Practice Makes Perfect by Sarah Adams was such a fun and charming book. It had all the good vibes I was looking for. Flower shop, big strong bodyguard with tattoos, and small town romance. I loved Annie and Will together so much, but the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because I felt like Sarah dragged out Annie and Will admitting their feelings for each other and in turn them getting together. Overall I really enjoyed Practice Makes Perfect!

I was a bit wushu waddy about reading this next installment of the when in time series. I read the first book and it was cute, but not a fav or a book that made all the feels happen. I was pleasantly surprised with Practice Makes Perfect. Total rom com, boring good girl meets the tattooed bad boy. Love the relatable imperfections of the characters and their progression. I look forward to reading more by Sarah Adams.

Loved this book! Its my first book by this author. Highly recommend it for those who love closed door romances and fake dating.

I thought I loved When in Rome, but then I read this one and realized I loved this one even more! Practice Makes Perfect had me giggling and kicking my legs. I absolutely loved both characters, the tropes, and the small town vibe still. Everything was PERFECT.

Will and Annie are an unlikely pair, and that is what makes their relationship so precious! All of the nicknames she gives him are so cute!! I found myself smiling at how many she came up with. And Will …. Whew!!! He’s definitely going on the book boyfriend list!!

This novel can be read out of order or separately from When in Rome. But, I think the reader will enjoy this one even more if When in Rome is read first.

This was so cute. I loved the special appearances from when in Rome. This is one of my favorites Sarah adams has written. I thought the story had great pacing and detail. The characters stood alone and together

I LOVED this book! I loved the fact that Will helps Annie get out of her shell and become more comfortable with herself. Although this was a closed door romance book, it still had some swoonworthy moments. Sarah Adams is an automatic purchase for me and I recommend this book to anyone who wants an easy read.

Book two in the When in Rome series features Annie Walker, the sister of Noah from the first book and Will Griffin, Noah’s fiancé Amelia’s bodyguard. Will is carrying heavy baggage due to dysfunctional childhood, believing he’s incapable of a loving, lasting relationship because he thinks he’ll be like his parents, despite the fact that he was always protective of his younger brother. Annie is a happy, upbeat, but supposedly boring florist who has always hidden her own wants, insecurities, and grief over the loss of her parents when she was very young, somehow convincing herself that she wasn’t entitled to grieve since she barely remembered them and feeling that she had to be an agreeable, sunshiney doormat for her siblings so that she wouldn’t add to their grief.

This is just a really silly book that breaks no new ground with main characters who lack depth, making it hard to invest in them. There is small town gossip and interference at its worst, so over-the-top that Annie’s fellow merchants sign a petition objecting to any relationship between her and the tattooed bodyguard with a bad boy image. Ultimately, this is a boring, forgettable, dating coach/virgin romance with fade-to-black sex scenes.

This is the second book about the Walker siblings from Rome, KY, and I liked it so much more than the first one. This was cute - the premise was a little dumb, but Annie and Will were swoony. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Sarah Adams is an auto buy author for me, now! I thought this was so sweet and engaging. I laughed a lot and it was also touching. I thought the character growth was relatable. Really, really liked it!

A sweet, small-town romance featuring the local, anxious flower shop owner and a scowling bodyguard from out of town. She is inexperienced and unsure; he is willing to teach her some confidence.

Will and Annie engage in an adorable slow-burn fake dating scenario. The miscommunication trope is present and drags out the story a bit, but above all this is your classic light-hearted rom-com with plenty of bubbly banter and adorable antics.

A little less miscommunication and a little more spice would have really punched this story up, in my opinion.

I enjoyed this way more than I thought!! I loved the characters, setting, and aesthetic. Will and Annie had lots of growth individually and collectively. Lots of good tropes-small town romance, boy falls for the girl first, fake dating. All around a fun read for summer.

