COMMENTS/NOTES: It's slow in parts with Hayley and Jace's inner monologues. Hate to say it, but I wished Levi did more to Hayley and Jace to keep the action going. I wanted to know more about Amelia and why she didn't go to college. I hope Amelia, Piper, and Owen get their stories told.

This book gets straight into the love story and trauma! Instantly connected to the characters and really enjoyed the development. The book explored way more than a love story - it’s about grief, friendship and growth. Really enjoyable. Recommend. Thank you to NetGallery for the ARC. This is my honest review.

Safe to say this one is a really cozy, sad and sweet one time read which I had a good time with. I especially loved how grief was portrayed by the author as something having lingering effects. The beginning and the end made me cry, along with every page where Hayley recalled moments with Tom. That was so beautifully written and tragically perfect.

Other than that, the romance fell a bit short for me. I couldn’t feel the spark between Jace and Hayley for some reason. They were lukewarm to me. That might be just me though as other readers might love them for the soft romance with steamy moments. The thriller was predictable but still kept me hooked enough to read till the end as it drove the plot.

Overall, a really good debut.

Firstly, I want to thank Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book sounded so good on the surface....and started off really well. Then unfortunately it took a nosedive and floundered in the deep end for quite a bit. I struggled to read this as parts of it were really hard to understand.

This is not a book I'd read again, unfortunately

AHHH ok, so I've seen this book all over my Instagram and so when I got approved I freaked out! So this story follows Hayley and Jace who are best friends, I absolutely love good best friends to lovers and this did it for me! I loved seeing Hayley grow as a character through the book and the chemistry between these two was so cute! This book showed the true ups and downs a relationship has and I feel most books don't do that, they only show the ups so this was a change and I'm here for it. The twists in this book were perfect, it kept me wanting more the whole book, and Hayley's best friend I loved, I loved how she was always there for Hayley. Overall this book was so good and I cant wait for its release! thank you Sarah and NetGalley for this amazing arc!!

Well, I'm not really sure what I was expecting but I devoured this book in less than a day. For some reason, I just found myself needing to pick it back up. I would explain it as a very enjoyable and pleasurable trainwreck drama that gets you hooked from the beginning. The character growth is great, the mystery was a little ehh and I kind of guessed. Overall, if you're into a brother's best friend, slow burn with some sadness and mystery thrown in there give this a go because it's great read!!

“I’m not saying it won’t be hard, us being together. I’ll probably piss you off sometimes, struggle to talk about the shit that matters, but you’re it for me. You’re my person.”

-brother’s best friend/best friend’s brother, friends to lovers, college setting
-there was just so much back and forth that it got somewhat frustrating
-deals with death and grief
-although the story dealt mostly about the Levi issue, I felt there could’ve been more between moments between Jace and Hayley
-the ending was sweet and I’m glad they got their happy ending
-thank you NetGalley and Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group for this read ❤️

When tragedy strikes in Hayley Donovan's small town, she cannot wait to escape it. Years later, Hayley is in college still coping with personal loss, but trying to move on. Her best friend's older brother attends the same college and fortuitously, they are in class together. Coping together, the two finally act on feelings they have harbored for years. When an outside threat tries to tear them apart, the two find a way to be whole together again.

A thriller romance story with a sweet, happy ending.

ARC Review from NetGalley

This was such a fun and emotional read. Definitely recommend if you want a romance/suspenseful read.

A group of four friends are hit with a traumatic event, and now they’re trying to navigate it 2 years later.

Hayley, the main FC, ends up going to the same college where her childhood crush is and she wonders if they’ll ever fall in love or become anything.

But Jace can be so guarded towards her and she wonders why, but he also wants to protect Hayley. Their relationship is strained at times but looks like it’s going towards something good.

Then someone starts stalking/following Hayley on campus and she starts to live in fear of her life. Always looking over her shoulder. Will Jace and her ever end up together or will all the trauma they’ve endured be too much to be together and be honest with each other?

Love these tropes included in the book:
Slow burn, childhood crush, brothers best friend

***ARC REVIEW***
Thank you to NetGallery, the publisher and author for allowing me to have an ARC copy!

Ahh, I don't know where to begin. I felt like I went on a roller coaster of emotions. This story was amazing! Hayley's character growth was *chef's kiss* The love that Jace and Hayley had for each other from beginning to end was captivating! Jace is definitely another one of my book boyfriends. This book showed the true ups and downs that a relationship can have. Also, it showed that no matter what happens, when you truly love someone you will fight for them, protect them and love them whole heartedly.

