This book is like Desperate Housewives of Upper East Side NY. I really enjoyed this story. Lies, secrets, money, status, and drama. I recommend it to anyone that’s looking for a quick, entertaining read. Perfect to devour on a plane or by the pool.
Thank you NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group and the author for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bantam publisher for the E-Arc of this book.

Rich people drama on the Upper East Side. It reminds me of an adult version of Gossip Girl. I would consider this more of a mystery than a thriller. The story follows the perspective of three POVs. Hannah, Norah and Poppy are all unlikeable characters. There just were not enough twists for my liking. Still a good story, 3 stars.

I loved this author’s previous book, JUST ONE LOOK, so I was thrilled to receive a copy of NO ONE NEEDS TO KNOW to read and review.

UrbanMyth, an anonymous discussion board cast catering to New York’s Upper East side, is where all the rich residents to go spill their secrets, from affairs, blackmail, secret bank accounts, and anything else they would never share with their friends.

We meet three women, Heather, Poppy and Nora, each of whom has their own secrets and a lot to lose if the secrets they have shared to the site are made public. The site gets hacked, and everyone’s secrets are exposed.

As I have said a million times, I love, love, love books centered around rich people behaving badly. The characters in this book will do literally anything to get what they want, and some of their actions made me gasp out loud. None of the characters are likeable, and I wanted to grab some popcorn and a glass of wine when reading about their worlds crashing down after being exposed. It was so entertaining! I found the ending very satisfying, and I wasn't able to predict it at all.

I found this book hard to put down and I believe Fans of Big Little Lies and Desperate Housewives will love this juicy domestic drama!

I cannot wait to see what this author comes up with next! 🎉

The description I kept seeing was Big Little Lies x Gossip Girl. No One Needs to Know definitely combines elements from both plus a little bit of college admissions scandal. It’s a twisty read about rich people behaving badly, mostly for the sake of their 8th graders being admitted to an elite boarding school. An anonymous online neighborhood forum is hacked, threatening to expose all the dirty secrets.

Overall, I enjoyed the story! It’s broken into the perspectives of a few women, and it was interesting to see how their stories intersected. The chapters move quickly, and kept me guessing til the big plot reveal.

Thanks to NetGalley and Random House for the ARC.

No One Needs to Know by Lindsay Cameron

Someone is dead and someone did it. That's what we know at the beginning of the book. And then we go back and watch the events that led up to this death. There are so many potential murderers and so many that would want someone dead.

We'll be right in the business of three women and their friends and family. These women have so much to lose, want so much that their wealth may not be able to buy. Their children must get into the best of boarding schools and nothing can stop that happening.

UrbanMyth is where the people of Manhattan’s exclusive Upper East Side can let it all out. Say anything, confess all, lie, manipulate, make it up or tell it like it is, because no one will know who said what, it is all anonymous. And Heather, Norma, and Poppy use UrbanMyth to relieve stress, confess what they can never tell anyone, and shape the thoughts and beliefs of others. The fun is trying to figure what what dark and dirty secrets belong to which neighbor.

And then UrbanMyth is hacked and it's all out there for everyone to see. Not just the secrets but the names that goes with the secrets. Secrets that are secrets no more. There is no taking it back, all are exposed and the results are deadly.

I couldn't help getting caught up in the mess of these women. Having it all isn't all it's cut out to be when it the costs can eat you up alive. Each woman has done the worst and now everyone knows. It's fun being on the outside looking in but I would not want to be in the bazillion dollar shoes of any of these mothers.

Thank you to Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, Bantam and NetGalley for this ARC.

This story brings up the question exactly how far will you go to get your child into the best prep school, the best college? The mothers on the Upper East Side in New York City know no boundaries.

Alternating chapters between Heather, Norah and Queen Bee Poppy we learn about all their dirty secrets and what they posted on Urban Myth. I have to say that I felt for Norah. She was the most innocent in the story, but she should have also listened to her gut. Things took a turn when someone from their group goes missing, and I did not put the pieces together until they were revealed. That was a nice little twist. Someone compared this to the show Gossip Girl, and I definitely see the resemblance.

When I put this one down I couldn’t wait to get back to it!

The author has created such an intriguing characters. When an anonymous neighbourhood forum gets hacked, the secrets begin to reveal themselves. It’s about the wealthiest neighbourhood and narrated from the perspectives of three moms with a different background. Everyone had different beliefs but a mystery brings them together. As secrets are spilling themselves from the forum. Will they be able to stop them?

There are two mysteries intertwined in the plot. And it will keep you guessing till the end but you will not find yourself even close to the mystery. The first one is related to Violet, Heather’s daughter, something unfortunate that happened the night of Doubles Dance at Crofton School and second the sudden disappearance of Bennett, Norah’s husband. Somehow the mystery of Bennett will also expose the secrets. Someone is behind all these but who could benefit by doing all these. I tried to guess and solve the mysteries but all my guesses were wrong. It’s twisted, secretive, and intriguing.

#NoOneNeedsToKnow:

“Their lives were messy. They had problems. And reading about theirs helped Heather ignore her own.”

Mixed media. We know I am a sucker. Basically, call me a vampire. Giving me these UrbanMyth Message Board reads was like catnip to my soul! I know we got a few, but oh I could have always done with much more. I really enjoyed the 3 POVs we had. (Technically 4, but I’m not spoiling that for you) I think it’s so interesting to see how different these women are, but they’re all just doing the best they can with what they have. I wish I could have seen the kids perspective because I’m sure they’d think their parents were cringe. (As most kids do)

Think adult Gossip Girl. Honestly, it’s the only way I can describe it. Lindsay Cameron has a really unique way of storytelling that really gets me interested. I binged this one so quickly because I really enjoy it. Thank you @thrillerbookpromos and @bantam for my gifted copy! No One Needs to Know is out 5/9!

