A second-chance romance following two actors who star in the same show, and are forced to reunite for the show's final season. The novel was a little slow at times, but the characters were developed well and it was interesting to have a behind-the-scenes look at the entertainment industry and how TV shows are made! Perfect for fans of 'Funny You Should Ask'.

I really loved Ava Wilder’s first book and this one was a just as lovely book to feed into my celebrity trope addiction!
I love a good celebrity trope, and this time we have a enemies to lovers/second chance love story between two celebrity costars of a mega popular Supernatural-esque style tv show. They have a history and are forced to coexist- and it is so good!
I really loved this one and am such a sucker for a good celebrity trope but I really loved the paranormal tv show aspect and felt my own Fangirl from early 2000’s rise with the situations described.
I recommend for any lovers of contemporary romance and the celebrity trope!
Thank you so much to the publisher for an advanced copy.

I did not finish this title in advance of the publication day, but do intend to finish reading later down the line.

Hats off to Wilder as this was a fun one! I wasn't expecting a romcom with as much depth as this story has. Lilah and Shane's chemistry is evident from the first moment they meet and it never falters. Their emotional journeys over time are realistic and I appreciated that.
Lilah Hunter and Shane McCarthy met at the auditions for a television show. They both felt the attraction and soon became a couple, but broke up after the first season. They spent the next couple of seasons of the show ignoring each other until Lilah finally left. Now, she is back for the ninth and final season of the show and things are about to get real.
With a dual POV, the characters were well developed and the steam was just right!
Read this if you like a good enemies to lovers/Hollywood romance.

This was a fun read, but I just didn't get the chemistry between the two characters. I know we are supposed to pick up on their massive chemistry, but I just couldn't connect to them.

The dual timelines and dual POV had me a bit confused on what was happening when. I definitely thought some past stuff timing was happening at present day. Also - why did they end up together at all?! Not my fave!

Will They Or Won't They follows the past and present relationship of Lilah and Shane, two actors who are immediately attracted to each other while auditioning for the starring roles of a new tv show. The show is a huge hit and the two actors develop a secret romance. Fast forward to the present, the readers see how anxiety, misunderstanding, and lack of communication led to a breakdown in the relationship while still having an emotional connection to each other. This books fits the enemies to lovers and second chances trope perfectly. While at times, I found the characters reactions to situations aggravating, I think it was also because I saw myself in their self-doubt. I look forward to reading more books by Ava Wilder, and highly recommend this book.

I am still waiting for my heart rate to settle down so I can type out my thoughts on this book. First, I LOVE a good enemies-to-lovers and second chance romance tropes. Second, tag on a good celebrity romance and I am drooling.
The level of angst and pining in this book had me turning page after page. I was so into it. The characters are both flawed and just so perfect. I felt the author did such a good job balancing characters who were at times quite unlikeable with endearing qualities that would make them vulnerable enough to bring me as a reader back in to rally behind them.
My favorite part was how they ended up finding each other and how one of them surrenders to their feelings in such a huge and romantic way. Also, THE ENDING! I didn’t see it coming! Loved it so much!!!
I host a podcast with my friend LA called “What Did I Just Read?”. At the end of the month we so a book wrap up episode where we highlight 3 books that really stood out to us that we read that month. Of course, this was one of my picks for July!
Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for granting me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a great celeb romance book with a main character that has general anxiety disorder. It’s easy to read, hard to put down, and you really root for the relationship that they made a mess of over almost a decade. Hard not to see parallels with these two and Nina and Ian from The Vampire Diaries.
I’ve now read both of Ava Wilder’s books, and I gotta say I enjoyed this one a lot more. I thought it struck a better balance between the personal issues and romance, and built a healthier relationship overall.
👍
+ The tension! The book does a great job of building up almost a decade’s worth of tension, with misunderstandings, denied feelings, and lots of “just kiss already!’ scenes.
+ I quite liked both of the characters. With dual perspective books a lot of times I find myself looking forward to a specific character’s chapters but not in this one. They’re both competent, talented, funny, thoughtful, giving, and quite flawed. While this might make it seem like they’re similar, they’re really distinct and three dimensional characters. Plus I always love a man who’s so open and ready for love.
+ Even though I don’t usually like the misunderstanding trope, I think this book does it right. The choices and interpretations the characters make align with who they are, so nothing seems unreasonable or for the sake of plot.
👎
- This is mostly a vague nitpick, but I didn’t love one detail about the ending that made it possibly more realistic, but also like a plot twist for the sake of it. It seemed unnecessary and I think not having it would have shown better growth from the characters.
Overall rating: 4.2 ⭐

This is a Hollywood enemies to lovers and second chance at romance book. Lilah and Shane are brought back together for the final season of the show that started their careers, went through their break up and is now bringing them back together. Due to their hostility towards each other on the set the network orders them to have counseling sessions, where they end up growing closer.
This was an ok story for me. There was nothing that I absolutely didn't like about this book but then it didn't really wow me either. The chemistry between the two was just off and my heart just wasn't into them. Others seem to love it though so it may have just been my mood at the time of reading it.

