This is such a fun, adventurous yet challenging story! I loved to see the BIPOC representation and the important themes of self-acceptance, being brave, and realizing one's own strength to protect those you love. A great sequel from this author! I have donated my own physical copy to my local library to ensure that middlegrade readers have this to read.
I loved this book. The main character really stepped up. Not on to save herself and her new friends but her parents. Her mom went missing. Father might be still alive. All while her magic might be killing her.
Of course she saves the day. I am obsessed with the magic being tied to her hair. So great. I’ve purchased every book for my students
I thought this was a very good installment into this series. I liked all the characters and think that young readers will enjoy it.
I loved this series! The book is very beautifully written and extremely relatable. The lessons were top tier.
I have been very sick lately, and all I have been in the mood for is to read super entertaining stories that takes my mind of things for a little bit and this story just did that wonderfully.
This book was just the perfect distraction for me because it allowed me to get stuck into the world of the book for a few hours and I very much appreciated that.
This was just the kind of entertainement that I was looking for and it really worked for me.
Another great entry in the Onyeka series, it had a great idea of powers. This book had everything that I enjoyed from the first book, the characters were well done and felt like they belonged in this world. I enjoyed the way Tolá Okogwu created this and left me wanting more.
