This was a fast-paced, enjoyable thriller even with some of the OTT twists that most will find a bit unbelievable. David Burroughs is serving a life sentence for killing his 3-year-old son Matthew. 5 years into his sentence, his sister-in-law Rachel comes to visit him in prison and shows him a picture with a boy in the background who has a distinctive birthmark... exactly like Matthew. David knows it's his son and that his son is alive. With help from a few people, David escapes prison to find out the truth about his son.

Although the final reveal is definitely a bit of a stretch, I found the book highly entertaining and finished it quickly. I've read all of Harlan Coben's books and will always be a fan!

I Will Find You is by one of my favorite authors, Harlan Coben. It is the story of David Burroughs – imprisoned for the beating death of his three-year-old son, Matthew. David is in prison for the murder, but he knows he is innocent – even though he had been drinking heavily that night and in the past had had some night terrors and sleepwalking.
He is resigned to his sentence until his ex-sister-in-law, Rachel, comes to visit with a picture from one of her husband’s coworkers taken at an amusement park. He looks at the picture and finally sees it – a boy who looks remarkably like his dead son. Rachel tells him she has had someone do a progressive facial recognition, and it looks exactly like Matthew.
Prisoners and now guards are trying to kill David; but David’s plan, with the help of Rachel and others, is to get out and find out if Matthew is alive or not.
Who can David trust? Rachel? His ex-wife, Cheryl, and her husband? His own father?
Harlan Coben leads us on a wonderful wild goose chase with David looking for his son.

If you're looking for a thrill ride of a novel, Harlan Coben's "I Will Find You" is just what the doctor ordered! This book tells the story of David Burroughs, an innocent man serving a life sentence for the murder of his three-year-old son, Matthew. But when David's sister-in-law Rachel visits him in prison and shows him a photo that suggests Matthew might still be alive, David knows he has to escape and find out the truth.

Coben's writing style is engaging and fast-paced, and I found myself rooting for David and Rachel from the get-go. While some of the plot twists might require a bit of suspension of disbelief, that just adds to the fun and excitement of the story. And the ending, while perhaps a bit neat, is still satisfying and brings everything together nicely.

One minor complaint is the inclusion of two FBI agents, Max and Sarah, whose schtick can be a bit grating at times. But ultimately, they don't detract from the overall enjoyment of the book. All in all, "I Will Find You" is a fantastic read that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Highly recommended for fans of the thriller genre!

Big Harlan Coben fan, so i was VERY happy to have been accepted for this! The premise of the book was wonderful, characters were planned carefully and I felt myself connecting with them. A great read!

The story takes off in Coben style and the chase is on with David trying to find out who took his son , who was the murdered child in his son's crib and why was he framed for it??? The action Iis fast and furious and the competing storylines woven well together.
The only thing that keeps it from flying out of the park, for me, is the tedious back and forth of the FBI investigating duo.

David is spending life in prison for killing his son, Matthew. For five years he has no visitors, until one day, his sister-in-law comes to visit. What she shows him sends him into a quest to find out the truth about what happened to his son and hopefully prove his innocence. In true Harlan Coben fashion, this book is a page turner. You can feel hopelessness in prison, then passion and desperation for his son once he escapes.

"What really happened to Matthew?" I love the way the characters are written, how their personalities come through. The only thing I wasn't quite fond of was the dynamic between the federal agents, Max and Sarah. In the beginning of book when they are first introduced, I found them very annoying. But throughout the book they were less so and were more tolerable., I loved this book and would recommend to anyone who likes mystery or suspense.

BONUS! Hester makes a cameo! What an unexpected treat and an amazing character!

I’ll never forget my first Harlan Coben novel. I loved the pace , the twists and the development of the many characters. After a hiatus from Mr. Coben’s novels this felt like a book I could highly recommend for readers needing a very fast paced thriller.

I have to say that I love me a Harlan Coben novel. They are great suspense stories that sometimes border on the ridiculous. I mean, take I will Find You. The story is so compelling and the situation is one that I, as a reader, am totally invested in, but ultimately, it's a ridiculous story that has some moments that had me thinking, "Yeah, right. That's impossible and would never happen." (admittedly that's not that deep of a thought). Anyway, the story is awesome. The characters are great and Max and Sarah steal the show for me.

