4.5 stars for In This Moment. I was torn between Maggie’s 3 paths and didn’t know how she would decide! In This Moment made me smile and cry. I will definitely be recommending this book to anyone who will listen to me talk about books! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was I felt she made her choice of paths based on a man. She found she didn’t love one of the men, so she couldn’t choose that path. Otherwise I truly enjoyed the book and can’t wait for the next one!!

I must say the second book in this series did not disappoint.

I really love this series! What a mind-bending concept, a triple timeline. I can’t wait for more from this author.

I requested this book on NetGalley because I thought the premise was really interesting - a young woman, Maggie, who is a time traveler between three different time periods (1861, 1941, and 2001) or paths, as she called them, and must choose the one path where she wishes to continue to live on her 21st birthday- and I was not disappointed. Maggie would go to sleep in one historical time period and then wake up the next morning in the next historical time period, and then wake in the third time period after that one the next night, and then begin all over again on the fourth night. A born healer, she lived in 1861 as the pampered daughter of a Senator who connects with Clara Barton to help her with the care of soldiers during the Civil War, is a military nurse in WWII in 1941, and is a medical student in 2001. No spoilers but this is definitely worth reading. I also realized this is book 2 in Gabrielle Meyer's Timeless series so I do plan to read book 1 eventually. My only complaint is the story really pushes religion with the characters contstantly talking about God but then I realized that it is listed as "Christian Fiction."

What extensive research, historical events, historical people, and wonderful storytelling went into this book with three timelines!! I could not put it down. The connection to book one was wonderful. In This Moment by Author Gabrielle Meyer kept me guessing and turning pages far too late in the night. What a lovely and thoroughly captivating story! This journey through history, journey of faith, learning to trust God in all circumstances, and ultimately determining where Margaret/Maggie/Meg belongs, was fascinating. She learns to live fully in each moment she's been given.

I loved following Margaret, Maggie, and Meg through 1861, 1941, and 2001 in her paths, during three pivotal times in American history. Each timeline is well developed and there are characters in each timeline who are close to her heart. She certainly loves people in each timeline, and healing is the next most important thing, so she has to ask herself where she can do the most good? What an agonizing choice she will have to make. Several moments were so touching they brought tears to my eyes.

Maggie inherited a gift from her time crossing parents and will soon have to choose if she wants to live in 1861, 1941, and 2001. When she decides, her other two selves will leave those eras. There are possible romances in each era that make it difficult to choose.

I really liked this story and thought her time crossing abilities were fascinating. I don't think I would have selected the one that she did. I appreciated the author's efforts to write a lot of historical content. I'm looking forward to the series continuing!

My one criticism would be that slavery is barely mentioned in the 1861 era. For something so central to the Civil War, it was surprising that the word slave is not in the book at all, and slavery is only there once.

I fell in love with Gabrielle Meyer's writing style in When the Day Comes, and have been waiting for this book a long time...and it did not disappoint! In this story, we have three timelines, but she weaves them together so seamlessly...she makes writing a multifaceted novel look easy. The three timelines share similarities, which helps to neatly tie them and our protagonist together, and there are many surprising twists and turns, particularly in the romance department, but you won't guess which timeline our protagonist chooses until the very end. Eagerly awaiting the next one in the series!

Wow! In This Moment is another brilliantly executed time-crossing novel by Gabrielle Meyer. Her storytelling genius really shines through with three equally captivating timelines that transition beautifully! The historical detail is amazing in all three Washington D.C. settings—1861, 1941, and 2001. Well-crafted, compelling characters touched my heart and stirred my emotions. The real historical characters mesh perfectly with the fictional ones. I love the first person narrative. Having the story told from Maggie’s point of view helps you connect more deeply with her feelings and struggles. I especially appreciate the strong faith thread imparting valuable, relevant life lessons. This fascinating, unputdownable read is definitely headed for my Best Reads Ever list! I look forward to the next book in the Timeless series which I know will be as wonderful as the first two! I think fans of romantic historical fiction and time-crossing stories will love this book as much as I did, and I highly recommend it!

I thoroughly enjoyed When the Time Comes and was greatly anticipating the next in the series ‘In This Moment’ when I learned that there would be three timelines, I was wondering how this would all work out with Meg time crossing. It was orchestrated beautifully by Gabrielle. I love history so it was lovely to read timelines that I had not lived and one that I did live through and see how she adapts to each everytime she crossed time. Gabrielle’s research is well done and thorough as she even travels to do book research, per following her on social media.

In the previous book you could clearly see what timeline she would prefer to stay in. In this book, she ended up needing to rely on the Lord to guide her. When I read these books I honestly take on how she is feeling and how much she loves each of her parents/families and how it is a difficult decision to make. It’s a clear reminder that sometimes we have no choice but to fully rely (and should) on God to guide us in life’s most difficult decisions. I can not wait for the next book. I was provided a copy of this book for my honest review. These opinions are solely my own.

I adored the first book in this time travel series, and In This Moment did not disappoint. Maggie has inherited time travel from each of her parents and finds herself living three lives: 1861, 1941, and 2001. Each is a year marked by war, and each is filled with people she loves. But she knows on her 21st birthday, she has to decide where she will stay. It could be jarring to travel back and forth between three time periods, but because the story is told solely from Maggie's POV, I felt incredibly connected to her journey. I cared as she navigated the journeys and experienced challenges in each life. A compelling read with wonderful characters and depth. Highly recommend.

In This Moment by Gabrielle Meyer is the second book in the Timeless series, but I think it works really well as a standalone. I loved the first book, When the Day Comes, so I’d say read the entire series because you won’t regret it, but if you really want to, this can work as a standalone.

