An interesting story of a girl who is torn between two worlds; one with her mom and the other on the border with her dad. When she goes to visit her dad and gets in the middle of a power struggle with a drug lord she must learn to rely on herself and fight for herself. An interesting story.

Border Rats by Patricia Cleary is a suspenseful adventure that mixes love and friendship with the reality of crime on the streets of California and Mexico. The story could've been pulled out of the news headlines and would make a great movie. Believable and mysterious, I was drawn in and felt connected to the characters so much so that I couldn't put the book down. Great Read.
