Good book!
Personally absolutely loved how well the descriptions were and how good the dialogue was. Would definitely recommend this one!

I’m a fan of Walsh’s books, but I found this one to be more miss than hit.

I loved both MCs, they were both intelligent, interesting women working in ways that made them feel like they were contributing something. I enjoyed the interactions between the characters and the way they worked together. The side characters also added some levity (I especially enjoyed Isa and her ‘warnings’ about the café products and how they would affect cats).

I usually love stories with pets in them, and I did enjoy some of the feline characters, BUT, the idea of having that many cats in a house seemed a bit squicky to me, and I especially did not love the running joke of the cat that was always in the kitchen. I would not frequent a café that had 20 odd cats running around where I was trying to eat, and I would question the hygiene of such a place, so that kept taking me out of the story.

I also wouldn’t call this a ‘romance’, it's the very definition of 'slow burn' as there wasn’t that much romantic interaction in the book, the leads didn’t even kiss or really discuss possibly dating until the 75% mark, and they weren’t even actually dating or in a relationship when they ‘broke up’. The resolution to their ‘break up’ was also too quick and I just didn’t buy the HEA at the end.

This is a quick read, and if you like cats, you’ll probably enjoy this more than I did, but it’s not my favourite Walsh book. 3 stars.

I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

The book started out by introducing us to cat cafe owner Bonnie, Taryn the wedding planner and some of the various cats and side characters. I liked the first half of the book, but it really slowed down in the middle for me. I thought the two leads had chemistry, but I didn’t like the ending.

I liked the descriptions of the cafe, cats and food. I could vividly picture Sasha and Pepper and see the foods and decor of the cafe. I also like the part about the cat adoption event for the most part. I just didn’t like how the whole have a misunderstanding and get back together trope was done here.

DNF/DNR before it was archived. It's not my normal genre, sorry I did not see the genre properly and missed my chance to read and review. I will not be able to review this book.

I just finished reading Love and Lattes, and it is one of those sweet romances that follows all the rules and leaves the reader feeling lovey dovey and satisfied. Even the likes of me. Full disclosure, I’m not a cat person, so the idea of being in a café full of cats really grosses me out. This means I didn’t get drawn into the story because of the cute little kittens or the cleverly named ninja cats. I just really liked the MCs.

Bonnie is happy, barely getting by running her cat café and finding forever homes for her rescue cats. Money isn’t high on her agenda, as long as she can shelter and feed her fury friends. Enter Taryn, who wants to host a wedding in Bonnie’s Cat Café and an almost instant attraction between both women. Bonnie says no, but Taryn has just begun her woo-ing. It isn’t long before they are planning two events together, spending hours getting to know each other and falling head over heels in love. Bonnie and Taryn both have their baggage and pasts that are playing heavily on their day-to-day decisions, but together, they find the courage to break free of their ingrained self-doubts.

Karis Walsh has written some really snappy dialogue full of humour and sarcasm. Her characters bounce terrifically off each other, and there is such an ease as the relationship is being built that the slow incline towards their happily ever after is delicious. Cats, coffee, and love. It’s all some people need, and even for those non cat lovers like me, it still works brilliantly.

A quick, easy and cute sapphic read that I couldn't put down, and, that I didn't want to put down. I read it in one sitting

Lesbians! And cats! Do I need to say anything else? Honestly it’s like this book was written especially for me.
‘Love and Lattes’ tells the story of Bonnie, a reclusive cat café owner, whose life is turned on its head when wedding planner Taryn arrives, asking to host a wedding at the café. First of all, I just want to say what an incredible set up for a story.
From the first couple of chapters, I was fully engrossed in the world of the characters. Both protagonists’ emotions and fears seemed real and understandable, although I felt that their emotional vulnerability with each other came a little quickly and it would have been nice to see it grow more slowly. I enjoyed Taryn’s story of opening herself up to welcome new people (and cats) into her life. The comedic moments helped to balance out the more serious aspects of the book and were very well done, making this a perfect romcom.

‘Love and Lattes’ is a story about taking emotional risks to have a chance at happiness. The central theme is one of found family: made up of both people and cats. It is a funny and heartwarming read - and all taking place in a cat café!

3.5/5

thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an eARC of this book!

love and lattes was a really sweet sapphic romance centering Taryn and Bonnie, two people who found each other at the right time. I really adored the dynamic developed between the two, and I thought Taryn’s growth was really fun to watch! I loved her changing from anti-cat to maybe I’ll have two cats to wanting Bonnie and the entire litter she comes with.

the reason I docked 2.5 stars off this book was because it took me to close to halfway into the book to really feel attached to the story and the journey between Taryn and Bonnie, and I was really close to DNF-ing. I would’ve loved to see more banter between the two in the beginning alongside the character/plot development, I think it would’ve really made myself and other readers feel more engrossed with they story from the get-go.

overall, such a fun, quick sapphic cat-filled read!!! would recommend to anyone looking for a sweet, mundane wlw romance to make them smile :)

This was a cute, easy to read romance. The cats drew me in and the entertaining characters kept me. I liked the story but there was very little angst or drama, which would have made it better and more engaging.

