This book solidified Ava Wilder as an auto-buy author for me. It hit the same notes as her previous book, but without being repetitive or reliant on the exact same tropes. A very, very fun story!

I love, love, loved this book!! I prefer my romances with a solid side of relatable characters I can empathize with and grow attached to, and I felt that way about Lilah and Shane. I appreciated and related to Lilah's struggles with anxiety and feeling scared to let people know the real, vulnerable sides of her. I too can become prickly and push people away when the anxiety and self doubt creep in.
This was a fun, sexy, quick read with characters I loved rooting for - 4.5/5 for me!

Definitely really liked this one! The tension is highhhh throughout and you can really feel the internal back and forth in the main characters. I do wish we’d gotten a bit more fleshed out back stories and more robust side characters, but the pacing was really good, and the writing was fun and funny without going over the top. Another Hollywood romance that really hit the spot for me.

Lilah and Shane have a complicated history. After costarring on a hit show for multiple seasons, Lilah leaves to (hopefully) become a movie star. For various reasons she ends up working with Shane again and the tensions run high.
I really did enjoy this book and the characters were likeable for the most part. Lilah's background left a bit too much to the imagination, or maybe I missed something? It just seemed like she was a bit too closed off based on what was told. Overall, I really enjoyed their dynamic and the story was sweet. While it did drag from about the 70%-85% marks, boy did that last bit get me. Definitely recommend.

This book was cute, but I’m not big on back and forth. I like banter and a good buildup as much as the next person, but it felt a little like whiplash. Maybe I’m just not well versed in the nuances of relationships but it just felt very stressful. The characters were great though, I loved getting to know them and love them on their journey back to each other. I also really appreciated the little details that were added in from Lilah’s pov, like realizing that when Shane wrote the buzzwords on his hand, he was helping her and not making fun of her.

WILL THEY OR WON'T THEY has made Ava Wilder an auto-read author for me. I really liked her debut, HOW TO FAKE IT IN HOLLYWOOD, but I think her sophomore release was even better. One of my favorite aspects of her romances are her spicy scenes -- I know everyone's tastes are different but Wilder writes hers in a way that hit just right for me personally, i.e. I actually find them hot and not at all cringe, which can be pretty rare. Beyond that, I love her characters and plots (she writes Hollywood very realistically, not overlooking the glamour of privilege even while exploring its pitfalls) and the writing is engaging and entertaining. In particular, I loved that she didn't fall back on the tropes she could have (second half misunderstanding the couple must overcome for the happily ever after) and in fact by skirting it actually wrote somewhat of a twist ending that felt very refreshing for the genre. Highly recommend both of her books for any contemporary romance fans out there!

This was ... meh. I was bored. It took me like a whole week to finish it, and I'm usually a book a day kind of person. I wasn't convinced by Shane and Lilah; I didn't feel any chemistry between them and the story felt totally flat. I felt like I was just reading words on a page rather than being immersed in a story which totally ruins the experience.

“The privilege to build the rest of his life by her side, his fate permanently intertwined with hers, wherever it led.” ✨

This may just be my new favorite celebrity romance book 🥹💖🫶🏼
This was a second chance lovers go enemies to lovers romance & wow was it AMAZING! 🤩 I loved the two MCs - Lilah and Shane - and thought that their relationship developed in a realistic way! 👏🏼
& there was some great tension between them 🥵 from the nude photo shoot scene, talk show appearances, therapy sessions, and a one-bed situation - I was very happy for them when they officially let themselves acknowledge their feelings for each other 🥰
I was so nervous for the third act breakup bc I absolutely did not want the characters to have to go through that - & Ava did an amazing job of subverting it in a unique way! 💗 It made for the perfect HEA for Lilah and Shane 💌

similar to - but i think better than - how to fake it in hollywood. i love a good pine, an explosive relationship like lilah & shane’s. i liked that they were working on a tv show with a long history, so that wilder could play up the connections between characters & the family aspect. a decently quick read for me (currently, at least) with a nice pace!

Lilah and Shane co-star in the popular, 9-season running show, Intangible, where they play a pair of star-crossed lovers. In real life however, they are now sworn enemies. After a falling out and failed romance with Shane, Lilah leaves the show only to return for the final season several years later. As their onscreen romance starts to heat back up so does their real life connection.
Another good read by Ava Wilder! I actually enjoyed her characters more than her previous book and it was very easy to connect with them. The story was well written and a quick read.
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC!

I think it’s official. Ava Wilder is an auto-buy author for me.
I LOVED Ethan and Grey in How to Fake It in Hollywood. When an author’s debut is so good it’s easy to worry that what they do next won’t measure up, but that’s not the case here. Lilah and Shane were witty and cruel and sweet and spicy and just pure fun to read. Shane is just straight sunshine and I loved seeing the strength in Lilah’s character, especially as a woman. From lovers to enemies to lovers, this was a solid read all the way around.
My only con was that it felt like Lilah was a little too dramatic sometimes and it felt like she could be extra mean for no reason. But I still loved her and would definitely recommend.

All I can say about this book is wow, wow, wow! These characters were so relatable and had me guessing if they were going to get together or not. The plot was so well developed and thought out, that it will keep you guessing until the very end! I laughed and I cried and I screamed, but this journey was so worth it! This is one book you need to read, so you can be as obsessed as me!

