Vacation Wars came about for Tessa and her merry band of friends, Clea and Lois, along with her twin sister, Roxane had a contract with rules and had the list notarized when they were teenagers. One of the rules was that if one of them were still single at the age of thirty they would forfeit, and their friends would find someone for the one that was single. Well Tessa’s number came up since she was the only one still single. This group of friends went to Greece together to reconnect.

I felt sorry for Tessa because you could say the girls her friends and sister turned into mean girls. Well maybe they weren’t that bad.

Greece is where Tessa and her family would visit during the summer months while she was growing up. Tessa ended up talking to Myles, they had childhood crushes on each other.

I enjoyed reading this book. I found myself chuckling and there were LOL moments for sure.

I loved Tessa’s character. She was so awkwardly cute and had a runaway mouth. It took a bit to like her friend’s and sister until you found out what was really going on in the undercurrent. I loved Myles and his best friend Toby. I am hoping that Toby will get a book, maybe with Tessa’s sister. Who knows! Only this author knows what will happen. In the meantime, I am going to give this book 4.5 Stars and as always, I look forward to more of Meghan Quinn’s books. She writes with so much humor. I know I will get a good laugh out of her books!

This felt very different to Meghans other books and took me a while to settle into. I loved the romance between Myles and Tessa they were so adorable. They have both watched each other holiday after holiday and never made a move then this holiday was the one to change them all. Tessa was a great character. She was awkward and rambles when shes not comfortable with someone but she aoon relaxed with Myles and it was easy to see the connection these 2 had. The story with Myles family and the business really choked me. I really felt for his dad. I wasn't a huge fan of the twin sister perfume contract part but it didn't deter me from enjoying the rest.

𝚁𝙴𝙰𝙳 𝚃𝙷𝙸𝚂 𝙸𝙵 𝚈𝙾𝚄 𝙻𝙸𝙺𝙴/𝙻𝙾𝚅𝙴/𝚆𝙰𝙽𝚃:
◾️ A true rom-com that will make you laugh
◾️ Unrequited love
◾️ Childhood crush/friends
◾️ Sibling rivalry
◾️ Britney Spears perfume nostalgia

𝙱𝙻𝚄𝚁𝙱 𝙾𝙽𝙴-𝙻𝙸𝙽𝙴𝚁: A fun, sexy story about the family dynamics that can stand in the way of rekindling a romance.

𝙼𝚈 𝚃𝙷𝙾𝚄𝙶𝙷𝚃𝚂: This book was so funny and of course, the spice was on point! The sibling rivalry doesn't get more real than with twins, and add in the high school friends and their pact, and it makes for a great light read!

Greece is one of my favorite vacation spots, so any book that has it as the setting always gets me, and this one is no exception. The setting, and the MCs (Tessa & Myles), were just so good!

Just know that you will be laughing throughout the book, and I highly recommend this one for the beach/pool.

Tessa and her family have been visiting Santorini for as long as she can remember. It is there she finds her first crush. So when she vacations with her sister and friends before he sisters’ wedding, she is surprised to see him, aka “The Bulge” as he was named years ago by her sister. While they have never talked before this trip, she enlists his (real name Myles) help in warding off her vacation companions as they seek to find her a love interest. Myles and Tessa find devious ways in this war of tug and pull between hiding how they really feel from her sister and friends.

A little long, but the book held my attention and made want to find out how it ended. All in all, I loved the characters and was rooting for Tessa and Myles the whole time.

Laugh out loud funny with lots of yearning and sibling rivalry. Tessa is sure to become a fan favorite character. She’s quirky and hilarious! And Myles is just dreamy!! I love every single MQ book I’ve ever read and this one is no exception. Phenomenal story telling and the descriptions of the town they’re vacationing in makes me want to visit!

Not your typical romance!

I loved the witty banter and friendship between Tessa and Myles as they scheme together against Roxanne (whom I wanted to throw rotten eggs at most of the time!)

Myles was the constant scene stealer throughout the book. His dedication to resolving family drama, and saving the resort won me over and kept me glued til the end.

This story was definitely more on the emotional side than a typical Meghan Quinn book, but watching their tale unfold over time was SO worth the ride!

2.5/5

When requesting this read I was so excited based on the blurb. I mean, I love a fun prank war, especially with a dash of romance. And that’s what I got…minus the fun.

I really wanted to love this one, it sounded so carefree and like it was going to be a light new adult read. Unfortunately, I got new adult vibes with 30+ year old characters acting like vindictive children. The prank wars were more like “let me treat you like trash” wars and the immaturity of most of the characters really killed any possibility of liking this for me.

Things I disliked:
⛱️ lack of communication (not miscommunication, they just don’t communicate at all)
⛱️ unnecessarily long
⛱️ ages don’t fit the plot
⛱️ VERY immature characters
⛱️ keeping the MMC a secret from everyone (seemed pointless)

Things I liked:
⛱️ the budding romance
⛱️ awkward characters
⛱️ lifelong secret crush

Came for the hot greek guy, stayed for the train wreck that was the friend group.

Perfect if you love Bride Wars.

Let me start off by saying I love this author. I hate giving this low of a rating. But the family/best friend stuff was way too much for me. But just because it wasn't one of my favs doesn't mean it won't be one of yours! That being said, we get the story of Myles and Tessa. This was a slow burn but I liked how they have crushed on each other for years. I really liked Myles especially when communicating feelings. I'm glad when Tessa finally stood up for herself but honestly it was too late for me. I love that they first met in Greece a place I always wanted to go. I'm glad things got resolved in the end. Overall it was a good book by a great author, just not my fav. Looking forward to this authors next book.

