Unfortunately Yours by Tessa Bailey is going to be a top summer read for romance fans. We met Natalie Vos in the first book of the Vine Mess series. You can read them as stand alone but there is a lot to love in these characters. Bailey brings us a woman who has lost the life she built up for herself in NYC and brings back home many hurts to heal. In comes August Cates, who we got a taste of in book one. A former navy SEAL turned vintner, August is on a mission to make a late friend's dream come true.
What comes next is a fake marriage, healing, and the hottest, silliest banter that you will be craving throughout the book. There is a lot of heat in this fake marriage and you will be routing for them the entire book! I loved Unfortunately Yours even more than the first book in series and can't wait to read what's next for Tessa Bailey!
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Natalie needs her trust fund in order to get a second chance at her business. The only problem is, in order for its release, her dad wrote in an antiquated rule that she must be married. August needs someone respected in the community to cosign on a loan for his small business. They don’t really get along but it’s just a month and they would both benefit. What could go wrong?
Recently Tessa’s books have been over the top and a bit more bonkers. So I was prepared for a lot of silliness. However, I was surprised at just how chill and down to earth this book was. Don't get me wrong, there is still some of Tessa's signature humor but it’s cute and flirty, not in your face ridiculous. The plot was pretty straightforward. A fake marriage plot made believable because their close friends and family clearly don’t buy it but are going along with it because they know about this trust fund. The 3rd act drama was predictable but handled with some mature open communication and a decent grovel!
These two had good chemistry. It wasn’t true enemies to lovers, they just tended to razz each other a bunch at first, and then their sharp barbs turned into playful banter and pranking and it was a lot of fun.
August is a big, ex-SEAL, himbo. He was hands down my favorite part. (That and some of the teasing of Hallie from Vine Mess 1, because let's face it, Hallie was a hot mess.) There is a lot of “who hurt you?” and “my wife” and getting flustered by her. He was an adorable dummy following her around with his tongue hanging out and he had a heart of gold and substance.
Anyway, I enjoyed this. This was some pride and prejudice themes with a himbo and a weird cat.
4 stars!
Thank you NetGalley and Avon Books for this ARC!

This was truly a simple, delightful, FUN read. From beginning to end, the banter, wit and charm from both Natalie and August kept me on my toes and joyful. This another authentic Tessa Bailey story that is just pure escapism reading. The author's great writing lends itself to good storytelling with interesting and always witty characters who have combustible chemistry from the start. They both had a ton of character and so many qualities unearthed by the presence of the other in their lives. I just loved how they were seemingly so dissimilar but meshed together so well. The secondary characters were also great as usual in a Tessa Bailey book but my main focus stayed happily with the central story of Natalie and August. Another lovely read for an afternoon of lazy, purely romantic reading in the sunshine. You'll love the characters and their intriguing journey. Romance with comedy and the perfect amount of drama that makes the story so much fun.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series and I wound up liking the second one just as much. August is adorable, maybe a little too adorable to be that in love while barely knowing someone, but it was a feel good story so I liked it. From the beginning, the chemistry between Natalie and August is off of the charts so the marriage of convenience thing really didn't even seem plausible from the beginning. They both could've gotten out of it but they chose not to. I loved the banter between the two of them. This is full of romance and spice, so if you liked the first book in this series, you will love this one.

Oh my! This sure was an entertaining book! I just love August so much and how he is so in touch with his and Natalie's feelings!
I really loved seeing more Vos family growth in this story, not to mention more of Julian and Hallie!
Thank you NetGalley and Harper Avon for the chance to read this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

So good. Just sooooooo good. Tessa Bailey knows her way around alpha males who are in touch with their feelings, that’s for sure. And strong females who struggle to overcome their insecurities, but then totally do - like a boss. And naturally, her MMC’s have big d!cks and know how to use them. I’m never sure if I would cheer or run away screaming if I met that junk in real life. I’ll keep letting Tessa Bailey handle that in her books.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.

I absolutely loved Natalie and August’s story! Personally I loved this even more than the first one in the series.
A Napa native Vos family heiress, and a new winemaker without a clue have a hilarious run in that sets off an epic journey of chaos, love and redemption.
I love the passion between the pair, and if you love a man who talks dirty 😏 August is your man!
Many secrets run deep, and if you enjoy beautiful character arcs - this one won’t disappoint!

Tessa strikes again! I really enjoyed this one, more than the first one! August was such a dream and him and Natalie were so cute together. Their chemistry was off the charts! I liked that they were mainly very communicative and open with each other. I also loved seeing Natalie fine her home in St. Helen's with August and her family. 4/5 for me!

I absolutely loved August and Natalie!!! These two were two were so cute, and spicy as hell!! Not going to lie in the beginning I honestly didn’t like either of them, but as the book progressed both characters became extremely likable.
I loved that Hallie and Julian from Secretly Yours (they are my favorite) made a couple of appearances in this book! Definitely added more to the story.

Tessa Bailey does it again! I was underwhelmed with the first book in this series so I went into this one with some reservations but Ms. Bailey hit it out of the park with this one! This book felt like a warm blanket. It was so cozy and cute but also had the perfect level of spice. No one does it like Tessa Bailey!

