I really found myself wanting more backstory with this book. There was so much going on that it did make me have to keep a little list of notes to follow along with the story but it was enjoyable. I am excited to continue reading more with these characters because they leave you caring about them and wanting more.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to listen to this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

So I am entirely unfamiliar with these authors or any of their other works--though I did gather, through browsing Annabel Chase's backlist, that this is a spinoff series (or at least set in the same world as another of her series). That said, I thoroughly enjoyed 'Pink Moon' and would absolutely continue with the series!

It was so refreshing to follow an adult female protagonist--as in married, widowed, with children now off to university, 44-years-old and exploring what it might mean to live life more for herself again, rather than focused entirely on home and raising those children as a single parent. Plus we throw in a murder mystery. A fantasically magical home. Animal familiars with attitude. Savannah, Georgia and cemeteries. Ghosties. AND a fun flirtation with a too-charming-for-his-own-good-and-possible-stalker-tendencies vampire? I am sold.

Absolutely recommend if you love cozy mysteries with a side of the paranormal: an easy 4 stars from me!

"If we were all perfect life would be pretty boring."

Pink Moon by creative supernatural authors Annabel Chase and Tana Grey is book 1 of a trilogy and a stand alone.

This cozy paranormal mystery has empty nester witch Kit asked to come back to the FBM, The Federal Bureau of Magic to solve the beheading of the Queen of Hearts at a Mad Hatter party. She hates to leave her sanctuary for forgotten animal familiars (I need a story about the sanctuary!) but she can't resist the mystery.

There are fun quirky characters; my favorite is sarcastic charming P.I. vampire Palmer, a possible romance for Kit.

Narrator Carly Robins has perfect comedic timing and I loved the cultural references. Enjoy listening no matter the phase of the moon.

I requested this book because I really love all things witchy, paired up with a vampire let’s do it!
But unfortunately this fell flat. There wasn’t much magic for a book with a witch and a vampire. Also the main character is an older witch which is fine but she’s written to be an old lady closer to a grandmother.
It was alright but I t didn’t keep me engaged as I wanted to be. Maybe another story!

Loved this quick book with a fascinating world in which witches and vampires lives among the mortals. Looking forward to reading the other books in this series. Uncomplicated and fun.

This was nice. Some magic, some mystery, and a detective agency called the Federal Bureau of Magic.

After Dottie Neff is brutally killed at one of her big magic parties, Katherine (Kit) Fairchild is asked to come out of retirement to investigate her death and find her murderer, which, inevitably, brings in a cast of characters.

I didn’t know what to expect when I received this ARC, but I enjoyed this short read.

Thank you @netgalley and Dreamscape Media for this ARC.

This combination of fantasy and murder mystery helped pass the time on my daily commute. It was easy to pick up the story from day to day. Fun to listen to without requiring much heavy lifting from the listener.

I think this book was really good overall a great starting to a series I can't wait for more. The pace was pretty good the mystery aspect of the.book was on point. Character

This book started out well and I was interested in the story, however, somewhere toward the middle of the book the writing seemed to change and the story lost me. The writing and storytelling seemed to dry up.

I did like the fact that the protagonist of the book was a woman with grown children. Like me, she was in her 40s, which helped me relate a bit more to her.

I am usually not a fan of the I don't know paranormal, fantasy, I am not sure where you put the vampires, ghosts, and other otherworldly creatures that were in this book, and that might have been a bit of the reason I got bored and lost in the middle and there on out. I knew going in that it was a witchy book, and those I usually love, but the ones I have read in the past are not usually surrounded by other beings.

I think the paranormal crowd will well receive this book, I can see people enjoying it, however, it missed the mark with me, but only because of the inclusion of the vampires, etc,

Pink Moon in a nutshell: a fun and comfort read. I loved everything about this book from the characters to the plot (easy to follow, adventurous) to the surprise ending. This was my first time reading Anabel Chase's work and I can't wait to read more in the future.

Pink Moon is a short, cute story following Katherine, a witch who comes out of retirement to resume her career as an investigator for the Federal Bureau of Magic. She’s a widow and empty-nester, but her special qualities make her the only one who can solve this mystery. Honestly the story didn’t do it for me. It was cute and fluffy, but I think I just couldn’t relate to our heroine. She reminded me of Angela Landsbury from Murder She Wrote. I wanted either a more fleshed out magic system and world- on page- or a little more adult humor or wit. The book overall was just fine. 2.5 ⭐️

I requested this book from netgalley for review because I really want to branch out into more cozy fantasy. Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape media for the audiobook copy in exchange for review.