Vacation Wars by Meghan Quinn is almost a holiday romance, the difference is that the MC's (The heroine Tessa and the Hero Myles) have known each other for most of their childhood. Myles' family run a resort that Tessa's family vacation to every year and now her sister is getting married at the resort too!

The premise of the book is about Tessa not flying sola at the wedding. So of course her sister and her 2 best friends plan to hook Tessa up... Tessa however has other ideas and she ends up bumping into Myles. With another embarrassingly awkward meet cute with Myles in the bag, the wheels are now in motion to the couple romantic hook up and HEA.

Now there were things to love about this story; but as a whole it missed the mark somewhat for me. Myles and Tessa I loved. The banter and playfulness they share is endearing, and I loved reading how their romance blossoms. I also like the relationship Miles has with his Baba (his Father) as the book progresses the little sub plot for this was a really cute storyline.

Outside of these things I wasn't a fan of any of the other characters really. I found Roxanne, Tessa's twin sister to be quite jarring and somewhat unlikeable at times. The way the pact is forced upon Tessa and how dismissive her sister and her friends are towards Tessa's fondness of Myles came across as a little mean at times too. Meghan always seems to nail the secondary characters and the friendship groups. It is hands down one of the qualities I love about an MQ book; but these elements were lacking in Vacation Wars.

An easy read overall, and I am curious to listen the audio production to see if this gives a new perspective on the novel. It just lacked that connective pull and satisfying feeling you get from devouring an Meghan Quinn book.

Meghan Quinn has done it again. This book was so good. The erotic scenes were so intense and the scene with the police man was so funny. I was laughing out loud. Her story is so wonderfully written.

First let me say that I LOVED Myles and Tessa together! It was just adorable that they had each crushed on the other from afar for so many years. I so related to Tessa- I'm a spreadsheet/numbers girl and I'll admit a bit quirky and awkward myself, especially when it came to crushes. But I will also say I DID not like Tessa's twin and the other two girls in their friend group. But maybe we aren't supposed to? I adored the setting (now I totally want to vacation in Greece!) and the romance between Myles and Tessa was swoon-worthy and I never tire of author Meghan Quinn's hilarious situation and banter.

I enjoyed this, but not as much as Meghan Quinn’s usual offerings, all her usual quirky female characters were present, her humour but for me the focus on all the family stuff was a bit heavier than normal anf it took a bit of my enjoyment away for the romance , a nice read but not one of my favourites

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I had a fun time reading this second chance rom-com. Tessa and Myles had great chemistry and they were meant to be together. However, the family and friends drama were overshadowing the romance. The characters were in their thirties but they acted like they were teenagers. Overall, it was an ok read.

Vacation Wars was a fun book that made me smile too much through out the story. Not a bad thing! There are times you just need a good book with light humor. It puts you in that "feel good" space. Vacation Wars is a story that is written to get you there!

Myles and Tessa are a duo that you wouldn't think could work, but they just do! Their circumstances was unconventional, but that is where the best love stories are written! The romance and chemistry was there. You know these two were it for each other. But getting them there is where the fun begins!

Vacation Wars is a hit from Meghan Quinn! She is a favorite author of mine for a reason and with every book, I am never disappointed.

I love Meghan Quinn books but this one just missed the mark for me. I struggled to pick it up. The setting was outstanding and the MCs were tolerable but some of the side characters were unbearable and the third act break up was predictable as was the ending. 3.5 stars

Another great romantic comedy by Meghan Quinn. I loved that there were moments of humor and heart. It was so easy to fall in love with Tessa & Myles and their journey.

I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Meghan Quinn never disappoints !!!! This author write her books in exactly THAT way like I want to read all my romantic stories. For sure, she's genious, made me smile and made me cry... plus she knows how to make me blush !!!!

Vacation Wars is a book definetly from "won't put it down" kind. Since first pages story sucked me in compeletely, I've enjoyed every moment that I spent with this author and her characters.

Tessa and Myles together are great company. They both are so different like they could only be... however  I like very much when my bookish chacters don't match perfect for each other! Their romance is a slow burn romance, but author totally SLAYED it. I enjoyed every single second. Thru the pages I could feel how their relationship grown in someting more. The biggest asset of this book ? Like always humor mixed with emotions, but without too much drama, with delicious banter .

Must read!

This is the cute romance book of the summer! I absolutely loved this book. I felt that I was there with Tessa, Myles, Roxanne, Lois, Clea and Toby! I kept imagining the beauty of Greece, being on a resort.. seeing all of this unfold. This story just captured my heart. It was different than the other Meghan Quinn books I've read but I truly enjoyed this. I need someone to buy the rights and create a movie asap because this is the chick flick movie that all the girls will love.

A love story of decades long pining, a beautiful Greece oceanside resort, and a war of wills

Tessa is back in Santorini at the resort she has been visiting annually with her family for decades for her twin sister's upcoming wedding. She is there with her sister and their 2 best friends to relax and connect before the wedding guest arrive and the festivities begin. Her sister and her friends have a plan to invoke a friendship contract they made as teenagers and find her love in Greece. It becomes a war of pranks on both side and she secretly teams up with her longtime resort crush Myles to keep up with her friends. They are both dealing with a lot family and personal wise but start to really connect romantically. But nothing is ever easy when family is involved and they may be the reason Tessa and Myles can't find a way to work out.

This was such a fun read. Although there was a lot of angst and roadblocks, the romantic build up was so well written. It had the perfect amount of spice and was so well done as well. The dual perspective really filled out the details of the story. The main characters felt so dynamic, even if the side characters were a bit flat and one sided.