Also, I wasn't expecting the twists that happened in the book. I really loved the plot! I've never read a book with this kind of plot. I couldn't put this book down to say the least. Another side note is I loved Amelia's character, who is Hayley's best friend. She was so supportive towards everything. She was definitely the bestest of best friends!

"Maybe One Day" has become one of my favorites! Once this book is officially released, I will definitely be getting my hands on a physical copy!

This was so amazing, I was hooked on Jace and Hayley's story from chapter one. I love childhood friends to lovers but to make this even better there was a mystery mixed in. This story had so many layers and the MC's weren't your typical cliché one layer romance leads; both leads had so much depth to their personalities and their relationship. It was so interesting seeing how they reacted to different situations and having deeper and dark moments but also really adorable bits too. I was rooting from them from the beginning and wouldn't mind a spin-off about Amelia and also "Reese" and Eden.
Overall this was just a really fun read I loved it.

4 friends Hayley & Tom brother and sister.
Jace & Millie also brother & sister, each are the best of friends.
1 set fall in love. 1 of the boys dies in a tragic accident just before his high school graduation.
Just over 2 years later Hayley begins college.
We meet Pippa, Owen and Eden.

It’s full of suspense, mystery and truly romantic thoughts, dreams and loss.
So sizzling hot and romantic.
I got the chills reading it and thinking that someone was unbelievably too romantic, I guess it’s because it’s what we all wish for, this kind of love.

Thank you to Net Galley, the publisher and Author for allowing me to read this incredible book in exchange for a review. I absolutely loved every minute of it.

This was all my favorite tropes in one romance novel. I loved both the female and male lead characters. I was really rooting for them both to end up together. I loved when they finally got together. The twists and turns until they finally got together was so engaging. I read this book in one sitting only. I loved the book and want to read more from this author.

WOW. Talk about nostalgia! I read this so long ago on Wattpad and rereading the published version just brought back all the memories!

I really love the brother's best friend trope! and even though I read books that aren't realistic (and don't mind one bit) I did like how this book showed real life ups and downs in relationships. What I reeeeeallly don't like is miscommunication.

Jace was a sweetie throughout the book, but the back and forth can get old real fast. I did LOVE Hayley and Amelia's friendship the most!

The twist was good, but slightly predictable, even when I read it the first time!

4 Stars! I loved the story. It's just like life, some complications, some smooth sailing. Not much character development, but that was okay because I liked them from the beginning.

I enjoyed this story as it was one of the firsts I finished so far this year. However, it didn’t leave a strong impact like other stories do on me. I enjoy a good best friends brother type trope which this did have. Also, the friendship between Amelia and Hayley was really realistic. I also think the author Sarah Douglas handles the topic of grief well. However, I’m not a fan of miscommunication or a lot of back and forth with romances even if it makes sense to do based on the story as a whole. I also will say I liked how Jace was protective of Hayley from the beginning of the story.

This book caught my interest from the first chapter, the story sucks you in right away! I really enjoyed how the author portrayed the relationship as having ups and downs, as that is how normal relationships are, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows and that made it very relatable.

I also really enjoyed that there was no plot around trying to have a secret relationship, I know that is a popular trope but it personally really bugs me so I loved how open and honest all of the characters were with each other!

The plot was super enjoyable and kept me entertained the entire way through!

Maybe One Day was a sweet story of loss and love. Hayley has loved Jace since she was little. They've grown up together as best friends and have experienced some very serious losses and tragedies in their lives. Hayley has never doubted her love for Jace but he has always questioned if the risk is worth the reward of a potential romantic relationship. There were parts of the book I enjoyed - Jace and Hayley, Hayley and her parents, some of the supporting characters, but there was also parts that I didn't. Jace was so wishy-washy - he couldn't make up his mind and after a while it just got annoying (I can't imagine how Hayley must have felt - ha!). Pick a lane, Jace! Without revealing any major plot points, I found some parts pretty unbelievable and a little too far-fetched. Also - Owen's sister.... what happened? There was a lot of vague references and intimations of her trauma, but we never really found out what happened and how Owen was/was not involved. So much so that I wondered if there was another book I had missed somewhere that held all the answers. Overall, a sweet story, but definitely not the typical friends to lovers romance.
