Any young girl who is an animal lover will enjoy this book that has the message that they can also make an impact in wildlife. It is clear that the females highlighted in the book are passionate about wildlife, and I think youngsters should be exposed to that.

All of the Rebel Girls books I've read so far have been well-written, informative, and beautifully designed, and this was no exception.

I have also loved books about animals of those who take care of them especially the preserving of them for future generations. I loved the stories as well as the illustrations of the women and it made me what to find out more about those featured.

I highly recommend this to everyone.

I remember when I was younger I really loved reading about animals and the people who took care of them and worked to make the lives of animals better. I didn't realize how many powerful women were really included in helping animals until I read this book. I really wish a book like this would have existed when I was a kid because it would have really helped me believe in my dreams of helping animals.

The graphics for each woman mentioned was beautifully done.

All young girls who love animals should read this book and see the impact these women have had in helping animals.

Engaging and inspirational introduction to a range of women from diverse backgrounds working in various areas of conservation.

Great illustrations and quotes, with just enough information to prompt further study and discussion.

I always enjoy the various Rebel Girls books because when I read them, I come away with knowledge about people I’ve never heard of. I particularly enjoyed this addition to the series because it informs the reader about various Rebel Girls who work with animals. I learned about quite a few people who work with some fascinating animals. In my classroom, I try to teach my students about a new person every day and try to focus on lesser known figures. This book will certainly help with that, and I know students will find it interesting to read as well.

I love these books so much! My daughter is absolutely obsessed with learning about women of history and the rebel girls are our favorite. So when I saw this one available on NetGalley, I lept at the opportunity to read this with her in advance. It’s informative, empowering and a wonderful read!

Another great book from the Rebel Girls series, this time about women who work with and preserve animals of all kinds and all over the world. I liked that the women themselves came from several backgrounds, were famous or not so much, younger ones were also included, and that they had different jobs and techniques. My third graders will adore this book!

I really liked the short and informative stories in the original Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls books, and the story of Black Mambas being one of my favourites I was immediately interested in this one focusing on women working with and for wildlife.

Compared to the books with no specific topic this felt - though inspiring - rather less epic for me. Those stories usually felt ground-shattering like the promise of our generation that we can change the world, be whoever we want, and can save every cause that seems lost. As this book focuses on a specific topic, the emphasis is now shifted from this superhero vibe to the everyday struggle to make the world a better place.
For me as an adult in her 30's and on the brink of burnout this volume felt more melancholic than I expected.
However, for children I think it can be as inspirational as its predecessors or maybe even more since they can explore a lot of different interesting carrier choices in the field and also have some more realistic expectations about how to live a life making an impact.

It's probably no coincidence that the title of this book doesn't include the phrase 'good night stories' for it's really a guide for children on how to be rebels and change the world even if you don't feel like a superhero.

I loved Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls so I was very excited when I saw this was going to be published and had to have a read!

It is a beautifully written, hugely captivating book which celebrates women, many of whom I had not heard of, through history who have a passion for looking after animals. This book shows readers a variety of different ways they can help animals. I really liked that women of all ages have been highlighted showing that brilliant conservation work and helping animals can be done throughout someone's life.

There are also 25 extraordinary illustrators contributed to this book with their own individual styles for each portrait. There are also wonderful ideas of how to be an animal ally at the back of the book as well as art and craft activities as well.
(Thanks to Net Galley & Rebel Girls for the Amazing Book!)

I love reading books that inspire me and teach me something new, and Rebel Girls Animal Allies: 25 Tales of Women Working with Wildlife did just that. This book is a collection of short stories about amazing women who have dedicated their lives to helping animals and protecting the environment. From scientists to activists, from veterinarians to conservationists, these women have shown courage, compassion, and creativity in their work.

The stories are written in an engaging and accessible way, with colorful illustrations and fun facts. I learned so much about different animals and their habitats, as well as the challenges and opportunities that these women face. Some of the stories were familiar to me, such as Jane Goodall and Dian Fossey, but others were new and surprising, such as Lucy King and her work with elephants and bees1, or Sylvia Earle and her exploration of the ocean depths1. Each story also has a quote from the woman featured, which adds a personal touch and a source of motivation.

This book is perfect for anyone who loves animals and wants to learn more about the women who are making a difference in the world. It is also a great book for young readers who want to discover new role models and possibilities for their future. Rebel Girls Animal Allies: 25 Tales of Women Working with Wildlife is a book that celebrates the power of women and the beauty of nature. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be inspired and informed.

Inspiring, empowering and entertaining!

I adore the idea behind this project; it’s so simple and yet absolutely brilliant! These are not only stories of brave and passionate women, this is also a great lesson in feminism; this is perfect way to show little girls that they can change the world.

The stories are short so we don’t have to worry about the short attention span of our young readers, and the gorgeous illustrations are a perfect finishing touch. Even though all stories revolve around animal lovers they are very different from each other. That way we learn about different ways of supporting our planet; from researching sharks to building zoo habitats and advocating to ban using animals in circuses. My favorite part is including stories of very young animal activists who prove that it’s never too early to make a difference.

Highly recommended for girls AND boys!

Thank you Rebel Girls and NetGalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

My third read from the Rebel Girls series, and it definitely didn't disappoint!

These books are super quick to read and include one-page bios for each woman and a portrait, also created by women. My favorite part were the quotes included because it really took you inside the mind of each person. As always, this was inspirational, making points such as that age doesn't matter to make a difference, which is especially useful since the target audience is young children.

I also especially loved how each illustration related to the woman's cause and the animals they helped with their work. In addition, I enjoyed the writing style (how it is slightly fairytale-esque) and the layout (with little paw prints!).

The variety in the jobs (from filmmaker to conservationist to ichthyologist) and stories (from helping locals preserve lions to starting a Black Birder's Week) was wonderful as well as the diversity in the country of the women and the illustrators (though the majority was from the USA).

This is a lovely guide to girls and young women making a difference in the animal world. It highlights nature enthusiasts, conservationists, and others making strides for the animal kingdom. It's a lovely compilation.

An inspiring and touching read, this book combines the amazing efforts of women around the world who have fought for those that cannot fight for themselves. It is an emotional read that makes you wonder why more people do not show the same compassion and kindness towards the environment and animals that these women do. The amazing thing is reading about how one woman will see a problem and then seek out a solution, which seems to not only be able to solve the problem, but inspire others to follow along in their footsteps.

Rebel Girls Animal Allies

“Rebel Girls Animal Allies: 25 Tales of Women Working With Wildlife” is another installment of the rebel girls book series, which strives to educate children about important women through history. I was very excited to read this, as I usually am when I pick up another Rebel Girls book.

As always, the art was unique and diverse, since multiple artists came together to create it. I always enjoy all the different styles I get to see. One thing I really loved was the younger girls added into the series, girls the same age as the target audience who made history in the eyes of wildlife preservation and protection. It’s a great idea to showcase that even young girls can make such a big impact.

I also enjoyed the end of the book where there are resources encouraging the reader to become animal allies as well, with many different ideas and crafts to choose from. An amazing book as always, 5/5 stars

I love the Rebel Girls series, and this one did not disappoint. I loved the broad range of jobs these women hold - not just working directly with animals as one would expect but also as artists and architects and more! I also appreciated the broad range of ages - it shows young readers that you're never too young or inexperienced to make a difference!
