I am so happy to write this review for I WILL FIND YOU, which publishes tomorrow! I love Harlan Coben novels and this one just jumped to the top of my favorites list!⁣

I WILL FIND YOU centers around main character David Burroughs who is currently serving a prison sentence after being wrongly accused of the murder of his three-year-old son. When his sister-in-law visits him out of the blue with a photograph showing a little boy in the background, David has a gut feeling that his son is still alive. He decides in that moment that he will do whatever it takes to find out for sure.⁣

This book was so well written that you could truly feel the horror of what happened. I found myself rooting hard for David because I wanted to hope for a different outcome for his son. As with all Coben novels, there’s a cast of secondary characters who grab your attention from the get-go. I loved the signature Coben banter between the FBI agents and the nefarious intentions of the “bad” characters.⁣

If you are in the mood for a fast-paced, thrilling read that will keep your attention, add this to your TBR now!⁣

This is certainly not unfamiliar territory for Coben--the man who fights against wild odds for his family. However, just because he's the mayor of that wheelhouse doesn't mean that I won't stop and...stay a while. I don't know--this comparison is getting away from me.

Anyway, this is, as always, a gripping journey through our Everyman's attempt to fight those odds. As others have mentioned, you will have to suspend a lot of disbelief for parts of it. But that's okay. It's still very entertaining.

I Will Find You will keep you on the edge of your seat til the very end. The story starts out right away with David Burroughs in prison for the murder of his son. He is innocent of course, like all the others too. When his sister in-law Rachel brings him a picture of boy who looks like his son but 5 years older everything is no longer what it seems. David manages to escape the prison in order to search for his son. He is of course being chased by the police and FBI. There are a few scenes with the FBI duo that love to spice things up with a comedy schtick that I found annoying. Luckily for me they are not in the book that often. This book is a stand alone novel but it has a few cameos of characters from previous books. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
Thanks to #NetGalley, and #Grand Central Publishing for the ARC of this book for my review.

I Will Find You is an action/thriller about a man who escapes prison after being wrongly convicted of killing his 3 year old son and the FBI agents who are in charge of recapturing him.

This was a pretty fast paced story that was really plot driven. You do have to suspend reality a bit to get through some of the plot but I was okay with that because the motivations of the characters become clear. There are strong themes in this book about the complexity within human beings and how humans can be very self-serving and even selfish. With this in mind, a lot of the shakier plot devices are explained with imperfect humans being the driver of the circumstances throughout.

Overall, I really loved this book. You don't need to overthink it. Just be along for the ride! Thank you to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for the ARC. This fun read will be released on March 14, 2023!

Harlan Coben’s new thriller features a man convicted of the murder of his three-year-old son. He’s always contended he was innocent, and after five long years in prison, is suddenly confronted with evidence that could lead to his exoneration. Thus begins a chase that involves an escape from prison, confrontations with witnesses who may or may not have told the truth at his trial, and the discovery of surprising motives and behind-the-scenes manipulations by police, by criminals, and by others who reach their goals with no accountability. Quite a ride!

What would you do if everyone thought you’d killed your child, but you believed he was stolen and very much alive?

This is the premise of Harlan Coben’s newest release, I Will Find You.

As always, Coben gives us a complex plot with bumps and twists that leave us questioning everything. This one stretches plausibility more than most, requiring readers to go with the flow rather than examine details.

A wild ride with intensity, action, emotional turmoil, and an occasional dose of humor to lighten to load.

As always, Coben did not disappoint! I have read every one of his books, and this one had me holding my breath from the start! The suspense that he incorporates into each scene is amazing, and it seems as if there is no way that the characters will find their way out of the difficult situations that they face. It was one of those books that you read nonstop, but wish that it would never end!

"Wildly Entertaining! An electrifying game of cat-and-mouse —a father wrongly charged—in prison, desperate to discover what happened to his son in this breakneck action thriller."

Master of suspense, Harlan Coben returns with an action-packed high, adrenaline crime thriller; I WILL FIND YOU —a father wrongly accused of murdering his young son, and years later, while in prison, he learns his son is alive.

David Burroughs has been in prison in Maine for five years, convicted of murdering his three-year-old son Matthew with a baseball bat.

He has no memory of the events of that night. A neighbor testified she saw him buying the murder weapon near his home in Massachusetts.

He has received no visitors in five years nor wanted any. His wife, Cheryl, has left him and remarried.

