No One Needs to Know reminds me that nothing online is ever as confidential as you think it is. I wasn't the biggest fan because it was super unrelatable to me, but a juicy read nonetheless.

Lies and secrets and the NYC one percenters! Three mothers are trying to get their 8th graders into a highly desirable private school and they stop at nothing to make this happen. Three mothers with wildly different upbringings so you can see how each one works differently to "help" her child. And then a husband goes missing.

Now all of that would make a good story on its' own, but add into the mix a website of anonymous posts of lying and cheating and stealing and such bad behavior that is shared because it is all anonymous and then suddenly, it's hacked and nothing is anonymous anymore.

It's a great look into the one percenters and how life isn't so great even if you have a bunch of money and opportunities. But I wouldn't say it's so much of a thriller. A good read.

I really enjoyed this one. Maybe it’s because I grew up outside of NYC, or that I lived on the UES in the early 2000’s. The characters though are truly unlikable. I think that’s fine though, I don’t need to like people to enjoy the story. This is a fast paced story, basically revolving around three families with kids at the same UES private elementary to middle school. There is a scandal, and murder that follows. People’s secrets are exposed. Six figure out who the murderer was pretty quickly, yes, did I still enjoy it, yes agin. Definitely worth reading.

Such a fun adult Gossip Girl thrill ride! It’s been awhile since I couldn’t put a book down, and this was such a binge read for me.

🎧I loved pairing the book with the audio and really enjoyed the narration choice.

This atmosphere and setting immediately struck out to me as an adult Gossip Girl. A series that I ate up in my youth.

The thriller aspect took a bit to get into which made me loose interest rapidly. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to pick it back up and DNF pretty early on.

Really enjoyed this book. It was like Gossip Girl, but with grown ups. Love when bad things happen to bad people, lol. Definitely a page turner.

You can never trust the internet even when it claims to be anonymous. No One Needs to Know follows the residents of the Upper East Side and the things they will do to protect their family's reputation. The residents thought their posts on UrbanMyth, a neighborhood forum, were all confidential until the day the site got hacked. You can never trust the internet with your deepest & darkest secrets.

This was a fun read but could be slow at times. I feel like it could be a good lifetime style movie in the end. Read on for the twists and turns.

Gossip Girl but for grown folks. A blind item website pops up and all the parents at the rich people school in NYC are using it. The only issue is that the website info gets hacked and secrets get out. Really enjoyed this one ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

No One Needs to Know gives major Gossip Girl vibes. The story focuses on three upper class women who would do anything to protect their privileged lives and their children's futures. They share all their dirty little secrets on an anonymous social media platform. But chaos ensues when their secrets aren't so anonymous anymore. This was the kind of book that you look up from your book and notice you've been reading for an hour even though it only felt like 15 minutes. Highly recommend this fast paced domestic thriller.

Lindsay Cameron’s books are on auto-buy for me. No One Needs to Know is the perfect antidote for those craving pure entertainment that is sinfully satisfying.
This novel is drenched in themes of money, class, manipulation, privilege, while integrating murder mystery and suspense. Fans of Desperate Housewives and Liane Moriarty’s Big Little Lies will indulge in this addictive story of affluent women with messy lives hiding behind a veil of anonymity before their unfiltered thoughts are exposed to all in their neighborhood. With its keen observations of three protagonists, No One Needs to Know is a story made to be devoured quickly and then discussed in book club ASAP.

If you want a great beach read that brings secrets, rich people drama, and motherhood into the mix, look no further than No One Needs to Know by Lindsay Cameron! I thought this was a completely bingeable read and I could have easily finished it in one day, which in my mind makes it a fabulous book to bring to the beach! The story is told through the viewpoints of Heather, Norah, and Poppy as well as a bit of mixed media, and I really enjoyed this structure. Not all women are at the same wealth level, but they are in generally the same social standing with their children vying for spots at the same schools. UrbanMyth is like a mix of Nextdoor rolled into Ashley Madison, and I love that Cameron included where she got the idea for the story. Now all I need to know is what anonymous discussion board for parents she knows about. 👀

I really enjoyed listening to the audiobook which is narrated by Brittany Pressley & Rebecca Lowman, and I couldn't have asked for two better ladies to voice these characters. I still think it would have been a bit better with a full cast, but overall, it was a great listening experience that added more to the story for me. Definitely recommend this route if you enjoy audio, although I did notice sometimes, we would get to the end of a chapter and it felt like the narration was ending on a question instead of a period. No way else for me to describe it, so you will have to listen to see for yourself. No One Needs to Know had a very strong start and it managed to hold its momentum the entire way through. There is a little bit of mystery going on, but I would recommend this to readers who love domestic dramas and rich people behaving badly over thriller readers and suspense lovers.

I enjoyed No One Needs to Know by Lindsay Cameron. I am always excited to read books about rich people with problems. The three main characters all had such different personalities, and I found it interesting to read about their lives and drama. I’m sure that most women who live on the UES would be appalled at this generalization of them and their lives. It was certainly an introduction to the reader to the world of the rich and the power struggle to stay there.
   The story centers around mothers with children in the same school all vying to get their offspring into the elite boarding school that will pole vault their child to the necessary college and thus maintain the family image.  They are presented as friends but in reality are in a constant competition that becomes exhausting. Their behavior was on par with teenage girl antics.
   The intrigue starts when the ladies joined a website that allows anonymous posts that can never be traced. It gives them a free ticket to bare their soul, make nasty comments about others or even invent stories that result in ruining reputations.  This  “secure”  web site is hacked and all the anonymous posts have a name attached to them: finger pointing ensues and friendships become tenuous.
    These ladies have always had the ability to make uncomfortable things go away quietly either with rewards or money to maintain their position in society. Even a murder can be squelched if you know how to go about it.

My first Lindsay Cameron read and it won’t be my last. A story filled with mystery, thrills and a great deal of suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Picture it: an anonymous online forum where New York’s wealthiest residents cry out their deepest secrets. Also picture this forum being hacked and all those dirty little secrets emerging. On top of all of this information, a man disappears. A man who’s very dirty and likes to blackmail others… In the secrets are the the low lying truths that most don’t want to be vulnerable and share.

Not being familiar with an author doesn’t give you a good feeling going into a book BUT, that changed within the first few pages of this masterfully crafted story. It had ups, it had downs and it had loads of juicy secrets from rich and highly affluent New Yorkers. This was a really great read and I cannot wait to read Lindsay’s other books. Four stars and I definitely recommend it!

2.5 Stars. I was a fan of the author's previous novel but ultimately, this one didn't hold my interest as much as her first. Maybe I'm just burnt out on this particular subgenre but I trudged through this novel and couldn't really connect with the characters. Big fans of this trope will definitely enjoy!
