

I will not be reading any of the books in the series.

This starts with Cindy Vaughan, unable to go back to her apartment because there are intruders there, and carries on at a cracking pace. Another riveting thriller from Paul Heatley, and the novel kept me on the edge of my seat until I had finished it. I can’t tell you what happens next because that would spoil the book, but I can tell you that it is exciting all the way through, and I would recommend the novel highly.
