I really enjoyed reading this book. I have read everything that Meghan Quinn has published and was thrilled to get an advanced copy. The characters were well written and the chemistry was definitely there. The part of this book that dropped it from 5 star to 4 star was the sisters. I really didn’t like that the entire vacation Roxane forced Tessa to basically be on her own while the other 3 all hung out. I get that it was intended to “put her out there” to meet someone, but it seemed too forced and almost bullyish. Tessa was there for her sister and ended up isolated from her friends. In the end, I am glad there was an HEA for all!

Oh I loved this book so much! I’m not going to lie, I was more than a little worried the first couple of chapters that Tessa was going to be super annoying the whole book but never fear, she quickly became much less embarrassing while still keeping a bit of her awkward social antics. I ended up really relating to parts of Tessa’s story (we both are awfully awkward around guys we find attractive 😂😅) Myles is a really sweet cinnamon roll of a male MC and I love it.

There is a lot going on between both of them and their families and while the name may be vacation wars (and don’t worry there are pranks and antics so funny I laughed until I couldn’t breathe multiple times) there is also a lot of heart to the story.

Definitely one of my favorites of Meghan’s books!

Ugh Meghan Quinn does it again. I love Meghans books but the setting of this one put it over the edge for me. Quite honestly, it didn't have as much steam as her self-published, but I still enjoyed Tessa's charm and everything about The Bulge.

I loved reading all about the scenery in Greece 🇬🇷, I could feel the sun and warmth! Tessa and Myles are so cute, I love when childhood crushes reunite. The friendship of the four women is realistic and relatable. I enjoyed this story and ending. I would recommend this as a easy read for on the beach or an escape from winter.

I was enjoying this book until I got to the second half of it. It started off light-hearted, fun, and cute, and I liked the progression of Myles and Tessa's relationship. However, as their relationship gets more and more serious, I started to get so frustrated with Tessa and her twin sister/friends. Despite being a group of thirty year olds (one married, one engaged, and one with kids), they were so immature for the entire book and they were honestly terrible friends to each other. Roxane, Tessa's twin sister, completely disregards Tessa's feelings till the end and her friends are complete bystanders and don't even seem surprised at all the verbal attacks exchanged between the sisters. None of them seem to realize how happy Tessa is with Myles and they have no faith or concern for her relationship. I couldn't see why they were friends at all or why they put up with each other. Based on the things they say, it seems like they're already so exasperated with each other and don't really have anything nice to say about each other (they actually seemed to have a lot of grudges...). Even when they were trying to "help" with Tessa's love life, it didn't seem like they had her best interest in mind. They treated each other like a joke. All of them were bitter, selfish, and petty, and waiting for Tessa's heartbreak (Roxane in particular). They're also always fighting and I was getting so tired of it. It took me so much longer than I expected to finish this book.
Aside from the friend group, Tessa frustrated me so much because of how she treated Myles. She prioritizes everyone except him, despite how communicative and genuine he is. It didn't seem like the same level of attraction and it was like she was ready to give up on him at any point. There was no effort on her part. Also, her communication (with everyone) is terrible. On the other hand, Myles was ready to do anything to be with her and I think he's the only reason why I'm rounding this book up to 2.5 stars. I love MQ books, but I just could not get into this one. It was missing her signature humor that I love and the only character I really liked was Myles.

I loved the premise of this book, I thought the complicated families on both sides was super clever.

I am such a sucker for Meghan’s banter and this did not disappoint. Loved the childhood crush rekindled in adulthood.

Meghan Quinn is an instant read author for me! While Vacation Wars wasn’t necessarily my jam - I know many people will love it! Think Sisterhood if the traveling pants but with older characters and lots of family/friend drama.
I had a hard time getting into this story. The supporting character were very unlikable to me and it kept pulling me out of the story.
I did love the location and the signature humor that Meghan Quinn brings to all of her books.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Freaking hilarious! Tessa is a hot mess in the very best way and I couldn’t have loved her more. Myles is just perfect for Tessa. These 2 will leave you with the biggest smile on your face! I highly recommend this one….just be prepared for lots of laugh out loud moments!

This was definitely the type of book I’ve come to expect from Meghan Quinn. Had some laugh out loud moments and steam. I enjoyed the relationship between Tessa and Myles. Myles was so sweet. Tessa was a little too awkward at times in my opinion. But OMG, I could not stand Roxane, Clea and Lois. Obnoxious to the extreme.

3.75 ⭐️

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

Thank you Netgalley for this galley. This has not affected my opinion whatsoever.

This is not my first Meghan Quinn book (and it will absolutely not be my last). I love her writing and it got me again in her newest book. It is impossible to be not swept up by her fun and romantic style and I had a hard time to put it down.

However, from the start I had some issues with the way her sister and her best friends are portraited. Until almost the end I kind of hated the three of them and everything about their ‘war’ felt too much. Yes, the story became juicier, but I also felt so much pity for Tessa. She absolutely doesn’t deserve everything they put on her and it made me kind of hate them?

Luckily, the way Myles looks after them and everything they are doing together to win ‘the war’ is so cute and adorable. And the chemistry between them? Amazing! I am more a ‘haters to lovers’ kind of girl, but these careful friends to lovers? It was so cute! They felt as soulmates and the way everything was put on paper by the author was so good!

Oh, and can I say that I would like to go to Santorini, like RIGHT NOW? The vibe, the atmosphere, everything felt right and it felt like I was there. It will be the perfect summer read, even if you are not going any further than your own backyard!

I would absolutely recommend! 4,5 stars!

