If you are a fan of Hollywood romance stories then this is the book you’ll want to have on your shelf! I really liked the reunion between the two cast members and think that this is the perfect romance novel for any fan of contemporary romance books!

I adored Wilder’s previous book, so I was super excited for this novel. I was slight less thrilled when I saw it was a second chance romance, which isn’t on my top tropes list. I shouldn’t have doubted. Wilder brings sizzling chemistry and characters that have truly grown as people since their first attempt at a “relationship.” There’s a bit of spice, but it’s mostly focused on the leads moving forward… sometimes with each other and sometimes not.

Ava Wilder does it again! As a huge fan of Wilder's first novel HOW TO FAKE IT IN HOLLYWOOD, I was over the moon to receive this ARC from NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, Dell in exchange for my honest review.

WILL THEY OR WON'T THEY tells the story of Lilah and Shane, who play beloved love interests on a supernatural TV show; when Lilah returns to the show for its final season, after a dramatic exit years prior, sparks fly between her and Shane once again. I loved this second chance love story that hit on so many important and believable topics, like mental health, forgiveness, redemption, family, and how identity and career comingle. I loved Lilah and Shane, their messy history and their bruised hearts, and the cast of characters around them. I would highly recommend this novel to any fans of romance, Wilder's first novel, or anyone just looking for a lovely, heartwarming read. I will return to this one again and will automatically read anything Wilder writes from now on!

I really liked Will They or Won’t They…maybe even more than the first by this author! I loved the TVD-like drama show as a backdrop, the second-chance, the dual POV chapters, and the elements of mental health. Overall, such a fun read and I can't wait to see what comes next for this author.

I loved How to Fake it in Hollywood by Ava Wilder! I wanted to love Will They or Won't They just as much but for me there was just too many parallels between the two and it couldn't keep my attention.

Lilah and Shane met at an audition for a then-upcoming show. Instant attraction worked out well for them as the show would cast them both, becoming a defining moment in both of their careers. But when their secret romance leads to a bad breakup that made working together a little... difficult, and you have a perfect recipe for disaster.

Now it's ten years later, and they are reunited for one last season. Can they put aside their differences (and their attraction) to help say goodbye to their fan-favorite show?

This was a stellar romance. Fun, funny, steamy, and full of tension and angst. I also liked that it touched on heavier topics like anxiety and imposter syndrome. I also really enjoyed the dual POV and thought it was done so well! This is my first book by Ava Wilder, but it will not be my last!

This book was so cute. I really enjoyed reading Shane and Lilah’s story, and while the pacing sometimes felt a bit weird to me (lots of present time jumps, and flashbacks) and the writing was lacking for me in some areas, I think overall, Ava Wilder wrote a thoroughly enjoyable read. There was SO much angst and pining and yearning and love and banter. I found myself excited (and eager) to pick up this book each night when it was time to wind down. It kept me engaged and, true to it’s title, wondering will they or won’t they for most of the story.

Cute enemies to lovers/second chance romance. I liked the second half better - plot moved a little faster. Everything you rom com box checked!

Oh me oh my! This second chance romance follows Shane and Lilah, two actors from a popular suspense show who LOATHE each other. Well when they’re forced to work together again, they start to slowly talk things through even if they have to have a therapist there to mediate. Will they be able to work through their differences and be civil with each other or will they and their careers go up in flames in more ways than one?

I really enjoyed How to Fake it in Hollywood last summer, so Will They or Won’t They was a for sure read for me.

Will They or Won’t They has the similarity with her previous book in the sense that they are both dealing with actors/Hollywood life.

I didn’t find this one to be as engaging and thought the characters development was a little jumbled with the flashbacks throughout. It had the potential to be great, but unfortunately it ended up falling flat for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Ballantine for the eARC! I love a will they or won’t they, and this one piques my interest as it’s about two love interests on reuniting for a new season of the TV show they played love interests on. Unfortunately, I found the novel to be very slow and very little happened until the last fifth of the book. The characters felt flat until this point and I wasn’t interested in their relationship nor did I feel much chemistry between them. If their previous relationship could have been showcased more I may have been more invested in them as a couple.