"Unfortunately Yours" by Tessa Bailey is a captivating romance novel that skillfully combines the forced proximity, small-town romance, and marriage of convenience tropes. Natalie and August's chemistry is electric, their banter is filled with passion and tension, and their journey from enemies to lovers is both heartfelt and intense. As they navigate their complex situation, their emotional connection deepens, and readers will find themselves rooting for their happily ever after.
Bailey's writing style is engaging and immersive, drawing readers into the story from the very beginning. The well-crafted characters, such as Natalie with her independence and vulnerabilities, and August with his protective nature and surprising goofiness, are relatable and endearing. The Napa Valley setting adds a touch of luxury and charm, providing a vivid backdrop for the story and offering insights into the wine industry.
One of the highlights of the book is the seamless integration of the enemies-to-lovers and marriage of convenience tropes. The evolution of Natalie and August's relationship feels organic and believable, keeping readers invested in their journey. The passionate and steamy moments between them add another layer of intensity to the story, showcasing Bailey's talent for crafting sensual scenes with emotional depth.
In summary, "Unfortunately Yours" is a captivating and satisfying romance novel that will leave readers wanting more. With its engaging plot, well-developed characters, scorching chemistry, and skillful combination of tropes, Tessa Bailey once again proves her prowess in crafting compelling love stories. Whether you're a fan of her previous works or new to her writing, this book is a must-read for any romance enthusiast.

This is my new favorite Tessa Bailey book! This even beat It Happened One Summer, and that was top tier literature for me. This was everything I could have asked for in a contemporary romance/rom-com.
I absolutely adore enemies to lovers. The tension was palpable and done SO well. The banter between the characters was just hilarious and perfectly placed. I also adored the fake marriage trope, and really enjoyed the journey of finding out how that works for the two of them. I was hooked from page 1 to the end of the epilogue. Tessa has such a relatable and funny style of writing that just wraps you up in a big hug and carries you through the entire story.
This is an easy 5 star and one I would recommend to anyone looking for something witty but endearing. This book was so fun, I’ll be purchasing for my bookshelf when it comes out!
Thank you so much Tessa Bailey & Avon Books for the ARC!

This book was such a delight to read!! I always am down for a good enemies-to-lovers trope and this one mixed with the marriage of convenience was well done! Tessa Bailey never disappoints when it comes to writing characters with heart and depth. Also the spice was PHENOMENAL, one of my favorites from this year hands down!

Funny, spicy, and pulls right at your heart strings. August Cates is a former Seal but also the ultimate golden retriever cinnamon roll. How Tessa Bailey pulled that off is a complete work of art. This one was called by her publisher “the spiciest book of summer.” I can see that and it was written so beautifully and I couldn’t put it down.

Unfortunately Yours review
Rating: Loved
Genre: Contemporary Romance/Rom-Com
Troupes: enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience
Thank you to @avonbooks for the #gifted copy in exchange for an honest review. This publishes on 6/6/23! This will for sure be one of the hot rom-coms this summer!
Set in a vineyard in Napa, I’d recommend pouring yourself a glass of wine and settle in to finish this in a sitting - it was hard to put down! Next to It Happened One Summer (probably impossible to top), this is my favorite from Tessa Bailey. The banter between Natalie and August was impeccable, fun to read, and not over the top. That, along with plenty of tension and steam, made this such an enjoyable and satisfying read.. While some laugh out loud moments, this book also had plenty of serious moments, while August deals with the grief of losing his best friend.
I hadn’t realized that Hallie and Julian, Natalie’s brother, already had their own story, so I added that to my library holds list immediately. Readers get a little bit of a glimpse into an update of their relationship, and Hallie sounds like a hoot!

4 stars out of 5!
I really enjoyed this book more than Secretly Yours. I liked the plot of this book and I really loved August. It took me a bit to really like Natalie but I was so happy with the end of the book. The epilogue was the best part! The chemistry between August and Natalie was undeniable.
Unfortunately Yours centers around marriage for convenience. Natalie and August start off on the wrong foot but quickly realize that they could both use each other to get something they desperately want. Natalie needs her trust fund to start up her new business in New York but she has to be married and employed due to the terms her father set for the trust. August's winery is failing and he needs a bank loan but was turned down at first. Since Natalie's family is a big name in the wine business, she could help him get approved for that loan. This leads both of them to agree to get married. They both went into the marriage with it being temporary but there is a strong connection between the two. You will love exploring that connection in this book!
Overall this was another great book. by Tessa Bailey! I'm excited to read more from her in the future.
Thanks NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

3.5⭐️s! I'm rounding up because I adored that Epilogue 🥲

- Tessa Bailey signature steam and banter
There's just something about Tessa Bailey books that make them so addicting to read. Even though they're hit or miss for me, I still look forward to reading them all.
This is the second book in the A Vine Mess series. Although this series isn't my favorite (still chasing the Bellinger Sisters high) I still enjoyed this book! I found it to be very entertaining, and I read through it pretty quickly. Like I said, there's just something about TB's writing.
Thank you so much for the ARC!

Unfortunately Yours by Tessa Bailey. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Natalie and August have a love/hate relationship but can they survive their relationship? Continue reading to find out if hate wins or love wins. I'm not going to tell you, you will have to pre-order your copy today so you can read it yourself when it releases on June 6th.
I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley.

I liked this one more than Secretly Yours but not as much as the Bellinger Sisters books. I loved August's character right away but it took me longer to warm up to Natalie. The epilogue was adorable and the cover is perfect!
