Thank you to Bethany House Fiction for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.

WOW! Gabrielle Meyer does it again. I will read her grocery list at the point! Another stunning and captivating time travel story. It's hard to say too much without giving an spoilers!

The book is a sequel to When the Day Comes and follows Margaret in 1861, 1941, and 2001. As you can guess, some major American history happens in the those years and Margaret is present and in the middle of all of them. At times I wasn't sure what would happen or how the story would end but I loved how Meyer wrapped it all up. She has a gift for writing stunning scenes and impeccable historical details that just keep you flipping the pages!

If I had to give any small criticism, I liked the characters from When the Day Comes more and I felt more invested in the love story too. But, on the flip side to that, I liked the settings from this book more. But that wasn't enough to not give this book 5 stars!

I am so excited to read the next in the series but wishing I didn't have to wait so long!

I received this book from LibraryThing via Netgalley. No positive review is required and all thoughts are fully my own.

I liked this book, it held my interest. My biggest problem with it is that it is listed as a Christian book. I feel that it should not be. Even though the main character prays, etc. I feel it can't be Christian (though it's a great, clean fiction) as it goes against what is written in the Bible, Hebrews 9:27 Just as man is appointed to die once... Other than this I did enjoy the book.

It is definitely a unique story and very well written. The main characters were mostly very well-developed. The story flowed in an orderly manner. Lastly, it was very well edited.

I give this a 3.5 out of 5 but since most don't allow fractions, I go up to 4 instead of down to 3. If you are looking for a clean, intriguing book, this is for you.

I had the honor of reviewing the first book in this time-travel series and it blew me away. I had an excellent idea of what to expect and Gabrielle Meyer did not disappoint in the least. Having the ability to time-travel sounds great, but three different paths/lives/eras. WOW!

1861-The Civil War
1941-World War II
2001-The War on Terror

All of these periods marked an era in which people had to decide to what lengths they would go to serve their country. Margaret/Maggie/Meg answers the call to medical service in all three eras. She is hardworking and brilliant, but she is challenged by love. Three men who find themselves attracted to her. I liked and disliked all of them. (No, I'm not that fickle.) But as story progressed, I could see where she was leaning toward and it did make sense. She had to ask herself a lot of questions: What is love? Who is enough for her? Who can she be 100% herself around? In each era, she slowly learns who holds the key to her heart.

I love that the book ended with an open door for Book Three.

In This Moment by Gabrielle Meyer is book 2 in her Timeless series. It's a wonderfully crafted story full of time travel in three different time periods! It's full of clean romance, friendship and Faith. Ms. Meyer's world building is excellent as is her plot and characters. This story swept me away and I can't wait read her first book in this series, When the Day Comes! I highly encourage you to read this wonderful book and series -It's a Keeper!

5 STARS!

I received this book for free. A favorable review was not required. All views expressed are my own. Thank you to Bethany House Publishers and Ms. Meyers for the opportunity to read and review this wonder book.

A very interesting story with great timelines. It was as good as the first one. The religion throughout the story didn't help the story but didn't ruin it either.

I love the premise of this time travel book. It's so fascinating. Maggie has a special gift that gives her three different life paths...one in 1861 at the start of the civil war, one in 1941 at the start of WWII, and one in 2001 shortly before 9-11 (although she doesn't know that's coming). She is 9 months from her 21st birthday when she'll have to choose which life to live and which two to forfeit. Meeting special men in each time period only complicates things for her.

This is a unique form of time travel and I loved it. Maggie had to be so careful not to let on what she knows is about to happen. How awful would it be to know when and where something dreadful is going to happen and not be able to do anything about it. It's good we don't know the future. She had an interest in medicine in all of her lives and had to be thoughtful in how she did things in the past so that they wouldn't change history or reveal too much about medical advances in the future. That would also be tricky.

I enjoyed all of her families and friends and wished I could see what they were doing as different paths closed. For a minute, I wondered if two of the men might be the same (time travelers also) as they both described her as "beguiling" which isn't that common of a word.

This book was very well-written. It was hard to put down. I felt for her having to make a decision to say goodbye to two of her own families and groups of friends. It was a heart wrenching decision for her and it was intriguing hearing the counsel she received about how to decide. It's a great read and I'd highly recommend it.

