Set in Silver Town, Colorado, the first book of RUN WITH THE WOLF series features two dating wolf shifters that are embroiled investigating a case that will bring them closer together. This paranormal romantic suspense is a quintessential Terry Spears book that features strong shifters dealing with a missing person case and some jewel thief troubles. Though the couple are dating, this book delves deeper into their burgeoning relationship as they solve the problems that arises towards their happy ending. Along with the couple are secondary characters that supports the couple while also enriching the book. For those that enjoyed the author's books, this is a solid first book of this latest series with a nice storyline and a wonderful couple.

I received an eARC for my honest opinion.
This book is set in Silvertown, Colorado where we get to meet Kayla and Nate who are wolves that are to be mates, but there is something amiss in the town and it's one of Nate's cases that he took on through his business. When Nate's latest PI cases brings his mate in the crosshairs and tries to ruin his perfect getaway with Kayla, they come together along with the rest of the pack to figure out this weird case.
I enjoyed the mystery, suspense, and intrigue that the author weaved into this paranormal romance book. I thought the author did an amazing job with the plot and keeping the audience wanting to know more about what was going to happen next and to know how the characters were. The pace was well done, not too fast but not too slow, just right in the middle. I thought the characters were easily relatable and easy to connect with.
I did not read the other books before this, and I was a little worried that I would be a little lost on what was going on, but this book could be read as a standalone, but I think it would have been better to read the other first for me because I love getting to connect with the side characters as well. I really enjoyed getting to see the character development with Kayla in this book and getting to see her come out of her shell more and more. I loved that Nate was very calm and understanding about his mate and knew when to give her the space that she needed.
I will be reading Terry Spears’ other books of this series, and I cannot wait to see what else is to come with the side characters.
I want to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to review this book.
Once again we are in Silverton and we have the romance of Wedding planner ski lodge owner and grey wolf Kayla Wolff and Ex ranger turned private investigator Nate Grayson They are both grey wolves and are in a relationship but somehow have never found the time to actually mate When they deal with a bridzilla a missing person and are almost killed by escaping jewel thieves it makes then re evaluate what is important can they finally become a totally mated pair You will have to read to see
This is a fast paced fun read from an author that really knows how to write a paranormal romance
This was a slow read for me. It just seemed to drag on. Jewelry robberies, a murder and some mayhem leads to an unexpected instigator.
Steamy wolf shifter with mystery and intrigue. We are back in Silvertown and this book is Kayla's (Co -owner of the Inn) and Nate (ex Ranger - now private eye). Kayla and Nate are both covered up trying to squeeze out time to be together and still give each other space. Run With the Wolf is book 1, but we got the stories of Kaylas brothers in other books so that befuddled my simple mind. It did not take away the enjoyment. I appreciated the mystery and intrigue that starts at the beginning and plays through out. The steamy mating is off the charts (which is my skim factor). If you enjoy paranormal and like new takes on shifters along with some intrigue this is the book for you. Thank you for the arc! I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions. #wolfonthewildside #terryspear #sourcebookscasablana #netgalley
This book moved very quickly and was so engrossing that I couldn't put it down! The mystery kept me thinking throughout the whole book. I loved the chemistry between the characters the sex scenes were hot just like a typical Terry Spear book.
Terry Spear is a prolific writer of paranormal romance novels. This particular novel is about a man and a woman who have been dating, and are finally ready to take it to the next level…mating. That’s right. As in forever.
This is an interesting bit of change from traditional werewolf romance, where the “mating heat” takes over and they start ripping off clothes. Kayla and Nate seem pretty level headed in their thoughts.
For fans of this trope, there is a lot to like. Werewolf fiction that goes against the mold. and a large catalog of back story to read. There is an imaginative suspense plot that takes place in the novel. I think my only complaint is that there is a need for someone to just “brush it up” with a professional hand with dialogue. It sounded a little fan-fictionish at times with unreal speaking. For instance, Once character greets three others by saying hello and calling out each name. No one does that. There is giggling and laughing at odd places instead of just saying “he said”. That’s my only complaint, and it’s outweighed by the good.