His sister-in-law Rachel Anderson (former investigative journalist) shows up at the prison with a photo taken by someone at Six Flags amusement park that shows an eight-year-old boy Matthew holding someone's hand.

How could it be? Is his son alive? Then who was the boy with his son's PJs on the night of the murder? Who has set him up, and what is the motive? So many questions.

David is determined to break out of prison to find his son. The warden in the federal prison is a friend of his father's. He must call in a favor.

With two FBI agents on his trail and some sinister evil monsters, he must save his son and get back the life he lost.

Multi-layered, I WILL FIND YOU is one live wire-tension-filled suspense thriller with menace, obsession, power, secrets, lies, and MURDER—with Coben's signature twists and humor. Best of all, a cameo appearance from a favorite character.

True-crime fans will devour. Coben fans will delight in this high-octane, energetic, emotional, edge-of-your-seat action-packed suspense. Even though you may require a suspension of disbelief, do not overthink it, and enjoy the ride! Netflix, please!

Thank you to Grand Central Publishing for providing an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

David Burroughs goes to sleep, with his three-year-old son Matthew just down the hall, and his wife at work at the hospital. He startles awake in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. He doesn't hear anything, but feeling uneasy, he decides to go check on Matthew, and finding his bloody body is the last he remembers. Fast-forward to half a decade later, David’s been wrongly accused and convicted of the murder, left to serve out his time in a maximum-security prison—a fate which, grieving and wracked with guilt, David didn’t have the will to fight. The world has moved on without him. Then Cheryl’s younger sister, Rachel, makes a surprise appearance during visiting hours bearing a strange photograph. It’s a vacation shot of a bustling amusement park a friend shared with her, and in the background, just barely in frame, is a boy bearing an eerie resemblance to David’s son. Even though it can’t be, David just knows: Matthew is still alive. David plans a harrowing escape, determined to achieve the impossible – save his son, clear his own name, and discover the real story of what happened. But with his life on the line and the FBI following his every move, can David evade capture long enough to reveal the shocking truth?
I am a huge fan of this author and read every one of his books, and I have to say, this may be one of my favorites. David was someone you really wanted to root for, and I loved how the author kept you guessing - every time you got a piece of the puzzle, a new mystery cropped up that needed to be solved. I also really enjoyed the character of David's former sister-in-in-law, Rachel. She had a lot of moxie, and added a lot to the story. I highly recommend this one to anyone who loves a good thriller!

Over the past four or five years, I have read and reviewed several Harlan Coben books, and with the exception of Win, all were four or five stars – although it may have been that the pandemic screwed up my ability to enjoy my usually reliable authors’ releases. Hmmm. In any case, I was happy to receive a copy of I Will Find You from Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for this honest review.

No spoilers, but the blurb spells out right up front that David Burroughs, a convicted murderer, successfully plans his escape from prison. And let’s just get it out of the way right up front: to really enjoy this book, you REALLY need to be willing to suspend disbelief about a number of things, especially related to the whole prison part of the story. Despite his orders against allowing any visitors, David sees his ex-wife’s sister when she visits him, bringing a photograph that seems to show David’s son, the supposed victim Matthew, at a amusement park, very much alive, although David has been locked up for brutally killing him. WTF? David was allegedly in some sort of fugue state or sleepwalking or whatever when he got out of bed and beat Matthew beyond recognition. No DNA testing was done on the bodym, because – it’s a 3-year old boy, in the bed where David’s three year old son sleeps. After the trial, David’s wife Cheryl remarried and has moved on with her life. David becomes convinced that Matthew is somehow still alive, and he just HAS to get out of his cell and find the truth.

David plans his escape, determined to save Matthew, clear his own record, and find out what really happened. And….we’re OFF! It moves fast, is a fun read, and if you can handle the improbabilities and just go along for the ride, it is worth at LEAST four stars. ****

David has spent the last 5 years of his life in prison for a murder he didn’t commit - that of his son. David’s wife has moved on and he hasn’t had a visitor the entirety of his prison stay until his ex-sister-in-law comes for a visit and with an unlikely story. As pieces of the past start falling into place the pursuit begins. The twists in this one are fun and I love the genre. This is my first Harlan Coben novel but it won’t be my last. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the early copy. This is a sure fire hit!