Thank you to Bethany House for providing me with a free copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I have been waiting for this book since I turned the last page of “When The Day Comes” Book One in Gabrielle Meyer’s Timeless series.
“In This Moment” is Maggie’s story. Who makes her first appearance (small spoiler) at the end of the first book. Don’t fret, it really can be read as a standalone.
It is not a split-time novel in the traditional sense, nor is it a dual-timeline. It truly is in a category all its own.
Maggie is a time-crosser. Traveling across time in three different lives, three different eras. We watch nine months of Maggie’s life. At the end of those nine months, she must decide her fate. Which life, which era she wants to remain in.
Day by day takes the reader fully into each of Maggie’s lives. Eventually, Gabrielle Meyer speeds up the timeline. But for the sake of “time” and pages. Nothing is lost in the story. Instead, we see Maggie’s loves and eventually losses (small spoiler alert).
Some historical novels can read in part like textbooks. The authors adding in historical bits but without the smoothness of story. Not in a jarring way but sometimes enough to notice. Gabrielle Meyer weaves in significant moments in American history in a genuine way. She adds in many surprising turns. And those that you may have seen coming are still so satisfying in how they are played out.
Readers certainly want to root for Maggie in each era. Caught up in her own quandary of moving closer to deciding her true God given path. It will be difficult to remain patient as I wait for book three.

IN THIS MOMENT is the second book in the TIMELESS series by Gabrielle Meyer. It can be read as a standalone. Maggie has inherited the ability to time travel. She is living three lives–in 1861, 1941, and 2001. In 1861, she and her father are close associates of Abraham Lincoln. In 1941 she is a Navy Nurse on a hospital ship to Pearl Harbor. In 2001, she is a medical student with plans to become a surgeon.

As always, time travel books should be based on a strong method of time travel, and specific rules of time travel should be set by the author. The method of time travel is simple. It is a genetically inherited ability, and our main character Maggie travels through time when she is sleeping. As for the time travel rules, the first is that Maggie cannot willingly change history, or she will forfeit her life in that timeline. In addition, she will have to choose one timeline when she turns a certain age and give up the others forever. Another unique rule that I really like is that she inhabits different bodies in each timeline and injuries in one timeline are not reflected in the others. I feel the method of time travel in this book is successful, although maybe slightly too easy. The rules the author has set work very well.

The movement from one timeline to another occurs between chapters, and it is not confusing because each chapter is headed with a date and location. The author’s ability to immerse us in three separate periods of history is commendable. I enjoyed all three timelines and they were all associated with very important events in the United States. There were also three love interests, but I found one to be much more compelling than the others. There is a strong Christian message of trusting God’s plan, and I like that the author incorporated time travel into a Christian book.

I received a free copy of this book from Bethany House via Austenprose PR. My review is voluntary and the opinions expressed are my own.

Gabrielle Meyer wins again at combining historical fiction and time travel. While I did like the first in the series better, this was still addicting and powerful. I had tears a few times and was desperate to find out if Maggie would end up with my favorite.

Wow! Gabrielle Meyer doesn’t disappoint with her incredible creative and innovative story line! I wanted to really take my time with this book and savor it. The story centers on Maggie who lives in 1861, 1941, and 2001. Every night she wakes up in one of the time lines goes to sleep to wake up in the next one and repeat the day and so on with the next time line. So she essentially lives the same day three times each in a different time period. I loved how rich each of those pivotal times in American history is. I’m excited she has book three coming out next year!

In this Moment
By Gabrielle Meyer

I have been so excited to read this book! This is the second book in the Timeless series by Gabrielle Meyer. The first book, When the Day Comes was one of my favorite reads so far in 2023.

This series has the most interesting premise of any book I have read. How would you feel if you woke up every morning in one of three different time periods, if you lived three different lives? What if you had to choose only one life to live on your twenty-first? At her birth, Maggie’s parents knew she was a time-crosser because she bore the same mark as they did. They both lived in two time periods before they chose their lives. But Maggie’s journey was different because she lived in THREE time periods, 1861, 1941, 2001.

This book is full of twists and turns as Maggie’s story (ies) unfold. The storyline is intriguing and the characterizations are rich. I wasn’t sure until the end which life she would choose. I really didn’t want this story to end. Speaking of ending….Oh my 😱 I can’t wait for the next book!!

This book and its predecessor, When the Day Comes are solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me.