I’ve read quite a few of Ms. Quinn’s books and I’ve enjoyed them all, but it’s the ones with multiple characters and/or multiple couples that really shine as far as I’m concerned. She has a way of writing characters that are totally relatable. Poor Tessa was so relatable to me! I so enjoyed getting to know her and all her quirks and peculiarities and Myles was her perfect companion in every way. The beautiful description of Santorini was icing on the cake – I imagined being there with these characters because I’ll never make it there, but I loved experiencing it vicariously through them. This storyline is multi-faceted and thought-provoking and everything I’ve come to enjoy and expect from Ms. Quinn’s writing. I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a “vacation” read with a whole lot of family dynamics along with a fun, flirty romance. I'm grateful to have been given an opportunity to read and review an early copy of this book through NetGalley.

Tessa Doukas, her twin sister Roxane and their 2 best friends, Lois and Clea, are back in Santorini at where Tessa’s family has been vacationing every summer. The girls have planned a week long trip before Roxane ties the knot and they’re looking forward to a week full of girl time. And Tessa is also hoping to get a glimpse of the boy she’s been crushing on since she was a young girl, Myles.

Myles family owns the resort in Santorini where the Doukas’ vacation every summer. And every summer he hopes to see the girl he’s had a crush on since he was a kid, Tessa.

Tessa’s idea of a perfect girl’s get-away comes to halt when her sister and friends decide it’s time for her to find a love interest. How could she have forgotten they made a pact when they were 18 that she had to find her soulmate when she turned 30?

Little does she know, to help her avoid her sister’s pranks and the awful suitors she sends her way, she will find the perfect ally in Miles. And maybe a little more.

I am a HUGE Meghan Quinn fan and will read anything she writes. This book did not disappoint and truly had mw laughing from the very beginning. I enjoyed all of the characters, even though I really wanted to punch Roxane sometimes, and loved the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants vibe I got from the girls.
The idea of Tessa and Myles crushing in each other from afar since childhood was adorable and obviously had me rooting for them to get together the entire book. The vivid description of Santorini was absolutely amazing, I could truly picture it in my mind and want to plan my next vacation there.
Truly enjoyed this story of sisterhood, friendship, family and love. Looking forward to Meghan’s next book!

Super fun and super fast romantic read. I’ve read Megan Quinn’s works in the past and absolutely loved them. This was nothing short of fun and filled with so much tension. I really enjoyed this and cannot wait for for Megan Quinn books in the future!

I absolutely LOVED this book. Everything I expected from a MQ novel and more. I loved the story and fell in love with the main characters from the first page. There is something about MQ's writing style that is so enticing, addictive and exciting. While there is always the classic MQ stamp on the book, it's never "the same" - the characters all have such distinct personalities that set them all apart which can sometimes be the case with authors who write similar characters. I am a huge fan of Meghan Quinn and can't wait to read her next book!

Vacation Wars is a hard one for me to give stars to because I felt like this was a tale of two halves. The first half of this book made me want to pull my hair out. I'll be honest, I HATED the female lead, Tessa at the first part of this story. She is bumbling and stammers and is not a believable character. I was close to DNFing but then she gets closer to her long time crush, Myles. Once she get comfortable with him she starts to act like a normal human being and starts talking and bantering with him like we are used to seeing in Meghan Quinn books.

The second half of the book was engaging and interesting and I started to really enjoy the characters. I never developed a taste for Tessa's twin sister or their circle of friends. I found that relationship to be toxic if I am being honest, but Tessa and Myles kept me reading.

Overall I would give this one 3 stars. While I was not a fan of the first part of the book it did get better and I found myself not wanting to put it down so I could find out what happened between the two of them.

Not my favorite MQ but also not my least favorite.

Thank you to Montlake for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I first read Meghan Quinn last year and loved her, so I was so excited to read Vacation Wars.
I mostly really enjoyed this. The setting is beautiful (this will make you want to go on vacation ASAP!), the main characters are fun and the romance was wonderfully done.
My main issue I had was with the girl group. I didn't understand why they were harping on Tessa so much when it wasn't even her wedding. They all just seemed chatty and mean for no reason.
The ending had a bit of chaos but that's signature Quinn I think. It all worked out in the end and I had a good time reading the story.
Would definitely recommend as a beach or vacation read!

3.5 stars rounded up

Let me preface this by making it known that I'm a massive Meghan Quinn fan. I read A Not So Meet Cute and have been obsessed with her books ever since. I've read no less than 15 Meghan Quinn books but unfortunately Vacation Wars just didn't do it for me like the rest of Meghan Quinn's books have.

Let me start of with what I liked:

- I love Meghan Quinn's writing style. It's easy to read, easy to follow and just fun
- Meghan Quinn humor. I've said it once and I'll say it again, I consider Meghan Quinn to be the rom-com queen. This book is upbeat, fast paced and fun!
- The vacation setting in Greece. This made for a fun setting and I was super excited about it.
- Myles! I liked his character and his backstory. I liked his relationship with Tessa too!

Now for what I didn't personally love:
- The contract. I get this was supposed to be a fun plot device, but it turned me off from the story for some reason
- Clea, Roxanne, Lois. I usually love strong female friendships, but this was a bit much for me. I really really disliked Roxanne.
- For whatever reason, I didn't connect with this book as much as I normally do with Meghan Quinn's work.

Regardless, this was a fun read and I'm always up for another chance to read anything Meghan writes. A huge thank you to NetGalley, Meghan Quinn, and Montlake for the opportunity to read this ARC!

I love Meghan Quinn’s romances, but her traditionally published books usually lack a bit of something for me. That wasn’t the case here and I’m so happy that I enjoyed Vacation Wars! I felt like I was transported to Greece and living my best life. Definitely recommend!
