I will start by saying, I love Tessa Bailey and think she is one of the best romance writers currently. However, I didn't love this book. I felt like it jumped in too quickly to the story. I didn't understand the dynamic of the relationship between the main characters (and I read the previous book in the series). I also didn't quite buy their chemistry. The sexy times scenes were hot but I didn't quite understand the attraction to each other. It wasn't awful. I enjoyed myself for sure. I just wished for a little more build up and a little slower pace in the beginning. While it wasn't my favorite, I'll always read anything she puts out and that will never change.
Thank you to NetGalley and Tessa Bailey for my ARC.

This was such a fun story to follow. I absolutely loved the relationship between Natalie and August. The banter had me laughing out loud and the chemistry between them was palpable! I loved watching their relationship grow and how they were able to be vulnerable around each other. It was beautiful and just felt very natural. It was also fun getting a bit more of Hallie and Julian. Overall a great summer read that has me wishing I could make my way to Napa.

Thank you to Netgalley, Avon and Harper Voyager, and Tessa Bailey for sending me a copy for review purposes, all opinions are my own.

Tessa Bailey does it again! I just love her romance stories. This story centers around August Cates and Natalie Vos. Absolute enemies to lovers living in St. Helena, Ca and coming from very different backgrounds. There is a marriage of convenience between the two so that August can get the loan he needs for his vineyard and so that Natalie can get her trust money to start a business of her own. The hateful banter between these two is top notch from the beginning but the attraction between the two is also up front right from the beginning of the story. I just loved their relationship and how everything came together in the end. Oh and just FYI, his nickname for her is Princess, which totally works in their relationship. There is an excellent level of spice in this book, per usual with Tessa Bailey and it made it very fun to read. If you like a spicy but not taboo romance I definitely recommend this book.

UNFORTUNATELY YOURS - TESSA BAILEY

4⭐

PLOT -
Natalie Vos a down on her luck Napa heiress suggests a mutually beneficial marriage of convenience to a man she can't stand...only to discover there's a fine line between love and hate
MY THOUGHTS -
I really enjoyed reading this book. It has my favourite troupe of marriage of convenience, a bit of enemies to lovers and forced proximity. August was just amazing in the book an ex Navy seal turned wine maker in honour of his best friend. I liked this book better than the first one.
A quick feel good book with some amazing steam.

After being incredibly disappointed by the first book in this duology I'm delighted to say I quite enjoyed this second book! I loved the dynamic between August and Natalie and thought they had great chemistry. I did think the ramp up of their relationship after the wedding seemed a little fast, but overall a fun read nonetheless

Unfortunately Yours by Tessa Bailey ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Unfortunately Yours, the sequel to Secretly Yours is an addicting summer read! If you love marriage of convenience tropes, you will love this book! Natalie Vos is looking to jump back into finance after losing her job and to attain financial backing she’ll need her trust fund. However, she is unable to use her funds until she is married…in comes August, who is struggling to start his own vineyard and hasn’t had the best luck with the wine or the finances. This wedding could mean the solution to both of their problems but their flirtation could make things a little tricky! I love the sitter banter, funny chit chats and the overall spice 🌶️ ✨

Check out both of Tessa’s books! Thank you to netgalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the advanced readers' copy!

This is book 2 in the A Vine Mess
Natalie and August had a few run ins in the 1st book and they didnt end well.

This is a how do we each get our dream This books main trope is marriage of convenience.
I almost withdrew my request for this book since the 1st book was a barley 2 star read for me but the day before the book came out I got approved so I said lets do this.

This was better than the 1st book. I could get behind the charterers a little more then book 1. So if you didnt like book 1 you will enjoy book 2. If you liked book one then your good to go.

This sadly is not a series for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this E-Arc in exchange for my honest review

Natalie Vos was living the high life in Manhattan, working at a top investment firm and happily engaged. Until she made a bad investment and lost her firm close to a billion dollars. Not only did Natalie end up getting fired she also ends up losing her fiancé who decided he didn't want to be associated with her bad reputation. Needing to take a step back and reboot she decides to head to Napa and stay at her family's vineyard.

August Cates is a retired Navy Seal trying (and failing) to establish a winery in his deceased best friend's name. He has bashed heads with Natalie repeatedly since her return to wine country. Sadly, his wine is sub-par and Natalie finds herself in the position of Judge at several wine competitions he's entered. Even though these two can't stand each other Natalie is desperate for cash to start up an investment firm of her own. The only way to get the funds is to tap into her trust fund which her father has set up with a couple stipulations. One she must be employed, and two she needs to be married. After multiple run ins with August and out of absolute desperation Natalie approaches August with a proposal. In exchange for a marriage of convenience she will help him get a business loan before his winery goes under.

