Love
A Novel of Grief and Desire
by Jefferson R. Blackburn-Smith
Description
After the death of his wife, Ed Gideon survived the bone-numbing loss and loneliness by narrowing his focus to only work and his two college-age daughters, who are also struggling with their mother's loss as they seek to claim their adult identities, lives, and loves.
When Ed meets Bobbi Love—the fifteen-year-old daughter of the drunk driver who killed his wife—the night Andie Love intentionally overdoses, he has no idea how this simple act of closure will reawaken the grief and desire he has kept locked away for the last two years. Ed is torn between helping Bobbi navigate her comatose mother's care and possible recovery or walking away and condemning Andie Love to the death she deserves.

Complicating things, Ed finds himself caught up in the desire for two very different women with no understanding of how to pick between them. The careful scaffolding he has built around his emotions soon collapses and Ed is left to deal with the grief and rage he has kept bottled up for two years.
How can he help his daughters and Bobbi Love find themselves when he is still lost?

This was an excellent read. After a road crash where Andie Love drunk and on drugs Killed Ed's wife...Andie Love lives after trying to kill herself over the guilt. Ed sees no way other other than to take Bobbie into his home. Again his anger for Andie Love and her refusal to just die. He falls in what he thinks is love with two other women. But, he is not ready for love. It becomes so comlicated for him, he gives up on love except his daughter and Andie Love.
