I have to say this book was an amazing read. Cain is the man above all men in this book. Needless to say that he’s favorite character. Hi compassion for young Cybil and her brother Dane tugs at the heart. The intense energy between Cain and Adam reverberates through the story. These two brothers story is just one of many stories in the book that gives readers one heck of exciting stories in the book. The Bishop I will say got on my nerves a lot. He goes around being a jerk and acting as though he’s God. Get a life. I mean come on. Poor Larissa is whipped. Cain and his new mate. I forget the child’s name. Come on man you nearly force your way with her to make love to you. My favorite part in the book is Juniper and her aunts telling the real story behind the undead, the Elders and the healers. This the part that’s real page turner for me. I liked the story a lot. I think that there are some things that the writer may need to clear up.

High 4 ⭐️
I really liked this. The Prodigal Son by Lydia Michaels was my first read by her and it was a stand-alone even though it was book 3.
I’ve read a lot of vampire books and I thought this was good. It had a good pace with an interesting story. The romance was so steamy I thought it was going to catch on fire. I’m anxious to see how this will play out!
I can’t wait for book 4 and highly recommend this one.

This book was so super interesting and exciting! I really enjoyed reading this book and I loved Destiny soo much. While I did like Cain there were some things he did that frustrated me. At the same time I still emphasize with him and what his family puts him through. One thing that was a bit weird to me though was Cain and Destiny’s relationship. I thought it was weird how their relationship developed but I definitely enjoyed their banter! Overall, A pretty good book!

Okay... so. I thought the weird possessiveness and borderline assault that Adam displayed in the first book was just for that specific pov story. But no, it carried through a lot of this one too. I like Cain, but man. I really struggled to get around all of the awful misogyny and trauma within the triangle of this book.

Prodigal Son is set to be published on December 27, 2022. Thank you to Bailey Brown Publishing, NetGalley and the author for the Advanced Reader's Copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

3.5 stars

Amish Vampires, passion, intrigue and feuds. This book starts off running. It immediately dives into the action and didn't slow down until a quarter away from the end. I couldn't help my need to find out what would become of these characters, but sadly not the main heroine Destiny. I didn't get enough of her character to truly know her. She felt only half baked. That being said, I really liked broody Cain, love sick Dane, and enthusiastic Vito. Michaels has built an interesting/dark vampire world filled with soulmate's, death, religion and sex. Yes, certain things were predictable and sometimes cheesy, but I enjoyed this entire book. It was fun, fast paced, sexy and different enough that I wanted to know more. I will definitely be continuing on with this series.

PS. You have to read these books in order. I read this one without reading its predecessors and I wouldn't recommend it. Each of these books is tied to one another and for a full experience they should be read in order.

Thank you Netgalley for this arc. As always my opinions and thoughts are entirely my own.

I only made it 62 pages in. I really can’t get over how horribly Adam treated Anna in the first book. It has ruined all these characters for me. He abused her, assaulted her and now I’m supposed to have sympathy for him and his bonding triangle with his brother and wife? I just can’t get over the trauma and misogyny.
