Rebel Girls has done it again! A great list of women who have worked with and currently work with animals. They've got some of the legends in there - Jane Goodall and Temple Grandin, but for the most part is was women I was not familiar with. The writing was enough to get me interested and feel as if I knew more about the person highlighted without overwhelming me with information. However, there is also a QR code at the tops of the articles so if one wanted to find out more, they have that opportunity. Artwork is awesome, since it was focusing on animals/environment there was a magical quality to the art that I loved and I know our students will do. Definitely adding it to our collection in April!

I LOVE these books. Even as a college student, I love colorful artwork and the perfect amount of information. For middle or elementary educators, I think these books would be great for a start on learning about Animal Allies and maybe the beginning of a more significant project.
I love the diversity represented in this book with a variety of interests and ethnicities displayed.

I love these Rebel Girl books because they are a treasure trove of information for young and older people alike. Animal Allies is a must read for anyone who loves animals and is interested in different animal activists. The illustrations are fun and the section at the back of the book where you can write your own story, draw etc. is great! This book collection would be a great gift for any young "Rebel Girl"!

"Rebel Girls Animal Allies - 25 Tales of Women Working with Wildlife" is another perfect book from the Rebel Girls series. The beautiful illustrations make the book even more special.
Each story brings an amazing and inspirational woman (with different backgrounds, ages and origins) to show our girls that they can have a meaningful path with joy along the way, while helping the planet.
Hopefully our young girls will get to explore their options as they grow up and they will be able to find and follow their purpose.
I recommend reading one story at a time!
I wish all libraries could have at least one copy of .this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.

Thanks to the author and publisher for providing a free ARC copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I always love the Rebel Girl books, when I saw the newest one was about animal allies I was excited to see who they found to feature. that's always been my favorite thing about them, is how much variety they find for each book. It makes it easy for kids to find SOMONE who interests them. It's also remarkable how they always find kids who have accomplished something for the kids to look up to.
As a naturalist myself I love that not every "rebel girl" is focused on mammals or "cute" animals. My snakes, bats, and other creepy crawlies all got love. Showing kids how important they are, not only to the environment but how people can find beauty in them. as someone who spends their days showing people the beauty in creatures that are normally scary, I love to see kids' books doing it too!! Also, as someone who lives in Cincinnati and saw Christina and her team working with Fiona live, I Love the inclusion of her
I loved reading this and I'm excited for it to be published so ill be able to add it to my center's kids' library.

Within “Rebel Girls: Animal Allies” lies 25 stories about 25 important people who are working to protect the animals we share Earth with.
When have “Rebel Girl” books been a disappointment? Never! The stories are short enough to keep young minds interested to the end but jam-packed with information even adults would find interesting. After learning about the diverse group of women, readers get lost in the gorgeous illustrations and depiction of the star of each tale. What always stands out is that each story has a unique style of art accompanying it.
Working together is a theme throughout the book, including for the readers. The back of the book provides information for the reader. Tips and tricks on what we can do right now to help protect the animals.
The book provides a foundation for research projects and appeals to the leisure reader; a must-have for school libraries.

This is just the kind of book I love to give as a gift. It's perfect for young readers to explore on their own or read with a nearby grown-up, and will inevitably have them wanting to search the computer or visit the library to learn more about the women profiled. The stories for each ally are only a page so they keep the reader's attention, and the illustrations and book design are vibrant to keep little eyes engaged. I especially appreciated that the profiles showed a range of ethnicities and also ages–there are young women doing amazing things!

Another stellar book added to the rebel girls series. This book is ideal for any child but it is especially good for a girl who might want to grow up and work with animals!

This installation of the Rebel Girls series does not disappoint! Rebel Girls Animal Allies is a beautiful collection featuring a huge variety of women who study and fight for animals and conservation. It succinctly details the careers and activism of 25 individuals and is very inspiring. This book is also beautifully illustrated like others in the series. I loved how children can imagine their own future and determine ways they can help or pursue future animal-related careers. Children will love this and be so inspired!

Thank you NetGalley and Rebel Girls for providing this ARC.