This time, we have three different timelines instead of two, due to the unique nature of Maggie’s parents, who are both time travelers. I applaud the author for accomplishing such a feat, complete with different characters and family members in each time line, and keep them all interesting and distinct. It seems like a herculean feat to pull this off, so I wanted to start with compliments. And continue with compliments, as I absolutely loved this book and to no one’s surprise rate it 5 stars.

But first, we have Maggie/Meg/Margaret, from now on referred to as Maggie for convenience sake, who has a time line in 1861, 1941 and 2001. She lives one day in one age, and wakes up in the next time. By her 21st birthday, she has to choose a path by staying up late in the preferred timeline, from then on she only has one timeline to live in. For Maggie, this is quite the impossible choice, in every life she stands to loose something. In 1861 it’s her beloved Papa and a Civil War that’s at an outbreak where she feels she can make a difference with her healing skills. In 1941, her time traveling family lives, and she has a sister whom she cares deeply about and needs her. With her sister she is a navy nurse. In 2001, she lives for her school, as she desperately tries to finish med school before her 21st birthday, to soak up all the knowledge. Her ambitious and loving parents push her to be her best self and she shares a dorm with her bestie, who knows about her time travelling.

And in each path, she meets a guy… we have two politicians and a doctor. She’s holding everyone at a distance, as she doesn’t want to complicate her choice of timeline, but it’s getting increasingly hard… I have to say as someone who hates love triangles, this love square was very entertaining and very well done. I was invested in each path and outcome, and it didn’t feel like a love square because of the time crossing and the way things progressed. I can’t say much because of spoilers, but the romance was very well done and the main focus of this story, and I swooned a lot.

I loved how different the story is from When The Day Comes, how the focus lies on different things. In When the Day Comes the protagonist had made her choice early on, but here the focus lies on the doubt, on the merits of all timelines and above all, seeking the council of God for the course of your life versus your own ability to choose. There were many factors to take into account, and Maggie kept doubting her choices. Thankfully she is surrounded by many wise people, their wisdom spoke to me as well.

The shifting timelines make the story very interesting as there is never a dull moment, and I was equally invested in all of them. I was surprised by all the twists and turns, and at a certain date I was quite anxious, and wow that was excruciating. Maggie goes through a lot in all her timelines (I mean in most there is a war going on), and her grief felt raw and made me cry. I felt all the feels. For me the only downside is a resolution that felt too quick/abrupt, but otherwise, I love this book to bits front to cover. I recommend it to everyone who wants a book with both depth and romance, combined with amazing characters. I can safely say Gabrielle Meyer has made her way into my autobuy author list.

I loved the first book in this series, but I think that this one was even better! I love that Margaret has three different time lines in this one, and that each one dealt with something unique. I love how the author tied it all together. I can only imagine how hard it would be to have to choose one story to be a part of! I highly recommend picking up this story!

I had previously read When the Day Comes by this author, which was first in this Timeless series, and really enjoyed it! So it was a pleasure to get to read the second book of the series. Soooo incredibly binge-worthy! Wow do I love this series! I wish there were 100 of these books to read haha! Gabrielle Meyer does an amazing balancing act between not two, but three timelines - and wow did she pick great ones! I was totally here for it all. At this point, I think I would read anything Meyer writes!

After reading the first book in this series, I was excited to continue the story of time-hopping individuals who got to live in more than one timeline for the first 21 (or more) years of their lives. The addition of a third timeline had its good and bad points for this book, I thought. It was fun to explore more timelines, but was sometimes a lot to keep up with. I like the main character, who was the daughter of two time-hoppers. I thought the story was well-plotted and had just the right amount of angst over which timeline she would choose. I do wonder how anyone could choose not to have electricity, indoor plumbing, and modern medicine, however. That's a choice I don't think I could make! Overall it was a great book and I hope she writes a third one after seeing the end of this one.

Gabrielle Meyer has managed to write a sequel to When the Day Comes that is just as entertaining and inspirational as the first book in the series! I loved the historical significance of the three dates the time traveling main character lives through, and they all paralleled each other in a meaningful way and the smart and careful main character. The three separate plots were all tied together in a natural way and the romances were realistic and well developed. Plus it included a very good message about being patient until God's plan is revealed and trusting in it.

After reading Gabrielle Meyer’s first book in this time traveling series, I was extremely excited to read In This Moment and was not disappointed! Maggie’s lives in three separate time periods, 1861, 1941, and 2001. She is pulled in all three directions trying to decide which life she will pick by her 21st birthday. I really enjoyed having a more modern time period (2001) in this book and couldn’t wait to find out which world Maggie eventually chooses. I enjoyed this second installment even better than the first!

Listen, I'm not a huge fan of time slips. I just don't love being jarred from time period to time period. I almost didn't request this book, because who wants to be jarred in THREE directions? Not to mention the love square.

But it just goes to show that even those ingredients that I generally don't love can still create a compelling story in the hands of the right author. I really didn't know what or how Meg/Maggie would choose which era to stay in, because she loved all three of them and had meaningful work and relationships in all.
There's some lines about following your heart that I think could be misconstrued out of context. In this case, she prayed for guidance first and foremost, and the Lord really did seem to be letting her make the decision, like there was no wrong answer, spiritually speaking. So in those cases, how do you make such a life changing decision? I think we've all been there - and then in hindsight you can see how God did answer and lead you to the final choice. In the end, the question was answered and the choice obvious.
Loved the plot twist halfway through. This author's writing and unique stories result in books I just can't put down.
