Another 4 star fun read. I'm totally fascinated about the issues and drama that involves social media. Daily we see the repercussions of the downside of social media. What we say, no matter how we say it on line, it never goes away and the repercussions of what we say comes back when you least expect it. Add in a thriller mystery? Yes, please!! This was a fun read and I had a rip roaring time reading. I couldn't believe how quickly I was able to submerge myself into the story. Many times I found myself talking to the book, expecting a response. I would have gave it 5 stars, it was 50 pages too long.

Big Little Lies meets Gossip Girl (as the blurb by Liv Constantine claims) fits this story exactly! A ritzy NYC neighborhood has their own anonymous discussion board/forum where people share their darkest secrets. But of course, not everything online stays anon. Also has a bit of the USC admissions scandal atmosphere as well as we get a glimpse of what people will do to get their kid into the very best school. So might call this trashy or tacky, but I absolutely loved the gossipy nature of it. Finished in a day!

This book was overall enjoyable. There were some twists and turns that kept me guessing throughout the book. I did find a few of the characters entirely unlikeable which made this a slog at times. I also found quite a few comments that were negative and somewhat offensive about Catholics. I'm not sure the author's agenda there, but I did not enjoy it.
Thanks to Net Galley for the book to review.

I know I have a hard time relating because I am nowhere near the status or wealth of these people but it amazes me the lengths people will go to for their kids to insure they go to the "right" school, join the "right" clubs, etc. It's also amazing that people ever think secrets will stay secrets on the internet. In a story of complete scandal, ruthless parents doing anything possible to push their kids in the right direction and people with no morals, this was entertaining.

I enjoyed the premise of a wealthy neighborhood forum being hacked, spilling salacious secrets! I loved the way the author wrote scandalous (anonymous) posts on the forum. I do wish that the forum aspect had more of a focus to the overall plot. I wanted more drama! But was overall pleased with the direction of the story and the focus on a small group of mothers, who couldn’t be more different in background, coming together for the sake of their children and their reputations.

this one was way too predictable and also I’m way too sick of reading about unhinged white rich privileged women get away with literal murder and crimes involving their children

like can we not continually promote these kind of stories and instead focus perhaps on underprivileged children of color or their stories

ANYWAY I did enjoy the fast-paced quick story, and the love to hate characters - but for as quick as the plot moved, it seemed all over the place. there were so many threads that were opened (between all of the women, husbands and their middle school children for heck’s sake) - and most of them panned out to nothing or was never mentioned again

I think the storyline needed to be fleshed out a little bit more as I would have liked a more satisfying conclusion and not one that seemed strung out of nowhere

for a novice thriller reader, they’ll probably eat this one up! but this was sadly a pass from me. thank you to netgalley and bantam for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fun, entertaining read full of unlikeable spoiled rich characters that just keep taking their lives down the drain when a hacker exposes their secrets that have been posted on an anonymous discussion board. Manhattan’s Upper East Side elite is spiraling and trying to figure out who is behind it, and then oopsie doopsie, someone ends up dead. Who did it? And who is regretting their moves as it makes them look like a suspect? I’ll never tell, you’ll have to read this for yourself, but it was not who I expected, I will say that. I love stories like this, a page turner full of twists and secrets, leading up to an ending that did not disappoint.

This was great on audio, I loved reading it this way and definitely recommend it. Lindsay Cameron is now an auto read author after loving this and her prior book. I can’t wait to see what she writes next!

Thank you to PRH Audio, NetGalley, and Random House for the free copies to review.

A bunch of parents of children that go to an elite private school in Manhattan strive to get their children accepted in the next level private school, all the white trying to push the others down the ladder. They all use an anonymous website called MythBuster where they comment and ask questions without anyone knowing who they are. These snarky and mean comments start to come back to bite them when one of the parents goes missing and the police get involved in searching for them. Everyone who has made a comment on that site is scrambling to cover their tracks. This book kept my interest, as I wanted to find out what happened. Each chapter is written by one of the women involved in the mystery, I was confused with who was who within the story, as they all seemed to be very similar and found myself trying to figure out who was speaking in each chapter.

Lindsay Cameron's No One Needs to Know is normally a book I would dislike. Entitled mothers grappling to buy their children's way through life is a concept so far removed from anything I have ever experienced that I can only look on in disgust. Which is what I did when reading this novel, but in a love-to-hate kind of way. That's because Lindsay Cameron can tell a good story. I read her previous novel Just One Look last year, and loved it, so I pick up No One Needs to Know on author recognition alone, despite its less than appealing subject matter.

Speaking of subject matter, this candid novel examines the lives of three NYC mothers all vying to get their children into prestigious boarding schools. A wrench is thrown into their plans, however, by way of UrbanMyth, a social media site much like NextDoor, except all posts are completely anonymous ... until they aren't. On UrbanMyth, these uber-rich mommies dish the dirt on their neighbors and even themselves, revealing their darkest secrets, all under the cover of anonymity. But when the site's users are named in a data leak and someone winds up dead, the consequences of telling all come back to haunt them.

Lindsay Cameron has another winner on her hands with No One Needs to Know. She deftly writes and handles unsavory characters, exposing their flaws, and making it so you can't look away. Cameron really brings out the worst in her characters without a care if you hate them - her only desire is that you see them for who they are and follow this book down to the deadly end.