The second book of a series, Maggie is a time crosser who simultaneously lives 3 lives in 1861, 1941, and 2001. When she goes to sleep in one life she wakes up in the next. She has supportive family and friends (some know the truth and some do not) as well as romance in each timeline. She is also witnessing significant events in American history: the Civil War, Pearl Harbor and 9/11. Just like the first book, From this Moment, I really liked the writing style and main character. There was some angst leading up to the conclusion (what will she choose??) and the epilogue was perfection. I know this book just released but how long until book three?

I received an ebook from the publisher via NetGalley. A positive was not required and all opinions are my own.

In This Moment by Gabrielle Meyer takes the reader on Maggie’s journey through three time periods – 1861, 1941, and 2001. Each timeline has a war looming for the United States and a romantic interest that draws at Maggie’s heart, but the story concentrates on Maggie’s struggle to decide which period to live in permanently. I experienced a little confusion at the beginning as I adjusted to all the timelines and secondary characters. Fortunately, after a few chapters in each year, I felt invested in each time strand’s plot and easily time hopped with Maggie.

As the lead character for In This Moment, Maggie is highly relatable. Her doubt and confusion about determining God’s will for her future leads to strong, realistic emotions. I cried right along with her at one point. Many Christians struggle to find God’s will and the recurrent message about making choices out of faith, not fear or pressure from others, felt opportune for 2023 and all of Maggie’s time periods.

In This Moment by Gabrielle Meyer lands as book two in the Timeless series and I do recommend reading its predecessor, When the Day Comes, first. Reading both books will offer a fuller reading experience as characters from the first novel cameo and how the time traveling works will already be understood. Of the two currently published books in the series, In This Moment is my favorite, but I am looking forward to book three.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I was provided a copy of this book by the author or publisher. All opinions in this review are my own.

Looks like I'm in the minority on this one, but I just wasn't enthralled. The story is a great idea, and I liked the alternating chapters. I just wasn't captured by the writing style, which felt stiff, and also the dialogue felt very similar across timelines (I was never fully invested or felt immersed in 1941 for example, and that period is my favorite timeframe--I read a lot of it). In other words, the time periods were not distinct enough for my historical fiction tastes. I will try her other books though. Thank you for the chance to read.

I was excited to have an opportunity to review In This Moment by Gabrielle Meyer. This is a unique novel involving time travel. Maggie inherited the ability to cross time. She lives on day in 1861, the next day in 1941, and the third day in 2001. She doesn’t age beyond her normal age, but she does retain the memories from all three time periods. She has different sets of parents and friends in each time period. When she turns twenty-one, she will need to choose which time period she wants to stay in permanently and she will die in the other time periods. How will she choose? She doesn’t want to complicate matters with romance, but there is a special someone in each time period. She works in the medical field in Washington DC in all three time periods. In 2001 she is a medical student working towards her goal of becoming a surgeon, in 1941 she is a navy nurse, and in 1861 she is trying to help wounded soldiers against her father’s wishes.

I greatly enjoyed this book. The alternating chapters kept the story moving. The time periods selected were all three equally riveting. I really liked that. I loved that Maggie was able to use her medical expertise in different ways in the different time periods, but that she had to take care to not alter time by sharing information from the future. I also liked the romance.

This is the second book in the Timeless series but worked well as a stand alone novel. I really want to go back now and read the first book!

In This Moment by Gabrielle Meyer – 5 big stars! WOW. Another favorite book of 2023 for me! This Timeless series is one of my favorite series of ALL time. I just love the uniqueness of the story, the time travel element, our characters and the faith content throughout. If you haven’t read book 1, When the Day Comes, please do!

In book 2, we follow Maggie who inherited the time-crossing gene from her parents. Maggie lives 3 separate lives in 1861, 1941 and 2001. In her 1861 path, Maggie is the daughter of a senator during the onset of the Civil War. In 1941, she is a Navy nurse on the brink of World War II. And in 2001, she is a medical student, working to become a surgeon. We all know as the reader what she is about to endure in 2001 – yet she does not. The decisions she must make about which path to choose – with love interests in each time, who does she truly love? With her time-crossing parents and her sister in 1941, how could she leave them behind by choosing another path? And which career decision does she want more for her life? The decisions she has to make will be the toughest yet……We follow Maggie in her journey through all 3 time paths and wonder how the Lord will lead her in her decisions….