A delightful peek behind the the curtain of the relationship between two tv stars with more heat between them than the Los Angeles sun.

Ava Wilder is my newest auto-read author. I loved this book - the characters were so realistic and charming (flaws and all) and their tension was built up masterfully. I read this book in one day because I was so eager to get to Lilah and Shane’s happy ending.

I'd like to thank Netgalley & Dell / Random House Publishing for this ARC. This was one of my first "Hollywood" reads and I now get the appeal! This was definitely a slooooooow burn book build up between Lilah and Shane, but by the ending you get a resolved ending. The ending was a little bit of a let down for me, but it also allowed for you to fill in your own ideas of how they may live happily ever after. My only critique would be I wish each chapter was labeled from who's POV you were in. Sometimes that felt really confusing to me until I was a few pages in and could tell who was narrating. A cute feel good read!

"I just finished reading 'Will They or Won't They' by Ava Wilder and let me tell you, it was an emotional rollercoaster! This Hollywood second chance romance had me completely invested in the complicated relationship between Shane and Lilah. The tension and angst were off the charts, and I couldn't put the book down. Their chemistry and the way they pushed each other's buttons had me on the edge of my seat. And let's not forget the spice that added an extra layer of excitement to the story. If you're looking for a book that will keep you gripped with anticipation and make your heart race, 'Will They or Won't They' is a must-read!"

Lilah & Shane met when they worked on the same tv series, they had a falling out, so she left the show. Now it's a few years later and Lilah's career never really took off, so she's back on set with her nemesis.

Enemies to loves is not my favorite trope because inevitably there's going to be some miscommunication and boy do we have it. Neither character is really likable. I did not like how rude Lilah was when she ended their secret relationship years ago or how Shane handled it. He could have been so much more mature. Actually, I didn't find either of them mature really for being in their 30's. Her throwing a fit about the donuts annoyed me. I usually like banter, but it was too much for me in this one. There's some jealously thrown in, too, with an assumption and you know what happens when you assume....

Overall, this was just fine for me. I am happy there was dual POV and timeline to help get a feel for both of their sides of the story. I like the cover, too.
Currently an editor's pick for best romance and 4.2 on Amazon, so I seem to be in the minority. I think this would appeal to enemies to lovers fans.

I was able to listen to an audio copy as well.
Narration notes ~ they both did a great job. I was pleasantly surprised there were two narrators since it was told in the 3rd.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this book. Will They or Won’t They is a fantastic second book from Ava Wilder. It’s a pretty straightforward enemies to lovers story with so much romance and even more angst! I really enjoyed Lilah and Shane and their banter. This is definitely one to check out, especially if you enjoyed How to Fake it in Hollywood.

👻 “I blew things out of proportion, now you're blue
Put you in jail for something you didn’t do
I pinned your hands behind your back, oh
Thought I had reason to attack, but no.”

The next book in my celebrity romance era was STELLAR. It was an amazing second chance slow burn which I normally don’t love, so that should tell you how great it was.

WYOWT follows two actors in a paranormal TV drama (think Vampire Diaries, but she’s a ghost). Lilah and Shane’s characters were in love on screen for years being shipped by their intense fans, but they hate each other off screen leading to Lilah’s exit in season 5. But now a few years later she’s returning for the final season + their off screen relationship is tenser than ever while they have to deliver that happily ever after for their fans.

This enemies to lovers dual POV has incredible banter, chemistry, + connection! Plus you get a one bed scene! 👏🏻 Like I said it’s a slow freaking burn, but SO worth it. Also the TWIST, I can’t! 😲

If you’re looking for a good palate cleanser or something to get you out of a slump, this is it! SO obsessed!!✨

How to Fake It in Hollywood was one of my favorite books in 2022. I was excited for the opportunity to review this one. The costars have a complicated past and miscommunication is a huge obstacle. Ava did a great job building up building up the tension between Lilah and Shane. I did not anticipate the slow burn of their story but loved their ending. I can’t wait for Ava’s next book.
