Fiona and Natalie have been best friends for a long time, they'd shared dreams and made plans of travelling the world. That is until Matt changed things and took Fiona away with him.
Both friends are envious of each other but their world changes when they both want the same job.
A great easy read about friendships and lifestyles changes.

I wasn't a huge fan of this one. The characters were shallow, immature and one dimensional. The plotline had promise and could have gone so much further but became increasingly predictable and dull. I didn't love it I'm afraid.

I liked the quick pace of the book with frequent alternating points of view of the two best friends (and when I say quick, I mean every page or so they alternate). The story was a little young for me and a little too sweet. Thanks to Net Galley for a chance to read this.

The book started off OK, but it started to get predictable fairly quickly.

I skimmed the last half to see what happened in the end... and I wish I had just DNF'd it.

Very forgettable unfortunately (at least for me).

this book is fun to read telling a story of two friends who in a way try to better each other and fallout along the way but end up making things right in the end one to read

wasn't sure i'll like this book, but surprisingly i enjoyed it more than i thought i would.

maybe i'm used to having one pov per chapter, the multiple and interchanging pov within one chapter was confusing to me. i get that the point of having pov was to allow the readers to have a better understanding of what the characters were feeling at that moment, but it seemed like the characters had no filter on and were babbling throughout; it felt incoherent to me and it made the chapters seemed longer than necessary.

i'm also grateful to have read this book because it made me think. it brought up being responsible for your actions and owning up to the consequences from those actions. and trying to be an adult just because you're a grown-up or currently at an age where you are expected to be acting in a certain way.

A quick read about two best friends who lived together but one of them moved away.

Obviously more happens than that but not much.

Quite an average read.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC

This book was wild, and not in a good way. Natalie and Fiona are two best friends since forever. Heading toward their 30s, their lives are now going in to very different directions, as things generally do when you get older. Except these two never just have a conversation. You're wanting me to believe they've been best friends forever but now one thing could possibly come between them so they just stop communicating altogether? It wad so unbelievable. On top of that you have to wait until almost the very end for anything to happen. And the "big thing" could have been handled with a phone call. I just didn't like it at all and truly didn't understand the point. It took me so long to finally get through it. This may just be me and I hate to give a not great review to anyone, but this one I just didn't understand.

⭐️⭐️/5

I received an advanced copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you to NetGalley, Amazon Publishing UK, and Nicola Masters.

This was quite the best friend story! Nothing a little talking it out with each other that could've solved everything, but then we wouldn't have a story to read. The plot was good, but I didn't enjoy the characters that much. It was an easy and quick read.

Thank you NetGalley and the Publisher for the eARC!

So I got this book and thought it sounded really good. Unfortunately I spent the whole book waiting for something really good to happen. Unfortunately nothing did it was a mundane book. I was waiting for the falling out to happen unfortunately you have to wait for the end of the book for that and then it was a quick they have fallen out now there friends. I think this book could have been a lot better like I said I was excepting the fight to be quite close the beginning of the book. I realised from this book that I don’t really like these kind of books there just to boring for me. I did like the writing style that was really good as you had the story from one side Fiona then the other side Natalie. Would I recommend this book probably not as I like books with twists and turns and a surprise ending.

Told from the POV of two friends who are both at different crossroads in their lives. I enjoyed reading this book and felt that the characters were well-developed and had me rooting for them both.

Ready for it by Nicola Masters had me enjoying Natalie and Fiona’s friendship vibe but very quickly becoming frustrated at the behaviours and responses of the two girls who still seemed to think they were in high school. I don’t want to give any spoilers but this is a bit of a holiday /YA read. The characters were formed well enough to be unlikeable but without sufficient depth to really understand them properly. Themes of teen friendship , coming of age and social media pressure were in there but I was left with a feeling of the surface having been skimmed. Overall it was a good wee beach read for me. Three stars

📚Book Review: Ready for it by Nicola Masters

This is the story of two best friends, Fiona and Natalie, who both want what the other has. Fiona has just moved out of her house with Natalie and got a place with her boyfriend Matt, whilst Natalie has been on a number of dates with unsuitable guys she’s met online and envies Fiona and Matt’s easy relationship. There’s also a lot of unspoken resentment between them because Fiona ditched Natalie and their plans to go travelling together in favour of going with Matt last year. Then Natalie and Fiona go head to head for the same dream job and Natalie gets it, leaving Fiona stuck in the job she’s had since she was a teenager, working in an ice cream shop.

All of this leads to tension building between them, culminating in a big argument at the pub one evening. However when they wake up the following day they find out that someone else in the pub videoed their argument, posted it online and it’s gone viral. Whilst this is Natalie’s worst nightmare, Fiona revels in the attention and disregards Natalie’s pleas to not fan the flames.

Overall, my thoughts on this book are it was a good concept, and I liked the way it switched between Fiona and Natalie’s perspectives so you got both their viewpoints on the same thing. However I thought the storyline collapsed when the video of them arguing went viral. It’s not like it was a physical fight or there was anything particularly bad/funny said. I thought this whole storyline was much too far fetched and over emphasised. Therefore, not a great read overall. Thank you to NetGalley though for giving me this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is a story of friendship between Natalie and Fiona. They grew up together and then were flatmates. When Fiona moves into a flat with her boyfriend divisions occur. Natalie wonders how she will pay the rent on her own.

Fiona and Natalie both go for the same dream job and they have a massive public showdown. Will their friendship survive?

I did enjoy this book, even though at times I found both of the main characters selfish and infuriating.

Great story of friendship, how life's events change the dynamic and the battle to stay there to support each other when it would be easier not to. Well written from both viewpoints and this isn't a book where you would take sides as you will be cheering both the main characters on.

Ready For It is an interesting read read on female friendship. It is told in the two person narrative of Fiona and Natalie and it took me quite a few chapters before I could get a handle on this. Relateable characters in the main but I have to say I did not like Fiona one bit even after her change in attitude. I also felt the ending was a bit rushed and cliched but overall I enjoyed the book very much.

An enjoyable read which explores female friendship and the pressures it suffers when one party gets into a relationship with the opposite sex. At times I found it confusing as the narrative swopped between the two girls, at times uncertain who was telling their story. Funny. And sad in parts but an easy read.

First, I feel it is only fair to mention that I am not one to DNF books. As your typical type A personality, I like to finish a book once I start it. I know authors put a lot of time and energy into their writing. Therefore, I like to read at least 25% of a book before deciding to DNF it. Sadly, I barely made to 10% before calling it quits on this one.

The main reason I decided to DNF Ready For It is simple, I have a ton of eARC books I need to get through and not enough time. I had high hopes going into this book being that it focuses on female friendship and how jealousy and comparison lead to issues in these relationships. However, as I began reading it became evident I was not connecting with the characters or plot. Instead of forcing myself to continue I made the decision to stop reading.

While I did not end up reading the book I would like to thank Lake Union Publishing and Netgalley for approving me to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Disclaimer: I hope that potential readers of this book see that while this was not a fit for me, reading is subjective, and should not detour them from giving it a shot.
