Thank you NetGalley for the eARC. I liked this book. I read the first one and this one was just as good. Throwing a cop into the mix seemed a little dangerous to the storyline but it worked.

This was something I needed to read and didn't know!!!

It's short, really, but It's sooo easy to read (and spicy) that you can read it in less than two hours! I haven't been reading anything for the past few months and 'Severu' helped me get back to reading, even if it was for a little while.

Likeable characters and a simple plot with a badass female main character (Lira, she's a cop!) and a posessive/protective (and passional 🙏🏻) male main character (Severu i love you)

Loved it 🔥

Lira Blake works for the police and she has had and continues to work at everything she has at the force, yet at times she is still not taken seriously. She ends up in the Cammarei home and everyone thinks she is someone else. She sees the people inside differently than what she has heard and before she can tell Severu who she has grown to like that she works for the police she is outed by others. Though he finds out it does not seem to bother him for he has grown to trust her and he has fallen for her as well, what will they do? A good book with good characters.

I liked this book a lot! I enjoyed the characters and the love story between Severu and Lira. From the beginning, we see how Lira is a police officer and although she has fought for her place there, she does not get taken seriously because she is a woman. On a mission to bring the Cammareri family down, she falls in love with one of the criminals, Severu. They are quick to fall in love and Lira knows that she needs to tell Severu that she is a cop before it's too late, but someone else does that for her. This was a great story, the only thing I would change is that I would've made it longer. It was extremely short and a quick read, but I feel some scenes could have been extended. Overall, liked it! 4/5 stars ◡̈

3.75stars—SEVERU is the second instalment and novella in Jade Marshall’s contemporary adult CAMMARERI FAMILY erotic, Mafia romance series. This is Severu Cammareri, and police officer Lira Blake’s story line. SEVERU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalment is revealed where necessary.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Severu and Lira) SEVERU advances the series approximately two years, and follows in the wake of an attack against our story line heroine. Lira Blake is a police officer working under cover at the Cammareri Family owned nightclub and brothel but Lira never expected to find herself the victim of an assault, an assault in which Severu will kill the man responsible for the attack. Living and working at the Cammareri compound as Guilia and Alceu’s nanny, Lira finds herself falling for the man who could take her life, a life she will forfeit when the truth is revealed. What ensues is the quick building relationship between Lira and Severu, and the potential fall-out when Severu discovers the truth, and Lira is pushed out of his life.

The relationship between Severu and Lira begins as forced proximity in the aftermath of an attack against our story line heroine. Lira is working undercover but has yet to find anything of importance or worth reporting to her precinct superiors. In an effort to protect Lira, Severu more or less holds Lira prisoner, until he discovers that Lira is not who she presents herself to be. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters include Alceu and Guilia (Alceu), Mancuso and Stefano, as well as Guilia’s sister Andrea.

SEVERU is another quick read; a fast paced novella focusing on family and relationships, secrets and lies, betrayals and loss. The premise is engaging and entertaining; the romance is hot and heavy; the characters are energetic but lost.

The plot has the potential to be good however it feels rushed or like the author left a lot of details out. The dynamic between Lira and Severu isn’t believable, either. Additionally, the over usage of commas was distracting. Over all a lot was left to be desired.

this book is a fast-paced, interesting, steamy novella! This book has a huge emphasis on family, betrayal, secrets, and relationships! This book was super super engaging! While I did enjoy the book I have to admit I’m definitely not the biggest fan of the insta love trope. Additionally, I also felt like some parts of this book were so rushed and fast that it felt hard to keep up at certain parts. Overall, this book is definitely a great, engaging, read and I’d definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick read! Thank you to Evernight Publishing and Netgalley for sending me this arc! All opinions are my own.

Fast and steamy read - great for weekend or anytime. Undercover cop and tough mafia family come together in more ways than one. Just who is the bad guy and how will things play out. No spoilers, but there might be a happy ending in there too.