Despite this book already being published, I was able to get a copy through Netgalley... and without further ado, onto the review.

So I was originally drawn to this book because of the cover and title. I love coffee and adore cats, so this looked like the perfect book. I'm not going to lie, this book was a bit rough for me to get through, around page 100. The MCs just didn't really seem to have a connection at all but then kissed then broke up(? despite not dating) then got back together like very quickly. I think the premise of the book is fantastic but wish the two MCs felt more in love/relationshippy rather than two people who were doing a job together.

A (very) slow burn romance between the owner of a cat cafe and an original wedding planner who meet when the planner wants to use the cafe as the place for a wedding.
I love animals so this one was right up my alley in theory and even though I enjoyed the book it didn't have the wow-factor and I didn't get real enthousiastic. It was good, the romance was cute, if a bit slow but also too insta-lovey.. so well. Bottom line is there's nothing really wrong with this book, but it was also not really memorable.

***Thank you Netgalley and Bold Stroke Books for the chance to read and review this book***

I really liked this book. Cat cafe and romance--yes please! I would say the conflict was a little drawn out and unnecessary. the dialogue seemed a lit like how a alien thinks people talk. Despite that, the story did hook me in and It went by pretty quickly.

3 stars. Bonnie owns a cat cafe that is successful enough on its own. Wedding planner Taryn Ritter, has a couple who wants to have their wedding in Bonnie's cat cafe. When Taryn insists on having it there and gets Bonnie to agree with an offer she cannot refuse. Taryn and Bonnie have sparks fly from when they first start talking to each other.

This one was okay, it was not my favorite but it was not the worst book I have read. I thought their chemistry was not bad but I feel like this book was forgettable., I am writing this review a couple weeks after reading it and I cannot remember as many details as I would like. I thought their romance got dragged out too much and I felt like everything should have happened sooner. They both were afraid to be with each other and it was a little frustrating every time they did not but almost got together. I would not recommend this one.

Not my usual read so I wasn’t really feeling this one but I really do appreciate netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this advanced copy

This story was about a cat cafe with Bonnie the owner and Taryn a wedding planner. Bonnie and Taryn are both very reluctant to have an emotional relationship due to their upbringings by each of their own parents.

This was an Insta love story. Way too short for me with very few emotions or feelings mentioned.

The cats and the food in the cafe were the best part. And as business concept I’d give that 5 stars and be ready to loan out the money for the start up.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest rating and review.

They say you can’t judge a book by its cover, but in this case you absolutely can. This book is CUTE!! There’s not a lot of depth, but it’s filled with the best kinds of fluff (cats and romance). The “big conflict” in the middle was a bit confusing and ridiculous, but I still enjoyed it. Ninja Cat was the real star of the show for me.

This was a nice, cosy slow burn romance. I liked both main characters, enjoyed the cat cafe and loved Taryn’s unusual job. I didn’t love how long it took the characters to get involved with each other - it felt a bit too slow. I did love Daisy and Ben’s farm and the way Taryn found things to do that were Bonnie but weren’t - very true to life!
All in all I enjoyed this book but didn’t devour it

I got an ARC of this book.

To start this off, I am pretty sure my partner is very happy I am done reading this one. The number of times, I rolled over and woke them up to tell them ANOTHER cute thing that happened probably had them second guessing living together. I also sent them recaps while they were at work. I kept saying they should read the book, but at this point they pretty much have.

The book was just so damn cute. It was so wholesome and fluffy. It was exactly what I needed. The word play was fantastic. There was some complexity to the characters, but not so much that they felt broken beyond repair. Instead it was real enough to be fun, but not real enough to require worry. It was a lesbian Hallmark movie.

It is a slow burn. I really do have to warn you. There wasn’t a single kiss until 74% of the book. Normally that would drive me up the wall, but there was just so much wholesome and cute that I was surprised it was that late in the book when it happened. Outside of squealing (yes, I did this at work. My new coworker has laughed at me. Just wait until she catches me crying over a book!) and telling my partner everything, I didn’t want to stop reading the book. It was so incredibly good. It is the sort of book I have been craving.

This was just a wonderfully sweet book. I do wish the cover was Ninja cat glaring from a cat tree at two women at a bistro table though. It would feel more true to the book. The cover works, but it doesn’t stand out as being about this book in particular. That is my only complaint. I had to reach for that. This was a no thought 5 star rating for me. I need more.
