This was a really powerful and timely read that everyone can benefit from picking up. Brianna Holt intertwines her own personal experiences being a Black woman in America with impactful research. This is a thought-provoking book that will have you reflecting on the past, present, and the future.

Brianna Holt wrote this beautifully, almost painfully so. The work is well researched, but also honest and personal. She manages to capture complex emotions/experiences, and delivers them effortlessly without mincing her words.

A timely, validating, and comforting work. Holt covers a lot of ground and comes with receipts and arresting personal testimony about the burden and blessing of Black womanhood.