Narrated excellently by Carly Robins, this is a charming book about a Green witch, agent Katherine Fairfield. Coming from her family estate in Dark Hollow, which holds a sanctuary for forgotten familiars, she rejoins the Federal Bureau of Magic, investigating a murder case along side an attractive Vampire PI.

There unexpectedly wasn't a lot of magic that actually happened considering the book mentions sister witches, familiars, magical items etc. The low powered magic system is not explained much.. This is definitely more mystery than a fantasy story. Unfortunately , although our protagonist is refreshingly a 44 year old woman, she’s written as a matronly character who’s not up to speed with pop culture or social media at all. Since she has two college-aged kids and younger siblings she lives with who express their knowledge of such subjects, it was unbelievable.

There are two more books in the Hex Support Mystery series featuring Katherine Fairfield’s younger sisters. Perhaps there’s more to the story to be found in the remainder of the series.

I didn’t love this one but it was pretty good for a new series, it held my interest enough that I would try a second book. I hope the author adjusts the main character a little- she’s middle age but acts like an old lady. I listened to the audio version and the narrator was good.

"Sabrina the Teenage Witch meets Castle in this indie title featuring a jaded witch tasked with solving a murder case and a vampire who knows far more than he should."

We follow Kit, a witch and Palmer, a vampire as they try to figure out who murdered Dottie, the towns socialite. Retiring after the death of her husband in order to raise her children, Kit is ask to return to her former job at the Federal Bureau of Magic to solve this case. Kit's children are currently in college, and she owes her old boss a favor so she accepts.
This is a cozy mystery, following an interesting group of characters. The mystery and the characters keep the story moving well. A fun, quick read that kept me engaged and wanting to know what happened to Dottie.

I didn’t love this book as much as I thought I would. However, I do plan to read the next one.

Katherine Fairfield caught my attention because she was described to be older, her kids are in college and now it’s time for her to do something new, However, she’s only 44 and I feel they way she’s written is closer to 74. She wears ugly tennis shoes, doesn’t like technology, and gets tired running. I didn’t really like the way she was described. She was also pretty boring.

The love interest insults her and it felt so childish. I never really felt any chemistry tween them. There were a few lines of banter that was okay but overall I wanted more.

I found myself not really caring too much about the main plot. It was a tad boring and I didn’t care about the mystery.

I did feel that it was paced well and the characters were interesting enough that I will give the series another chance. I liked the witches, the magic, and the world it’s set in.

I think most people will enjoy the overall cozy feel of this mystery. The audio is a very good version, I loved the narrator.

This was an enjoyable cozy paranormal mystery. This is the first in a series about the Fairfield sisters, who are a trio of witches. The protagonist of this, Kit, is a woman in her mid-forties who lost her husband while working as a member of the Hex Support branch of the Federal Bureau of Magic (a partnership with the FBI.) Having spent the last ten years raising her twins and her two younger sisters, while also maintaining an animal sanctuary for animal familiars, she is at a loss when her children go to college - so her former boss asks her to work a sensitive case in Savannah, Georgia. A fellow witch has been decapitated at her Mad Hatter party - while dressed as the Queen of Hearts (oh the irony.) Followed on her investigation by a well-dressed mysterious vampire only heightens Kit's suspicions on what happened and why. Low romance, decent banter, sufficient mystery, and quite a few laugh-out-loud moments I enjoyed throughout. My only complaint was it was too short - although I connected with the MC I did not have much connection with the secondary characters. I will continue with the series. 3.5/5

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this audiobook!

This was a really interesting premise that ultimately did not deliver for me. There were constant reminders of how great of an investigator the main character had been and how incredibly powerful she and her whole family were, but it seemed more like the character had the most incredible luck—stumbling onto answers and narrowly avoiding danger through none of her own ability.

I was also frustrated that the underlying family drama and romantic interest never went anywhere. We never got answers about the deceased husband even though she constantly referenced drama regarding his death.

Ultimately, this felt like a first book in a series about the same character because so much was left unsaid.

Pink Moon was a fun and cozy read. I was not as taken with the rich, brooding vampire as I was likely meant to be, but I enjoyed the story for its depiction of a mom re-entering the magical workforce and re-appreciating the skills she had to offer before motherhood taught her even more.

Thank you @netgalley for the advanced audiobook of Pink Moon. This was a short fun listen and perfect for this hectic time of year. It's a cozy witchy read and i really enjoyed the puns like "Hex Support."

Kit is an agent for Hex support and is called to investigate a murder. She needs to use her magic to catch the killer and comes across vampires and other witches along the way.