Over the years, I've read a number of Harlan Coben's stand alone books and every time, I've loved his writing but was stalled by his fantastical plots. I Will Find You is also a fantastical plot. This time, each decision David Burroughs makes is properly backfilled so that we understand why he is making crazy moves at each step of this novel. David, the son of a retired cop, is in jail for murdering his three year old son. It has been five years. He believes he is innocent. Others suggest he did this in some kind of fugue state. He has refused all visitors so those who care have stopped trying to see him. And then, Cheryl, his ex-sister in law arrives. He is pressured into seeing her to save a guard hassles. He does. And she has a picture of a couple she knows with a boy in the background that looks just like his son. It is Matthew port wine stain on his face.

The publicity for I Will Find You tells readers that David plans an escape from jail and begins a search for the boy in the picture, narrowly escaping capture from local police and the FBI for quite awhile. Coben makes this whole book work. It is entertaining, a fun plot with all the clues and support for every character's behavior solidly in place. I read it straight through and enjoyed it thoroughly. Definitely recommend.

I’m a big fan of Harlan Coben and have read all of his books and watched all he Netflix shows. However, this book really just dragged on and on and on. I did finish it but Harlan you need to get back to your Myron Bolitar and Windsor Lockwood books.

It is hard to resist the opening of this book: I am in prison for murdering my son. Such an awful thing, and this is our hero? In classic Harlen Coben fashion, it is a compelling story with complex characters who have to scale walls to get where they need to be.
This is no different, but I found myself getting impatient - I wanted to see where this went more than I wanted to learn who was who and how things got there. When I did finally get the whole story,it was satisfying, although the real story of the murder was horrifying,
Good writing, the usual from this author.

I've always been a huge fan of Harlan Cohen and I seem to fly through all of his books. I Will Find You is one of my favorite Harlan Cohen books. I read it in 1 day and am still thinking about it. Wow! Imagine you're an innocent man in prison because you were found guilty of killing your 3 year old son. That's the predicament that David Burroughs finds himself in. He's been locked up for 5 years and he feels like he deserves to be in prison for life because he wasn't able to protect his beautiful son. David was drunk the night of Matthew's murder and everyone says he blacked out and beat his son to death with a baseball bat. The baseball bat was found buried behind his house in a wooded area. David's wife, Cheryl, wasn't home when the murder occurred. She's a transplant surgeon and was at a conference out of town.

David and Cheryl's marriage had been rocky even before this tragedy. David and Cheryl had originally wanted to have 4 kids, but once they started trying they weren't having any success. David found out he had a low sperm count and eventually had surgery which solved the problem. In the years before David's surgery, Cheryl had grown impatient and gone to a fertility clinic. She thought she could get pregnant from a sperm donor and convince David that it was his child. Cheryl's sister, Rachel, helped her by using her name at the clinic instead of Cheryl's. When Cheryl got pregnant after David's surgery she wasn't sure if it was his or the sperm donor. Cheryl thought the boy was definitely David's once he was born.

After David's trial where he's found guilty, he and Cheryl get divorced. David wants to be punished for letting someone kill Matthew. David's Aunt Sophie lives with his father and is his father's caregiver. David's father is not well and she takes care of him. Aunt Sophie helped raise David as his mother died when he was a young boy. Aunt Sophie never gave up on David and always knew he was innocent. David's father was a retired policeman and thought he was innocent until evidence at trial seemed irrefutable. David's neighbor, an older woman, testified that she had seen David burying the baseball bat in the wooded area behind his house. She seemed sure of what she had seen and that lead to the guilty conviction.

David had no visitors since he'd been in prison. He refused to see anyone and had signed a document stating that he refused to see any visitors. That's why David is shocked when one of the guards comes to his cell and says he has a visitor. David says that's impossible as he has signed that form. The guard informed him that he had to do that every year and he had only done it his first year in prison. David asks who the visitor is, but the guard doesn't know. After cuffing David, he leads him to the visitation area where he sits in a chair and talks to the visitor with a phone as they're separated by plexiglass. He's surprised when he sees Rachel come into the room and pick up the phone. David and Rachel were always close since he had dated her sister since high school. The timing of the visit seems weird though. Why would she come after 5 years?