Ya’ll, this book was AMAZING. I don’t know how to even describe how much I love this series. If you love a good time travel story with a strong romance and family – this series is it! I loved the romance in this story – I could see which romance was going to be her strongest, but each time period had so much importance for Maggie. I don’t know how you can choose what to do. I love how this story helps us see how easily sometimes God chooses for us and leads you to what you should do. I love all of the history surrounding the war and we get to see big historical figures like the Lincolns and it’s just so unique!

I also loved the plot twist in the middle – I was shocked! Did not see that coming at all. Gabrielle Meyer’s series has just blown me away and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series – because after that epilogue, I AM SO HERE FOR IT! Thank you to Baker Publishing, Bethany House and NetGalley for a copy to honestly read and review. I will be discussing this book on my YouTube channel, BookLoverAmanda, as well.

This book! I read this book slower than I usually do as I wanted to savor it.
This is the second book in the Timeless series and I do recommend you read them in order because of spoilers.
The book is just incredible! It has three timelines, each incredible and the author combines them so effortlessly. I enjoyed each timeline equally. I honestly did not have a favorite; they were all exceptional.
This book has a unique look at time traveling. When our main character goes to sleep in one-time period, she'll wake up in another time period without any time having passed.
She splits her time between 1861, 1941 and 2001 each in very unique and different situations.
There are positives and negatives in each time period, and she lives a very different life in each one. I enjoyed reading the rich historical details about each time period.
Not many authors can combine three time periods and have a story that's not confusing or leaves you waiting to see what the connection is but not this author, the stories are seamlessly woven with a beautiful outcome that I just loved. I eagerly look forward to more by this author.

"My heart began to fill with the knowledge that God had not been far away after all. He had been as close as each of my loved ones, working through their lives to minister to mine."

What an absolutely incredible journey. Gabrielle Meyer won my heart with When the Day Comes; she has made me a lifetime reader with In This Moment.

First things first. To really appreciate the marvel that this book is, you really need to read the first book. It sets everything up so beautifully and just gives all the context you need to fully enjoy this book.

Gabrielle Meyer tackled some really difficult time periods in this book, and she did each one marvelously. The time travel is so unique and well-done and intriguing that each new day in each of Maggie's lives pulls you along and keeps you riveted. Maggie's lives in all of the time periods were fresh and fascinating—to the point where I couldn't decide which one I wanted her to choose.

I loved the faith elements and the Christian themes present throughout the book. Meyer absolutely is a master when it comes to writing a beautiful balance between romance, faith, history, and pacing.

Because I think everyone deserves to go into this book totally blind, I won't say much more, especially about the plot. This book is incredible on so many levels, and I absolutely cannot wait to read more in this series and world. Reading In This Moment made me want to go back and reread the first book just so I could hop back into this one again. These books and this series will stay with me for a long time and will be read and reread again and again.

Full of complex characters, an incredibly crafted plot, and the sweetest romance(s), any and all fans of historical fiction should pick this book up.

Content: Loss, death, war violence, injury
Romance: Just kisses

Thank you so much to the author and Bethany House for the advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own—and I am thrilled to add this book to my shelves.

Oh.my.word. This beautiful and compelling time-slip romance is pure creative genius! I devoured it almost in one sitting because I was so invested in the main characters

Maggie is a time crosser living three different lives in 1861, 1941, and 2001. When she reaches her 21st birthday, she will have to choose one life and leave behind the others forever.

Things I Loved:
Plot twists
Historical events
Fast-paced story
Sweet romance
Light faith thread
No plot holes
The Ending & The Epilogue!
Love Triangle (love square?)

I know, I know. I always say that I don't like love triangles but SOMEHOW this one worked for me despite the angst I felt over which of the three love interests she would choose.

Despite the fact that the book covers some very tragic historical events, I loved the hopeful and patriotic tone of the book. The message about faith and taking a step forward when we can't see the end from the beginning was very poignant, and the positive messages far outshone the sense of loss over the dramatic events that occurred.

I don't want to say too much because this really is a book that you need to pick up blind, but I will say that you really need to read the first book before this one. Just trust me.

Highly recommend and I will be waiting anxiously for the next book in the series.

I received a complimentary copy but a positive review was not required.
