Gripping police procedural with great characters and a devious plot. I will definitely be reading more of this author’s books. Couldn’t put it down and was up very late finishing it.

Thank you NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for this advance copy of Find Her Alive.

I absolutely loved this book and it was a quick read for me from the beginning to the end. I had trouble putting it down will absolutely be adding D.S. Butler to my list of must read authors.

This is the seventh book in the consistently good Karen Hart series. As usual, it is well written, with clever plotting and likeable characters. The team work well together investigating the cases of drink spiking of young girls in the bars of Lincoln. It's a fast paced read with plenty tension and twists, although part of a series, it can easily be read as a stand alone. Fans of crime will surely enjoy the read. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

This is the seventh book in the D.S. Karen Hart series and I have read them all. Some of the earlier books should be read in order, but this one works fine as a standalone. Karen starts out looking into a young woman's disappearance as a favor for a friend, but then discovers there is way more to the story than what it first appears.

As the investigation becomes more and more dangerous, Karen questions if the job she enjoys is worth the price of putting loved ones at risk. I like Karen and her immediate team and the way they support each other both on and off the job. However, there are others in the station that are so antagonistic, it's sometimes hard to read. Karen is able to ignore the detractors and make progress on a case with many interesting twists, some unexpected and some I predicted. This is an entertaining installment of an excellent series I really enjoy.

I received an advance copy of this ebook at no cost from NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer, but my review is voluntary and unbiased.

Really enjoyed this story by D.S. Butler. DS Karen Hart is investigating a missing woman and women being drugged in a bar.
Part of a series and it would help to have read the previous books but this could also be read as a standalone novel.
Great characters

I enjoyed reading this police procedural. It is the seventh book in the series, something that I didn't know when I began reading the book, but I didn't feel at a loss. Karen Hart is the main character, a detective in Lincoln, England. I looked Lincoln up - it is a very old small city, and home to the famous Lincoln Cathedral. Construction on the cathedral began in 1072, which was eye-popping to this American.

One of Karen's coworkers, Rick, is struggling as he is juggling work and trying to take care of his elderly mother. Karen herself is in a counseling group, as she has lost her husband and daughter. Someone in her counseling group tells Karen about one of her friends, Phoebe, who went to a local bar to celebrate and went missing.

When Karen begins to look into her disappearance, she discovers that other young women have been assaulted after their drinks were spiked in various clubs in the city. Could Phoebe have been kidnapped after her drink was spiked? It took a long time to get it, but video from the bar showed her staggering in the parking lot.

Phoebe is also one of two partners in a company that had created a breakthrough medical device. She and her partner had been negotiating the sale that will make them both very rich before she disappeared, and the deal can't go through without her. Is her disappearance related to concerns about the sale? The owner of the company that wants their invention has a bad reputation.

I received an e-arc of this book from Amazon Publishing UK via NetGalley, and voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

I’d like to thank Amazon Publishing UK and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Find Her Alive’, book seven in the Detective Karen Hart series written by D S Butler, in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

DS Karen Hart is part of a team investigating the drugging and assaulting of women in the bars of Lincoln. When she’s tipped off that a woman appears to have been drugged in Imporium, Karen is concerned when the woman is identified as Phoebe Woodrow who hasn’t been seen since that night.

I’ve been a fan of the series since book one and can truthfully say that ‘Find Her Alive’ is the best yet. It has a complex plot that’s full of suspense, intrigue and twists and turns as Karen attempts to locate the missing woman while supporting a colleague whose mother is suffering from dementia, and worrying that she’s bringing danger to her family and partner Mike thanks to the criminals she’s arrested. The story has had me so gripped that I haven’t been able to stop reading and finished it in twenty-four hours. It’s been a thoroughly enjoyable and exciting thriller with a surprising conclusion that I hadn’t been expecting. I can definitely recommend it and hope there’s more to come in the future.

Karen Hart is asked by a woman in the counselling group to see if she can find her friend Phoebe who appears to have gone missing. She's busy looking into a case where women are having their drinks spiked and then being assaulted. Is this what's happened to Phoebe? Are the two things connected in any way?
This is yet another great read from D S Butler. It kept me gripped and wanting to rush through the book to find out how it all ends. It gets a full 5 stars from me and I highly recommend it.
Many thanks for my copy from NetGalley

This is the 7th installment of the Detective Karen Hart police procedurals. An excellent read and although part of a series could be read as a stand alone.

Detective Karen Hart is reclaiming her life. She has a new relationship. Work is going well. She's attending counselling sessions to deal with past grief. At one of her group counselling sessions she's approached by another member about the disappearance of a friend. The missing woman, Phoebe Woodrow went out for drinks one evening and hasn't been seen since. Currently the police are investigating a series of drink spiking incidents at local pubs. Could Phoebe's disappearance be related to this? Or does it have to do wtih money, the money Phoebe is about to make selling her company to a known gangster?

There are lots of twists and turns making it a very enjoyable read. 3 STARS Thank you Netgalley for the ARC copy.

This is #7 in the DS Karen Hart series but it can easily be read as a standalone.

Life is finally good for Karen but she still belongs to a bereavement support group. One of the other members, Erica, asks Karen for help in locating a friend of hers – Phoebe – who appears to have gone missing.

Karen gets permission from her boss to look into the possible disappearance informally, outside her working hours, but then discovers that there could be a connection to young women having their drinks spiked in Lincoln bars. The focus is on one of these, Imporium, where other women had their drinks spiked on the night Phoebe went missing.

As Karen and her team dig further into Phoebe’s private life, they find out that she was due to become very wealthy once the sale of her business went through. But a local ‘gangster’ character is involved in the purchase of the business so has something dark happened to Phoebe?