However, I have to say, the whole concept seems a bit on the "this is crazy" side of storytelling. The prison break, the police chases, the speed at which everything happened, it's just really unbelievable. Regardless, I was turning pages like crazy because I was invested, and thusly we have a Harlan Coben novel and it was dope. I highly recommend this novel for readers of Coben. You'll love it. There's even a glorious cameo from one of my favorite Coben characters, and that made me very happy. This book may seem unbelievable on many levels, but you'll read it, and you'll like it. :-)

This book is an insane roller coaster. Possibly too many elements but the twists were so good and I ate them up! I really couldn't put this down. I did dislike the cops dialogue quite a bit - felt like it was supposed to be on TV/a play or something, rather than read.

With a prison break, FBI chase, mistaken identity, influential people and more, this is some rollercoaster ride. I couldn’t put the book down and enjoyed it immensely.

I found this book to be very enjoyable and a super quick read. That being said... I did find big sections of the book to be completely unbelievable. You will root for the main character, and see how he changes as a result of looking for his son, but many a stretch was given in the plot.

Ok, Here’s the deal…you’ll seriously need to suspend a whole lot of believability here! And I do mean a lot! But if you can, you’ll be treated to one heck of a ride.

David is serving time in prison for murder. The victim…his son Matthew. David has maintained his innocence from day one, but don’t they all? Everyone has long since moved on with their lives. Now five years into his sentence, his now (ex) sister-in-law Rachel pays him a visit. She hands David a picture of a boy in an amusement park. A boy with a striking resemblance to his deceased son Matthew!

How can David prove to everyone that son is still alive? Surely this is proof positive! Who will listen? Equally important, who on the outside will help him?

Though this may not have been a favorite of mine from one of my go to authors, I still enjoyed the OTT ride! I mean come on, it’s Harlan Coben! How can you NOT pick up one of his books! Oh…and we get a cameo from one of his long-standing characters Hester Crimstein! Gotta love her!

This wasn’t a bad book by any means. If I had read it without knowing who wrote it I couldn’t guessed Harlan Coben. The dialogue felt very him. The actual story felt rushed and like there were missing details. I didn’t like the sprinkling of other characters from other series. If you like Harlan Coben you will like this book.

3.75 stars. This is a typical Coben book with some craziness going on but not as crazy as some of his have been. I enjoyed Part 1 & Part 3. Part 2 dragged a little for me. I didn’t love the interrogation style of Max & Sarah however when it was explained later on I understood it more. Overall another quick solid read by Coben. Not one of my favorites of his but I enjoyed the read.

I live for new releases by Harlan Coben, and then I rip through them so fast it feels like it took five minutes. This was no different. I could not wait to see what was next.

Harlan Coben’s novels almost always involve the revelation of deep secrets, an aspect of injustice, and at least one person dedicated to rooting out the truth at all costs (and usually in the face of great odds). All of these elements are present in “I Will Find You” and I think it is one of Coben’s best works. The story of David Burroughs, convicted for the murder of his 3 year old son—erroneously, he assures the reader at the very start of the book—is compelling, even though the reader knows that good people do sometimes commit terrible crimes. The twists and turns, as David and his former sister-in-law, Rachel, strive to figure out the truth behind this event, lead to some unusual events. Even readers who figure out part of the mystery are unlikely to solve all of the parts. Longtime Coben fans will enjoy the signature aspects of his books: references to familiar characters and settings, solid writing, and lively banter. Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.

This is Harlan Coben's take on the "my child is dead but here's a recent picture of him alive" concept. Though this idea has been done many times by others, Coben puts his spin on it with his usual surprise twist at the end. A suspenseful story but Coben has done better.

A good story to use for studying characterization and conflict.

David has been in prison for five years, serving time for the murder of his young son Matthew. When David receives his first ever visitor, he’s shocked to find that Matthew may be alive after all. A surprising photograph sets into motion plans for a daring escape.

Harlan Coben does it again with this fast paced suspense novel. I was pulled in before the end of the first chapter and ended up reading most of the book in one sitting. I could not put it down.

While David may not have been a complete saint, I could not help but root for him to succeed. The ending is both unpredictable and delightful. The only thing I found off putting was the weird back and forth attempts at humor in the agents’ dialogue. Not much is given as far as the agents’ partnership so it is difficult to tell what they were going for.

Overall, I Will Find You is a thrilling read with just enough twists to keep readers guessing until the very end. I can absolutely see this book being made into a movie or miniseries.

Harlan Coben will continue to be one of my favorite suspense writers and I look forward to seeing what he has for readers next.
