Netgalley and Boldwood Books have provided me with a copy of My Sisters Secret for review:

Trigger warning this book delves into topic of childhood sexual abuse, if this is a trigger for you I do not recommend you read this book...

Due to the subject matter I do not recommend this book to those under the age of sixteen.

Four sisters, each with a secret! Which one is the deadliest?

At the age of nine, something happened to me! I have no memory of my childhood before that fateful day!

In the aftermath, I've been living a nightmare with guilt so deep I'm not sure I can ever disclose it. It's too late now, I fear...

Silence has cost everyone in my family a lot of hurt and pain.

I now have an opportunity to make amends for the wrongs we have suffered.

There was no justice. Not then. Not now. But I can change that.

In the end, it all boils down to the question: how far am I willing to go?

I give My Sisters Secret four out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

Just how far would you be willing to go for family? That is the question we are faced with this book. A chilling physcological thriller that got my brain working over time. It makes you second guess yourself again and again!

This is the first book I've read from this author and I was not disappointed.

A gripping read about four sisters who each have a secret. It starts off as a slow burner as we get to know the sisters. I found this helped keep up the intrigue and tension.

This is a great psychological thriller that I highly recommend.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

Four sisters, four secrets. Who has the deadliest of them all? What a book! I couldn't read it fast enough. The tension and pace were absolute magic! Brilliantly unsettling, with characters so deftly woven that you never quite know who – if anyone – you can trust. Another riveting and powerful psychological thriller from this talented author.

Dark, harrowing and unsettling, My Sister’s Secret is the chilling new thriller by Diane Saxon.

Bobbi, Alexis, Tess and Sarah are four sisters who lead very different lives. Each sibling has a secret, however, one sister’s secret has been a horrific burden which she has carried with her ever since she was nine years old when she had been the victim of a shocking incident that left her scarred for life. Not a day goes by when she doesn’t think of that fateful day and the guilt and shame continue to lie heavily on her shoulders. Keeping her secret has become overwhelming, but when it transpires that the perpetrator who had ruined her life has done it again and nearly destroyed another innocent’s life, silence is no longer an option.

Back then, no justice had been done and the courts are letting this dangerous man get away with ruining other people’s lives time and time again. Bobbi, Alexis, Tess and Sarah will not stand for it. Not this time around. With vengeance on their mind, the four siblings will not stop until justice has been served. But how far are they prepared to go to ensure that the guilty party pays for their reprehensible actions?

Diane Saxon’s My Sister’s Secret is a high-stakes, explosive and unpredictable thriller that is definitely not for the faint-hearted. A shocking page-turner that explores the many forms of evil, obsessive revenge and the lengths people go to for their loved ones, My Sister’s Secret is a disturbing, gritty and wholly engrossing thriller readers will have a hard time putting down.

There is quite a bit of discussion about child abuse in this book but in no way takes the shine of this book. It was very well done and I look forward to reading more of her books.

𝙄 𝙖𝙗𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙙𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝘿𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙚 𝙎𝙖𝙭𝙤𝙣’𝙨 𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙨… this is an author who never fails to deliver. Each book gets better and better.

The characters in this book are just very realistic and interesting. It is a pleasure to go on the journey with them. And what a journey this is.

This is a book that once I’d started, I became unwilling to put down.

This is an authentic read, Saxon has made me feel as though I have known the settings, characters and been completely caught up in this.

This is gripping and tense. I love how unpredictable this has been. This is an absolute must for the TBR.

My Sister's Secret revolves around the lives of four sisters Tess, Sarah, Alexis and Bobbi. Their family had gone through something terrible when they were children and since that event, each sister has struggled in their own way to come out of it and make a life for their own. Though they have gone on different routes towards fulfillment, all of them have the shared tragedy to which they connect to and have an unfailing sense of family loyalty.

The story unfolds in the point of view of one of sisters, we don't know who till almost half way through the story, and hence manages to intrigue the readers letting them play the 'who is it' game. I got only more interested to know who it is once a terrible set of events trigger an unexpected reaction out of a character. That style of story- telling was a novelty for me and that got me hooked into the story to a great extent. I also liked the way the story explored the different characters in their lifestyle and the way they handle the various developments happening around them.

In a way, this is a story which explores trauma and the way it affects every member of a family in its unique manner. However, the story was a bit of a slow burn and not really something which appeals to me. I still liked the climax (didn't see that coming) and loved to meander through these unique, damaged, strong, independent thinking women.

The story will appeal to people who like to read slow-burners which travel to dark places occasionally.

Wow, this is a real page-turner from Diane Saxon! It starts as something of a slow burner as we are introduced to each of the four sisters Alexis, Bobbi, Sarah and Tess individually but, as the narrative unfolds, those early insights into each character helps to ramp up the intrigue and keep the reader guessing as to which sister is telling the story.

The subject matter of historic child abuse makes this a dark read, but it is never graphic or sensationalised in any way. You cannot help but feel the family have been dealt an incredibly rough hand as the details unfold.

A key part of the plot is the relationships between the sisters, their partners and their children. All four are vastly different in personality, but have a strong sense of family loyalty.

There are numerous plot twists throughout to keep the reader guessing and plenty of moments that made me gasp inwardly.

This is psychological thriller writing at its best. A highly recommended read!

With thanks to the author, Rachel at Random Resources and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to participate in the tour.

Four grown sisters learn that a man that committed horrible acts and caused great harm may be released. They convene to discuss the situation and suppressed secrets and feelings will come burbling to the surface, causing one of them to take things a step further. A slow burn but suspenseful read.

My Sister’s Secret # NetGalley
Now where do I start. First I have to say it’s a really really good book. Yes I would recommend…. I has no problem what’s so ever in following the plot, with regards to trying to follow which sister said what. Yes it was slightly infuriating but THATS ONE OF THE KICKS INTO THE ENDING. Has we know which sister was telling which tail we would not have had a book. Personally I think that was a bit of a masterpiece from the author. It’s addictive fast paced well written book. Now my very very slight problem fir me. Was I was not sure if one of the crossover books made a slight mistake on family members. Probably not.
Also I maybe be being too pedantic. But yes overall a fantastic read that I wholeheartedly recommend

Diane Saxon's book My Little Brother just about broke me, so I just knew I had to read her latest book. My Sisters Secret did not disappoint - though my only irk was I found it hard sometimes to tell who was narrating the chapter --- but..... after finishing I realise it was done that way deliberately to throw you off the scent as to what sister had the secret, so kudos nicely done! Four sisters and each one is keeping a secret from the other, one is pregnant, one is a lesbian, another's husband is having an affair and the last... we don't really know exactly what secret they are carrying until all is revealed at the end. And it is not what you are going to expect!

Saxon has a lot of red herrings in this thrilling tale, and I honestly couldn't put this book down. After Gary Philpotts who is a serial offender escapes jail yet again and it really effects the sisters seeing his face splashed all over the local newspapers, I love how the sisters have family meeting to go over everything, they really are a close knit family yet at the same time they all have their secrets. When things start happening to people connected to the sisters past and present you are left wondering just who is behind it all? I thought I knew I was adamant in my mind it was them, but that last chapter,,,, wow blew it out the water for me!

5 stars!!

Wow....the secrets and twists in this one blew me away. Diane Saxon certainly knows how to keep her readers on their toes! I also loved Diane's little cameo in the book too , did make me giggle.
This family certainly has a lot of secrets and clearly out for revenge. I thought it was a fantastic read.
The only thing i struggled with, was adjusting to who's who, but I soon got in the swing of it. Well worth a read, it will leave you speechless!