May all the Gods available bless the Author Sarah Adams for writing such masterpiece. And this isn't the first rodeo. The one word I would use to describe this book is: PERFECT. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!! Got hooked in from the first page and the CHARACTERS!! I can't!! Anna-banana and polar opposite Wilbur are such a cute match! The sisterhood shenanigans and the secrets that come out at the very end, the small town onlookers that document every little thing under their radar, and the cameo of When in Rome vibes...like, are you trying to make me die?? Anyways, always a pleasure to read and review a book like this! Thank you and looking forward to future collaborations!

Sarah Adam’s does it again! You don’t need to read When In Rome first you can read it as a stand alone. The chemistry between Annie and Will is 🔥 and made me devour the book. If you love small town, fake dating troupes with not a whole lot of spice this book is for you.

Annie Walker runs a flower shop in the small town of Rome, Kentucky. She dreams of finding the perfect guy and breaking free of the sweet good girl persona that seems to plague her everywhere she goes. After reeling from a disastrous first date, she begins to feel hopeless when she is suddenly shocked by the solution to her problem: Will Griffin. Will I her sister-in-law to be Amelia’s body guard, one with a notorious bad boy heartbreaker reputation. Hesitant at first but ultimately Will agrees to be Annie’s teacher in dating and give her tips in helping her find the perfect guy. As the two spend more time together, their attraction and feelings towards one another grows into something neither one can continue on ignoring blurring the lines indefinitely and opening them up to romance made for the books.



This was such a cute and sweet romance! I really enjoyed how Annie and Will both have reputations that are polar opposite yet they complement each other so well. It was fun to read along as they grow and show the world who they really are taking huge steps forward and supporting one another. Will struggles with the idea of a relationship and fear of being left given his parents tumultuous relationship which ended in divorce. While Annie struggles to break free of the sweet innocent little sister stereotype she’s felt trapped in. They both work on their own struggles individually but also together as their relationship develops. This book had it all for me, it was very romantic and also had some hilarious moments and I was a huge fan of the character development in this one. Miscommunication was definitely a key factor to some conflicts but overall I really enjoyed this sweet romance! Thank you to NetGalley for an eARC of this novel In exchange for my honest review. Sarah Adams has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Her books are definitely an auto-buy for me. I loved When in Rome. I've listened to the audiobook for it almost a dozen times so I wasn't sure how she was going to top that but she did it. She absolutely did it. I adore Practice Makes Perfect. Annie is the sweetest FMC. It's impossible not to fall in love with her. Will is definitely top-notch book boyfriend material. Sarah really knows how to write a hero. I loved how he card for Annie and encouraged her to be true to herself. She felt seen and a little part of me did too. (swoon) I love how his character evolved and he ended up working through the things holding him back and found happiness. I enjoyed going back to Rome, KY, and can't wait for the next book in this series.

Oh, where to begin with this lovable little gem! First of all, if you're looking for a pick-me-up, feel good, give-you-all-the-warm and fuzzies - pick up a Sarah Adams book. The small town in which this book takes place is very much like the one in Gilmore Girls, and I adore this setting. Annie and Will (Wilmer, Wilber, Willicent, Willinsky) balance each other perfectly. The banter was hilarious. There were so many little unexpected moments I loved. Highly recommended for all fans of the romance genre!

Practice Makes Perfect is the second of the When In Rome Books. While it can be read as a standalone, I think reading the first book definitely provides some context for the characters.

This was a cute book. After falling in love with When in Rome, I was excited to continue the story with Noah’s sister, Annie.

Annie is sick and tired of being treated as the sweet and pure member of her family, so when Amelia’s bodyguard Will comes back into town, Annie decides to strike up a deal with him to fake date her so she can learn to snag her forever fella. If only it was that simple!

I definitely enjoyed seeing both their personalities shine from their own POVs and seeing the pining that was happening behind the scenes. Just like When in Rome, this book definitely had angst which made up for the lack of spice I usually like to see in my romance books. I also had fun seeing the siblings interact and made me more excited for future books to come.

Overall, I had a good time reading this. It was a bit slower for me at times, and I took a couple breaks, but it’s great for someone looking for a fun, light read.