Oh Ava Wilder, you’ve done it again. 💕
This romance was everything I wanted it to be. It was funny, heartfelt, and a little bit spicy. I could not get enough of Shane and Lilah.
My favorite thing is that you got both MCs perspectives in both timelines here. And because you were both in the past and in the present, you never knew where “Awh” or “hot cha cha” moments were going to show up!
It really threw the normal romance story arc on its head!
And I’ve got to say - listening to the audiobook made my workouts fly by. And made me work out longer so I didn’t have to leave the world of Intangible.
🎧 Audiobook notes: Now, one of my biggest pet peeves with audiobooks (especially dual narration ones) is that the male narrator often makes the female MC of the novel sound absolutely insane or like Elle Woods. There’s rarely an in between. I’m happy to say that both narrators here did a great job with the MCs and with capturing the emotion that was on the page.

Thank you NetGalley and Dell/Random House for the ARC! I know I’m a little behind on reviews, but sometimes life gets in the way.
This one started out a bit slow for me. The animosity between Lilah and Shane was a bit frustrating. But it definitely picked up with the help of flashbacks and different time periods of their relationship.
After the first 1/3 of the book, I definitely got sucked in. I quite like how Ava Wilder shows us the human side of celebrity-life in her novels.
I won’t get spoilery, but this one is definitely a must-read!

ADORED THIS BAD BOY
after reading how to fake it in hollywood last year by the same author i was stoked to get to the chance to read her new novel and it certainly didn’t diss appoint! jam packed with such a swoon worthy romance and the most lovable characters you can’t help but root for, this is one of my favorite romances of 2023 hands down!

This is my second book from Ava and I love her writing style. I knew she would be my must read author since How to Fake it Hollywood. Incredible character development. I loved the tension. It's just really well written. you won't be able to put it down. It's a perfect summer read. I also loved the cover so I'm getting the printed version as well.

We've got a second chance, enemies-to-lovers celebrity romance book here... and it unfortunately wasn't a very fun ride.
Shane and Lilah were two up-and-coming actors, cast on a hit television show as a result of their palpable chemistry. However, unlike their characters who leave the audience wondering "will they or won't they?", Shane and Lilah did... and they probably shouldn't have. When their personal relationship ends badly, their professional relationship suffers... and they endure years and years of working alongside each other in tense, unenjoyable conditions. Eventually, Lilah leaves the show, making a clean break of things.
Only now, years later, she's set to make a return for the show's final season. And the energy between her and Shane is as brutal as ever... so much so that they're requiring more takes and having outbursts on-set. In order to work through their issues, they're required to go see a counselor. In doing so, all of the miscommunication between them starts to surface.
Not a huge mystery what happens from there. While I appreciated the author's efforts to humanize each of these characters, I can't say I felt invested in or entirely sympathetic to either one of them. The book's pacing felt off and I was skimming to get to the end of it. Still chasing the high from my go-to celeb romances, Birds of California and Funny You Should Ask. Sadly, the search continues!

I really enjoyed Will They or Won't They! Second chance romances are my favorite, and I loved following along with Lilah and Shane as they found their way back to each other. It was paced really well and the buildup from L&S working together to gradually coming back together was believable, which I feel like isn't always the case. Dual timelines can also be difficult to do well but Ava did a great job and she has become an auto-buy author for me. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the e-arc!

this book was a great idea! it had so much potencial delving into what is like working as a couple in a famous tv show, and how can that blur the lines between the actors, howeverrr.......the whole thing fell flat for me.
i did not connect to ANY of the characters at all and I truly mean that. and this a huge problem in any book, but especially in a romance book we spend to much freaking time with the main leads.
while shane was the typical romance lead with literal no flaws, lilah was just so annoying, jesus christ. dont get me wrong, i love love flawed female characters, but lilah was just plain unlikeable.
i also thought the animosity between them didn´t last as long as it shouldve and it all just felt like (???).
at least the smut was good.
thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing for providing the arc in exchange for an honest review :)

Another hit from Ava Wilder. I got the pleasure of meeting Ava at a book signing recently and purchased the paperback as well as read the NetGalley. What an amazing author who I feel like it’s just getting started. I can’t wait to see what else she writes. This one was funny and hit all the spots. A perfect book to read.

When Lilah returns for the last season of their hit paranormal TV show, her costar Shane isn’t exactly excited to see her after the two had a relationship during season one that ending on bad terms. Onscreen, their characters are in love. Offscreen, they may be falling in love?
This was fun! I liked the enemies-to-lovers, second chance tropes. I feel like I’ve read a lot of on-set romances this year, but this was a fun twist. I was super surprised by the ending - it got me!

I was expecting this book to be way more dramatic and messy after Ava’s last book. If this is one of your first celebrity romance stories, I think this a good place to start. It’s the epitome of a second chance romance and very character driven. The characters themselves seemed to be pretty vanilla, there was a lack of depth about who they were without each other or their jobs. They weren’t memorable, but the male main character was really lovable.
I struggled with the pacing of the story. Some parts were slower than others and the timeline jumped around quite a bit in a way I found to be confusing. I enjoyed the twist towards the end, but the sudden jump made me feel like I was missing something.
I think Ava always does smut REALLY well and the friendship dynamic of the story was so good that I was hoping for more of it. I think it would be really cool to get a spin-off from one of the girls in this friend group. I also loved that Ava seems to be creating a whole little world of famous, interconnected but stand-alone romances, kind of like TJR.
