Loved this story of a woman facing an unexpected divorce, death of her. Other, and coping with an inheritance. Plus the daughters relationship with a manatee. Very heart warming,

Amy Jones wrote one of my favourite books (We're All in This Together) so I couldn't wait to get my hands on Pebble & Dove, which did not disappoint. The word that kept occurring to me was "delightful", and this novel was delightful in every way. As an author who also writes YA, at times this novel felt like it could easily be a YA crossover novel, the voice of the teen character is strong and rich and compelling. The format, which is structured around the teen's attempt to save the manatee at a closed aquarium attraction, also felt very YA-friendly. That said, Amy Jones is the master of the multi-voiced story, and her adult characters feel just as rich and well-developed and real as the teen. I'll be giving this one out as gifts, I feel like it's a book for such a broad range of readers, all of whom will read it and say, "That was delightful!" Long live the manatee!