We're back in Silver Town with Kayla and Nate. This is the story of their romance and mating, all while trying to solve a bank robbery and live to shift another day. It is a part of the Silver Town wolves series that can be read as a standalone. The gang's all here but the story is solely focused on Nate and Kayla. You won't be disappointed.
The premise of this story was interesting and I love shifter romances but the writing felt too clunky.
Some scenes like the first date we see is very slow with awkward dialogue and then the car action scene after felt like it was too quick. I couldn't really get into the romance easily cause there isn't a lot of writing about how the characters feel, its just dialogue.
I received an arc of this book for an honest review
Kayla Wolff, gray wolf, ski lodge owner, and wedding planner has been dating Nate Grayson, gray wolf and Private Investigator for over a year. They both love their careers, have a few commitment issues and have time management issues. They love and respect each other but can't seem to take that final step of claiming each other as mates, both wanting the moment to be perfect. Now a missing person, jewelry heist and dealing with a bridezilla takes even more time from this couple.
As Nate hunts for the missing person, and he and Kayla are run off the road by thieves fleeing a jewelry heist, they both begin to realize what's really important in life. Kayla with her management skills assist Nate with solving the mystery and they realize there may be a connection between the missing person and the jewelry heist.
What follows are accidents, an attempt in kidnapping Nate and Kayla, discovering a dead body, and a stash of jewelry on wolf territory. Nate fearing for Kayla safety calls in the Silver Town wolf pack for assistance in answering the question of why are full humans after him and his mate?
Wolf on the Wild Side by Terry Spear is the first book in the Run with the Wolf series. It is a paranormal romantic suspense novel set in Silver Town, Colorado. While this is a new series, the setting of Silver Town, Colorado, as well as many of the characters are familiar. It features a ski lodge co-owner and gray wolf Kayla Wolff and private investigator and gray wolf, Nate Grayson. Nate’s latest case puts the two of them in danger and they must protect each other along with some help from their pack.
Kayla is shy, reserved, hard-working, doesn’t like change, and loves her family. Nate is loyal and a planner, but he’s flexible when things change. He’s retired from the military and is also a reserve deputy sheriff for the wolf-run town. They’re both likeable characters. It was fun to see how these dynamic characters responded to the multiple events that occurred during the story. It was also fun to see what was happening with familiar characters from previous books.
Several twists and surprises enhanced the storyline. The writing was compulsively readable and engrossing. There was always something new and exciting happening. These ranged from plot twists to new adventures for the couple to danger and suspense. Their attraction was sizzling and there are a few spicy scenes.
Overall, the novel was intriguing, intense, and contemporary. It was well crafted, paced well, and entertaining; with the suspense that I enjoy in this genre. If you enjoy contemporary paranormal romantic suspense novels, then this author may be one you will enjoy as much as I do. It worked well as a standalone novel. However, having read previous books set in this town, I enjoyed spending time with old friends, too. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca and Terry Spear provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own. Publication date is currently set for June 6, 2023.
Kayla and her brothers and sister are the proprietors of a ski resort/wedding venue in Silver Town, Colorado, a wolf shifter town. She has been dating Nate, a local PI. There's some trouble when several local jewelry stores are robbed. Could a case Nate's working on be related? How will Kayla handle her most recent bridezilla? Everyone in Silver Town looks out for each other, so when people break into their vacation cottage, Kayla and Nate know they are not alone. If you want to read a sweet and spicy shifter romance, you can't go wrong with Terry Spear. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Loved this book! It's an engaging story that drew right in. I especially loved Nate's character....he was loyal, sexy, and strong. His story with Kayla sizzles and was filled with enough push/pull to keep it engaging. Add in the mysteries of the missing wolf and whodunit, and you have a winner.
Fans of the genre will love this book. This is a new author to me, but I'm adding her to my must read authors' list and starting my way through her back list.
This book is everything I love romance stories with a bit of suspense! Strong H, strong h, a well written backstory as well as a fully developed plot, mix in action, character development and spice, this is going to be a great series.
Wolf shifter town and community, relatives and mates, friends and family - and don't forget the bridezilla wedding, and jewelry heist! Quiet times and dead bodies - and just a lot of fun.
