I always love to read these kind of essay books. It's nice and comforting to know that we're not alone in the world, and other have similar experiences.

I requested this book after realizing "hey, I see dear dolly everywhere, I should probably check it out." I could've done without.

The writing was overly generic, and unnecessarily wordy at times. It was as if she was trying to hard. I expected a clear voice that was enjoyable, afterall, she's a columnist, but all I got was an attempt at a pseudo-philosophical approach to nonsensical events in her life.

I am sure that there are readers who will LOVE this, and this book will have tons of checkouts at libraries, but it was just not for me.

Dolly Alderton has become something of a millennial sage, and I'm so here for it. There are so many gems of wisdom in this collection of advice columns, and I praticularly love that Alderton is a very relatable person from which to accept advice. Single, in her early-mid thirties, not immune to a drunken night out, but smart and confident and successful -- she's a true mixed bag of experiences and hang-ups like most women deal with and I find it very comforting (and mercifully not preachy) to take advice from someone who hasn't got it all figured out yet, either. I loved reading this, and will return to favorite passages again and again.

This book gave me solace. And all the warm, fuzzy feelings. Coming back to Alderton writing is as similar as to going down the memory lane. There’s something really nostalgic about the language and the prose that she inculcate in her writing, making them next to unforgettable!!

Dolly Alderton is a delight and hands down my favorite agony aunt! This compilation of letters sent in to Dear Dolly has all of her characteristic wit, warmth, and wry references that are sure to please. My one quibble is that it's not a book you can read in one sitting -- simply because there is so much to think about. A delight and one I'm sure to recommend!