It felt like everything went from zero to a thousand with this one. August is pretty nasty to Natalie in every interaction they have. But we're supposed to believe she "presses his buttons" and he's actually in love with her. In a love at first sight kind of way basically because they've only had a handful of conversations to date. Also, I have to add another negative unfortunately. I didn't like how August makes these self-deprecating comments about himself throughout the book. I'm not sure if the author was trying to be funny with the comments August internalizes, but it didn't come across that way to me. Regardless of that I still found I loved August. I'm a sucker for a man who absolutely worships his woman. Added bonus was the chemistry between the two MC's... it's hot hot hot. Which was not super surprising for Tessa Bailey, it's a huge reason why I love her books and recommend them to fellow readers.

One of my favorites by Tessa Bailey so far! While I was not a huge fan of the first in this series, Unfortunately Yours was funny and emotional at times. I only wish there had been more interaction between Natalie and her brother Julian. I felt like we saw Natalie interact with her mother a lot and those conversations were always tense. I would’ve liked to see progress made on Natalie and Julian’s relationship as well.

Tessa Bailey’s Vine Mess series continues with Unfortunately Yours, and it did not disappoint!

If you read Secretly Yours, you’ll remember Natalie, the Vos Vineyard heiress who has recently been fired and dumped, all in one fell swoop. After moving back to her family’s vineyard, she falls in and arranges a marriage of convenience with winemaking rival and ex-navy SEAL August in order to release her trust fund from the bank. The catch is, Natalie and August really don’t get along…or do they? Bailey integrates some of the best romantic comedy tropes into her new novel, so fans of enemies to lovers and fake dating/marriage will be sure to love Natalie and August. And like all of Bailey’s best work, Unfortunately Yours is rife with plenty of spice.

I love this series! Marriage of convenience is not always my jam but this one worked for me! Natalie needs access to her trust fund but there’s a catch. She needs to be married. With no one in sight she proposes a fake marriage with her nemesis, August. This enemies to lovers definitely had me rooting for this couple! I loved them and this one!

After a mistake costs her investment firm billions, Natalie is fired and dumped by her fiance in one fell swoop. She returns to her family's Napa Valley vineyard until she can figure out what to do next. Sparks (and animosity) fly when she meets August, an ex-SEAL struggling to get his newly purchased vineyard up and running.

If you are a marriage-of-convenience fan, this one is for you. I read Secretly Yours before diving into this ARC and I must say that this one redeemed the duology for me. I did not enjoy SY (probably the first Tessa Bailey book I have ever said that about...) and am happy I didn't let that affect my decision to read this one. I am absolutely obsessed with August. He is an ooey-gooey ball of sunshine and the way he treated Natalie had me feeling all the feels. The banter and communication between the two is A++ and I just loved their story so much! I also appreciated that this delved into some deeper topics as well--I always feel like that gives the characters substance and helps them feel realistic and relatable.

3.5 rounded to 4 stars

Wow I really enjoyed this one (especially compared to how much I disliked the first one in this series) Mostly I think what made this book shine for me (besides the banter of course) was August because he was such a secret little softie when it came to Natalie and was just so cute. The spicy scenes were entertaining but sometimes bordered a bit on cringey

This was the perfect summer read: fun. steamy goodness, sparkling characters, witty dialogue and fast paced plot development. I enjoyed the author's style - everything is easy to digest and it's earned, even the tougher emotional moments. Both characters have a satisfying growth journey and are in no way cookie cutter perfect. There's undeniable chemistry that's tied by witty repartee and some steamy moments, that don't overwhelm the plot, but make this story so enjoyable. I liked it a lot, can't wait to get the next one and the previous one in this series. Very well done!

I loved this book! Natalie and August have so much good banter and I loved the rivals to lovers marriage of convenience story. August was so imperfectly swoony and sweet. I loved that August was always so supportive and would do anything for Natalie. I definitely liked this book better than the previous book, Secretly Yours. But I love Tessa Bailey and she writes some excellent spice scenes.

Okay so I didn’t love Secretly Yours as much as I’ve loved all the other Tessa Bailey books. And this one brought it back for me. I love a marriage of convenience trope and this book was everything I needed. It’s sexy and witty and it reminds me of all the reasons I pick up a Tessa book in the first place. The tension between these two is so impactful and honestly it has me frothing at the mouth! I will look forward to reading her next book.

This was a marriage of convenience- both characters had a need to be married. I had a hard time getting into this book. I think I related most to August so maybe that’s why I didn’t feel as invested in Natalie. There was still some sizzle and I did laugh during some parts. I would rate this out of a 3 out of 5. I'm not usually a fan of the marriage of convenience trope in contemporary romances, but this book made me change my mind. Nobody writes steam like Tessa Bailey, and she brings her A-game to this one.