If you like lovers to enemies to lovers, then and now story lines, and celeb romance with some spice, this is the book for you! After reading Ava Wilder's last book I knew I had to read this one. Lilah and Shane were both former costars and lovers turned sour. With Lilah's character making a reappearance on the final season of the show Lilah and Shane are once again thrust into each others orbits. I loved seeing the push and pull between Lilah and Shane in both the then and now time lines. You really do get to see the growth of the characters over time.
Thank you Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, Dell for the eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a hot, hot, hot read!! I'm not typically a huge fan of celebrity characters, but I genuinely enjoyed the intensity between Shane and Lilah. There's something incredibly intoxicating about a love so passionate that it pushes and pulls back and forth for years until it finds the right time to just click. I also appreciate stories where not everyone is 22, so thank you for making characters that are realistic and relatable with real-life experiences. Well done, Ava Wilder 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!!!

Costars who hate each other offscreen with an enemies to lovers plot? Sign me up!
Just like the title suggests this whole book had me wondering whether or not Shane and Lilah would end up together. Some highlights including Shane falling first, Lilah with walls so high around herself no one can get it, a slow burn, no third act breakup, and the DRAMA!! This book was a fun one to read.

adored this! celebrity trope, enemies to lovers, second chance romance- everything i could want in a book and more. this was a warm hug in a book and i loved every minute. thanks netgalley & the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars. This was my first Ava Wilder book and I really enjoyed it. I liked her writing, so at some point I want to check out her other book(s). This book has the co-star/Hollywood energy, which I love!!!! This also has second-chance romance, miscommunication, and enemies-to-lover tropes. Love it all except for miscommunication trope, which is why I deducted a star. The chemistry was phenomenal and I was rooting for the main characters, Lilah and Shane, the entire book. Such a great read and I definitely recommend it.
thanks to netgalley and the publisher (random house publishing group, ballantine) for the arc! all opinions are my own! Releases June 27th 2023!!

“As he looked into her eyes, he knew without a doubt, down to the marrow of his bones, that he wasn’t just in trouble. He was completely fucking in love with her. The knowledge didn’t bring any him comfort, though, because it didn’t matter what he felt if she didn’t feel it too. And on the off chance she did, he suspected she was constitutionally incapable of admitting it. But even if they never saw each other again after the show ended, he knew she would never ever work her way out of his system.”
I don’t know what she put in this, I don’t know what she put in this but it’s crack. The more and more I read this book the more I felt like I was being pulled into a drug induced haze or something. This absolutely solidifies Ava Wilder as an auto-buy author for me.
This book is about two actors who are principles on long standing show. Think Damon and Elena from vampire diaries. They get involved during the first season and decide to end it, then she leaves the show after 5 seasons to pursue bigger and better things. Which subsequently results in him/ other cast + crew resenting her, but ends up back on the show for the 9th and final season after a movie she did flopped.
Ava Wilder struck the perfect balance between hate and love the entire book the spice is piping hot and the tension is freaking delicious. I ADORE these super-flawed fleshed out characters.
Overall, I feel like I’m still processing this one. Maybe I’ll add more thoughts to this review in the future.

Ava Wilder does Hollywood romances so well. She is two for two so far. HTFIH was good, Will They or Won't They is just as good. Bingeable? Yes!
Will They or Won't They is a second chance love story. The story of two people, Lilah and Shane, who weren't ready for each other at the time. 8 years after their break up they are ready to finally have the necessary conversations. There were so many things left unsaid and so many misunderstandings.
Lilah and Shane were stars of a show. (Think Vampire Diaries). They were together for a short time. They kept it under wraps. When Lilah realized Shane was catching feelings she ends it and a couple years later she exits to show to try her hand in more "serious" acting. After a disappointing few years she comes back for the show's final season. There is tension in the air. The producers, clueless about Lilah and Shane's past, schedules a racy photo shoot to promote the final season and these two almost lost themselves to the carnal attraction. The tension continues during the filming of the last season though. It looks like the stars of the show don't get along well. So the executives send these two to couple counseling. And there Lilah and Shane's secret relationship starts unraveling. They slowly let out the big emotions not only when they are with the therapist but when they are alone. They start having honest conversions. Shane lets Lilah in his insecurities. What should he do after the show ends? He is not as talented as Lilah. Does he really want to be an actor? And Lilah softens up. She slowly lets Shane in on her own issues. Is she too high maintenance, too unapologetically focused on her career ? Does she deserve to be loved for exactly who she is? Does she want a public relationship?
This book was full of tension. The slow burn was so delicious. Watching these two who had been intimate before, the resistance to the temptation, the push and pull and just waiting for when they will just give in was torturous. They needed to clear all the misunderstandings and go slow this time to get it right.
Second chance romance done right!

Ava Wilder absolutely nailed it once again in her second book. Thank you to Ballantine Books and Netgalley for providing me with an e-ARC to read and review. I loved this book. There was second chance romance. There was enemies to lovers. There was the fake Hollywood setting and I was here for it. The sexual tension and slow burn was immaculate and I was truly rooting for these characters the whole time. Lilah and Shane were fabulous, from the bickering to the spicy time to the real and raw vulnerabilities they both showed, truly a 10 out of 10. Also Lilah is Jewish!! I wasn't expecting that going in, but there were a few times she mentioned it and I appreciated that. This book had an air of sophistication while also being light and funny at times. I can't say enough good things and I love books that pull me in like this. There was a tiny twist at the end and I was internally screaming, but everything was great. Overall, highly recommend this wonderful book.