As Rachel picks up the phone, she is shocked at how David looks. He's lost a lot of weight and looks like he's been in a lot of fights. His face looks different and he has a lot less hair. They start chatting and eventually Rachel gets to why she's come. Rachel explains that a friend of hers went to an amusement park with her family and was showing her some of the photos. Rachel took a picture of one particular photo with her cellphone. She has printed it out to show David. Rachel holds the photo up to the plexiglass so that David can see it. He looks at her friend and her family, but he doesn't see anything interesting. Rachel says look again and look closely. All of a sudden, David's eyes get wide and his body goes stiff. Behind her friend's family, there is a boy that is approximately 8 years old and is the spitting image of Matthew, David's son that was killed 5 years ago. Matthew had a red birthmark on his cheek that was quite large and this boy has the same birthmark. Rachel thinks the boy is Matthew also and that's why she had to visit David. Rachel hasn't told her sister Cheryl as Cheryl is remarried to Ronald and is expecting their first child.

David has many questions and feels like his life has just been renewed, but there's one problem, he's in prison for life! David must find a way to get out of prison now more than ever. Rachel takes notes and says she will do some investigating before she returns the next day. David wants to know why the old woman neighbor would've lied. It's imperative that they track her down and speak to her. Rachel has many contacts from her days as an investigative reporter, including a good one with the FBI. She plans on finding out as much as she can before she comes back. Meanwhile, someone behind the scenes is paying a guard to give them information on anything related to David.

You literally can't put this book down as the more you read, the more you have to know! Will David be able to break out of prison to find his son? Will Rachel's contacts come through with information? How will they track down Matthew when all they know is he was at an amusement park? Is the boy really Matthew? Was David set up? Who would want to hurt David like this? If the 3 year old boy that was killed wasn't Matthew, who was it? Who killed the boy? Why would an old woman lie on the stand and send an innocent man to prison? Why did that old woman move right after the trial ended and change her name? I Will Find You is one of the best books I've read this year and you need to read it as soon as it comes out on March 14! I rate the book 5 stars and give it my absolute top recommendation.

I'd like to thank NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for an advanced copy of I Will Find You in exchange for a fair review. #IWillFindYou

My pulse is still racing from the read and "I Will Find You" is now my favorite Harlan Coben novel! I couldn't put it down and spent the day curled up on the couch reading until finishing the final chapter. The layers that Coben reveal in David's story leave readers on the edge of their seats and along for the ride on his mission to find Matthew.

Serving time for killing his son, David refuses visitors until his sister-in-law, Rachel, shows up with a photo. The boy's birthmark suggests that Matthew didn't die that night but was kidnapped and David is falsely imprisoned.

Escaping from prison, David races against time to find out the truth. Will the boy in the photo Matthew and if so what really happened that night? Thank you to #NetGalley and the publisher for the early edition of #IWillFindYou in exchange for an honest review. I'm a fan of Coben's books but his latest story is special. From suspense to comic antics between Max and Sarah, readers will find themselves trying to unravel the chain of events.

Harlan Coben can do no wrong in my eyes so do with that what you will.

This book starts out a bit slow but soon picks up to the point where I had to put the book down and take a beak - my heart was beating SO FAST!

Very wild ride with lots of little twists and a ton of “wait……what?!” moments.

Sarah and Max were great.

This kind of felt like it was written with the purpose of being made into a tv show or movie and I hope it does.

Thank you NetGalley for this eARC!

Another exhilarating book by Harlan Coben. David Burroughs is in prison for murdering his young son. However, everything changes when his sister-in-law visits and shows David a recent photo of a child who looks incredibly similar to his son. Motivated to find his son and get out of prison David starts planning a harrowing escape to find the truth about what happened to his son. Did I like this book- YES! Did I have to temporarily suspend reality- ALSO YES! I really loved the characters in this story but some of it was incredibly unbelievable. However, if you can gloss over those details this is a fast paced thriller.

Thank you NetGalley a million times for my ARC of I Will Find You! Harlan Coben is one of my favorite of all time writers and once again, he hit it out of the ballpark. There were twists and turns throughout the book in the usual Harlan Coben way. David was a strong main character while Rachel was his trusty side kick. All the other characters were loaded with personality. This is a book you will not want to put down and the ending will satisfy you! I highly recommend reading it and if you’ve never read a Harlan Coben book, I suggest reading them all.

Thank You to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the free ebook ARC.

This is a fast paced, easy to read, can't be put down read. The story is interesting, but some of it is so hard to believe because it is so over the top. Not a lot of suspense and thrills. The story is predictable and not that exciting. It is worth a read, but I think Harlan Coben has better books than this one.