Recommended to fans of Big Little Lies.

OMG WHAT A STORY !!! Everyone thinks that people that live in the uber rich areas it made...especially those that live on Park Avenue in NYC. I mean what kind of problems can people that rich really have??? When the residents of the rich and powerful take to UrbanMyth to complain they thing everything is confidential...after all that is what is was designed for wasn't it? Parents, friends and others disclose all kinds of scandalous information on the website thinking everything is super confidential and know one will know who posted what. So when three uber rich mothers start posting about affairs, bank accounts, money trouble and everything in-between it's all private right? WRONG !! When someone manages to "hack" into the website and find all their secrets then someone is bound to wind up dead.

Scandal, secrets, betrayal, murder in the upper elite.

I wouldn’t characterize this as a thriller, not even really a mystery, but it was a very entertaining quick read.

I enjoyed the super messy gossip girl-esque message board posts throughout the story and seeing all the drama go down from the 3 unique points of view. I was not a fan of a single solitary character, but they made for a messy good time.

This book was juicy and so much fun! it was easy to get lost in and the characters are SO unlikable but in a way that makes you want to read it. I definitely got caught up in the scandals and absolute chaos that is created due to the app. This one was a bit of a slow burn but it really gets going at the 40 percent mark. A quick, great domestic thriller!

So fun and quite clever indeed! I though I had it all figured out but apparently I'm no where near as clever! lol. Really great writing, sharp and so fun!

This one was a page turner. We get three main ladies and they are equally entertaining. The lengths they go to,to make sure their children go to the best school(s) is crazy. They will do whatever it takes. I love all the secrets and twists this book had.

I really enjoyed this fast paced psychological thriller. Interesting cast of characters that come together due to their Children's elite school and an anonymous web site called Urban Myth where you post anonymously until it gets hacked. Fast paced read. My first book by this Author and I will definitely check out her other works. Thank you to Netgalley, Random House Bantam and the Author Lindsay Cameron for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The residents of Manhattan's exclusive Upper East Side neighborhoods, are no strangers to drama. One might say, the bigger the money, the bigger the drama. Looking for an anonymous place to vent and share their deepest, darkest secrets, as well as occasional search for advice, residents turn to an app; as you do nowadays.

It's called UrbanMyth and the promise is that it is 100% anonymous. No matter what you post, no one will ever be able to link it back to you. That sounds too good to be true, doesn't it?

In this story, we're following three different perspectives, Heather, Norah and Poppy; all women who live in the UES and have children at the Crofton School. I don't want to give any details of the drama that unfolds amongst these women, as it is really fun to watch the sh*tshow unfold right before you eyes. Just know, it's high octane, 1% problems, with twist after jilted twist.

As the interactions between the women and their families are reaching a fever pitch, hackers break through the walls of UrbanMyth, tearing them down and exposing all users. After the hack, as long as you have a person's email address, you can find everything they ever posted on the app. When an UES-parent disappears, the local law enforcement find this hack quite useful.

Will any of our ladies be caught red-handed blabbing about their evil misdoings?!

It's no secret that I love stories involving rich people drama, so No One Needs to Know had a really great shot of making me happy, and it did!

It's such a quick, fun read, especially if you are also down for some secrets and drama. I loved the use of mixed media to tell the story. Cameron included various posts from the UrbanMyth app, as well as correspondence involving the lead investigator of the UES-parent's disappearance.

I also really enjoyed the anticipation of getting to the crime. I didn't know for quite a while who, or what, the investigation was going to be into. There were so many different possibilities with all that was going on.

I thought once the crime/mystery was revealed, it was fun watching everyone scrambling around. I couldn't tell if they were covering up something regarding that, or just other various secrets they were trying not to have exposed. It was genuinely an addicting story.

Additionally, I found the conclusion to be immensely satisfying. Cameron knew just what I wanted in the end.

Overall, this is a great popcorn suspense, that will keep you turning the pages well into the night. Don't expect to fall in the love with the characters, but if you enjoy being a fly on the wall watching people's dirty laundry be aired, you should definitely have a good time with this one!

Thank you so much to the publisher, Ballantine, for providing me with a copy to read and review. This is the first I have read from Lindsay Cameron, but I am definitely looking forward to picking up more of her work.

3.5 ⭐️‘s
Three eighth graders vying for a position at an elite high school boarding school …Three mothers that will do anything for kids … When a rumor circulates in an online chat that the admission director from Andover is going to be at the Doubles Club dance, all three who would usually not attend are pushed by their mothers to do so. When a mistake is made and a picture shows up on the internet the next morning, it’s all out war! The picture is true, but the caption that went along with it was false and malicious. It’s cyber bullying, but when their current school, Crofton, gets involved will the punishments be overlooked because of the privileged? The mothers themselves have their own website called UrbanMyth that they post anything and everything on because after all it’s completely anonymous. That is until there’s a breach and Pandora’s box has been wrenched open. Everyone has secrets, big secrets and those secrets have now been exposed. When someone goes missing, there are many that could lose everything if implicated in the police search. This was a fun romp through some scandalous situations and the twist at the was good, but there were too many situations that weren’t tied up, making the ending seem somewhat abrupt. Thank you to Bantam and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