I’ve really enjoyed the DS Hart series so I was thrilled to be able to read this next episode. It’s a brilliant police procedural with just enough background/private life on the main characters to add interest without overwhelming. Highly recommended.

Thank you to NetGalley and Amazon Publishing UK for an advance reader copy in return for an honest review.

Someone has been spiking the drinks of young women in the bars in Lincolnshire.
Meanwhile, a friend of Detective Karen Hart reports that one of her friends is missing. Could she be another victim of the serial spiker or is it related to her business dealings?

This is the seventh in the Karen Hart series; it is the fourth that I have read. I like this main character. She is engaging, capable, and doesn’t suffer fools gladly. Her team is composed of likable, supportive, well developed characters. The story is fast paced; I didn’t want to put it down and, in fact, read it in one day.

Fans of British police procedurals will enjoy this well written book, along with others in the series. Although there is mention of events from Karen’s background that are not fully explained, this will work as a standalone. I look forward to the next issue in this series for another entertaining read.

*4 Stars*

Copy kindly received via NetGalley for an honest review.

What an investigation. Karen and hr team worked hard at finding who it was, even though some other detectives didn't really want to work with them to get to the truth. A shame what happened to Ricks mother but Karen and Sophie were there for him. Things could have been done differently and that may have changed certain outcomes. Would recommend.

This is the seventh book of Karen Hart series and although I havent read the previous books but overall, I read as a standalone.

On Friday night, Phoebe was drugged and was not seen again. Karen was contacted about her disappearance and when she was, she finds there are many suspects in this case.

This was a fast-paced thriller. This was unputdownable and there were some twists and turns. I was at the edge of the seat and I couldn't simply put the book out. Overall, I enjoyed reading this thriller series and I am looking forward to read more books from this author. Worth five stars!

Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

Thank you NetGalley and D.S. Butler for allowing me to read an advanced readers copy of “Find her Alive.” Which is said to be published February 7th 2023. This is the 7th book in the Karen hart series and all I gotta say D.S. Butler never disappoints with her writing style , her descriptions of her characters and so much more.

I’m one to read the whole series in order so I downloaded and read the first 6 before I read this one and it definitely helped keep everything in line for me. I got to know the characters over time and it just made this story that much better. I really hope there will be more to the series so I can read them as well.

This book starts off really slow for me but it definitely picked up midway through. We traveled through police corruption, medical corporation, police procedures and so many other things . Karon hart of the Lincoln police department is asked by a friends named Erica from her counseling group to look in the disappearance of a close friend named Phoebe Woodrow. She was last seen Friday morning dropping her grandmas cat off at Erica’s house. Since then no one’s heard from or seen her. Some questions we have to ask ourselves where is Phoebe? , Is she the girl from imperium ? Is she still alive? Must have read so you can find out!

I found this book to be super engaging and overall a great read! The twists and turns were fantastic and I highly recommend it.

Enjoyed this crime thriller but as I’ve not read any of the previous books I didn’t feel I got to really know any of the main characters.

We don’t know the fate of the missing woman that the team are trying to track down until pretty late on in the story.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this story in exchange for my review.

Have you ever sat and thought boy, "I could go for a drink right now?"
Well, not too fast. What if that drink was spiked? What if there's a sicko out there spiking drinks to sexually abuse women? What if this person(s) was involved for more lucrative dealings?
If women were honest in reporting said crimes would anyone even believe them? Would they be victim blamed or shamed?
Are you a frequent bar patron? Do you know and or trust your bartender? Would you trust your friends for a fun night out drinking?
I'm not a drinker but I can say this book hit all the high notes and then some.
We have mystery, we have murder, we have intrigue, and we have ourselves a money trail.
I mean we all know money is the root of all evil and this book is a runaway upon that notion.
Detective Kate has been tasked with finding a missing lady named Phoebe. She was last scene at the local pub and has two timeframes within a day apart of her last sighting.
As readers we learn that she had some friends, family, and some not so lovely acquaintances in her repertoire of this shady inner circle surrounding her.
Could one of those in her personal or professional life be a suspect in her departure?
Is she truly missing?
Could she herself be hiding a secret or two?
With suspects seemingly coming out of the woodwork it's suffice to say that something is terribly wrong.
When DNA evidence is located after a sudden death we learn that not everything is all fun and games. Serious criminal activities are on going and it then switches to a race against time to find Phoebe and solve the mystery.
I love the twist, turns, and thickening plot from every angle with suspects, investigations, and criminal craftsmanship in weeding them out one by one.
It's with great joy that I highly recommend this new thriller to all of you.
Thank you for this wonderful new ARC via Netgalley for this honest review.
Find Her Alive is due out: February 7th via Amazon Publishing UK

3.5/5 stars! In this 7th entry in the "Detective Karen Hart" series, the cop finds herself chasing down a woman. This journey pulls the reader through gangsters, medical corporation corruption, and a slew of other crimes, without seeming to get any closer to solving the question 'Where is Phoebe Woodrow?' We finally find the thread to pull to draw us to the conclusion. I found it to be an engaging story with some positive twists and a good ending. My only issue with this story was the pacing. Once it got going, I couldn't stop reading. But the first 20% was extremely slow.

I received an advance review copy for free through NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

This was an enjoyable and engaging book. Detective Sargeant, Karen Hart, of the Lincoln constabulary is trying to find a friend of her friend, Erica. Phoebe Woodrow has been missing for a few days. It is feared that Phoebe could be a victim of an assailant who drugs and assaults his victims in local pubs. Is this what happened in Phoebe's case? Read this unputdownanble book to find out. I highly recommend it to other police procedural readers. I received an ARC of this book from Net Galley, and the opinion expressed is strictly my own.