I love reading about rich peoples drama and secrets and this was a really fun and fast read.
3 moms with different backgrounds from the Upper East Side collide when secrets come out on an anonymous chat thread. The scandals were definitely juicy af and I couldn’t wait to figure out how everything would end up. The last twist in the book I definitely did not see coming. 3.5 stars!

I went into this book completely blind, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

I enjoyed the plot, and liked how things unfolded as those that felt their secrets were hidden ended up being outed, and the result is a death. I wasn't a huge fan of the ending, but I would recommend this to others.

Rich people...they;re just like us, except they're really not.

I loved No One Needs to Know. It's so dishy and gossipy, and, when everyone wants him gone, the suspects in Bennett's disappearance are literally everyone. The multiple narrators really worked for giving an all-around perspective of life on the Upper East Side, the world of private academia, and the pressures of fitting into a not-at-all-forgiving society. The plot pacing makes No One Needs to Know a good one-sitting binge that will be perfect for beach bags everywhere this summer!

This book has an very intriguing synopsis and good bones- execution just lacked for me. This is a great choice for a quick “Housewives of NYC” thriller as a palette cleanser between books!

Thank you Net Galley for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this one!

This was a really good mystery with a few missteps. Well, I guess it is one where I would have liked to have been an editor and could have asked a few clarifying questions about things that didn't add up. Along those lines, I also would have gotten rid of the prologue and last chapter as they didn't add anything to the story (and you know how much I dislike those wrap-them-up-with-a-bow type endings). Other than that, it was a solid mystery with several viable suspects. However, you might be disappointed if you started this book looking for a solid suspense thriller. It is more women's fiction than thriller with the murder being somewhat overshadowed by all the petty infighting between the women.

I honestly can't decide how I feel about this book. I was expecting a thriller - especially judging from the cover - but it reads more contemporary fiction/women's drama. An group of wealthy Upper East Side women with children who attend the same elite private school intersect in an anonymous online forum / gossip site, Urban Myth. Women use the app to share their deep dark secrets - everything from affairs, shoplifting, concerns about kids, and even wanting to kill their husbands. When a series of scandals (akin to the oft-mentioned college admissions scandal of 2019) erupts, someone in their circle ends up dead.

A book blurb from a well-known author describes it as “Big Little Lies meets Gossip Girl..." which feels accurate, except there was less drama and intrigue than Big Little Lies. For me, this book just didn't deliver on the suspense that way I had anticipated and none of the characters are very likable.

If you love reading about rich people's problems and domestic drama galore this is the book for you!

I loved the use of an anonymous app to help tell this twisty story of how suburban life isn't as is appears.

I did find the story bit formulatic, but No One Needs to know was an enjoyable read.

Thanks to the publisher for my review copy!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bantam Books for an e-ARC of No One Needs to Know, scheduled for release May 2023.

It comes as no surprise that one of the country's wealthiest neighborhoods has its own anonymous forum for residents to boast about any and all secrets, whether it's their own or someone else's. Some posts are harmless but others could ruin families, livelihoods. Even knowing this isn't enough to stop some people from posting intimate details about their lives. After all, the posts and ensuing comments are confidential so what's the harm? Until one day, they're not. A "hacktivist" group breaks into the forum, exposing every poster's real identity. The aftermath leads to drama and embarrassment up and down Park Avenue -- even a little bit of murder. Is someone willing to kill to keep their secrets?

While an enjoyable, fast-paced read, I thought the novel suffered from a misleading synopsis. While the forum plays an integral part in the story, the focus is on other things until the midway point of the novel. By the time we arrive at the expose, it felt anti-climatic. I'd hoped for more intrigue when it came to the secrets as well. The majority of them sounded like typical skeletons in the closet that we've heard of before.

No One Needs to Know is a scandalous story about a digital platform where the wealthy share their deepest secrets anonymously without thinking of the consequences of their actions. for the most part these are women who are self-absorbed and don't think that far ahead. When the site gets hacked and secrets are about to be revealed, someone ends up dead.

The story is told from three points of views of characters which are not likeable at all. I didn't care how it ended. This was not the book I thought I would enjoy.

I was really drawn to the premise of this book. The modern elements of private online posting sites, photographs going viral, and the pressure to keep up with the rich neighbors felt exciting. The characters were hard to connect to or even like in many cases but that fueled the plot in a way that made sense. The action does unfold a bit slowly but overall this was a fun read about secrets, scandals, and how far you would go to protect yourself and your kids. Thanks to Lindsay Cameron, Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, Bantam, and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book was a slow burn. It centers around 3 moms and their families. Most of the characters were unlikable but I enjoyed the build up of their stories. There were parts I felt like they dragged on with really nothing happening. The ending left a little to be desired but overall it was a fun read. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an eARC of this book.

SO MUCH DRAMA! Lies, twists and secrets too.

We meet our three mains - Norah, Poppy and Heather - who live in NYC. They all live rather well off lives and have kids that attend a prestigeous private schoo. They are pushing for a fancy high school, then on to Ivy League for their little darlings. All of them post on a social media app called UrbanMyth, anonymoulsy of course! And the things they post are juicy and they would not want to be linked to their own posts.

When news breaks that UrbanMyth has been hacked, everyone panics. Apparently every member’s messages are now available to the public. All you need to know is their email address and you can see everything they posted. Tension runs high.

The husband of one of these women has gone missing, and all three of them have posted on UrbanMyth things that could make them look guilty. Things like blackmail, affairs, leaving their husband, kids doing and selling drugs.

Watching them try to explain away their posts was entertaining. And there was a little twist at the end that I did not see coming!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing - Ballantine, Bantam Publishing for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
