I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.

This is a cute little story about a young girl who really likes her neighborhood, but is very aware that her neighbors don't always get the same enjoyment from it. So she decides to write letters to her neighborhood describing what she loves about it and leaving them for neighbors to find. Every time a letter is found, it seems to brighten the day of the person who found it. Then one day Alice is the one who just isn't loving the way things are going, until she finds a letter someone else wrote, about why they love crocuses, and it brightens her day and inspires her to write even more letters.

The illustrations in this book are very bright, showing the neighborhood through all the seasons. They look almost like crayon drawings, having that kind of light crayoned appearance to them in places.

I'd be okay reading this book to kids a few times, but I probably wouldn't want to read it ALL the time (it might put ideas in the kids heads after all, and we wouldn't want that. LOL). Overall I give it 3.9 out of 5 stars.

Alice loves where she lives. She sees the beauty that surrounds her. But she often overhears others who are miserable in her favorite places. She writes and hides notes encouraging her surroundings and pointing out the beauty. When the notes are found positivity fills the person who reads it.

This books is a great reminder for all of us to live in the moment and see the good in things. It could be a start for a writing activity for older kids or the start of a nature walk for younger kids.

This was such a sweet and adorable book about finding beauty and joy where you live. I can't wait to buy a copy for my 1st Grade classroom. I will definitely be incorporating this into our unit on neighborhoods and communities. I'd love to bring the Love Lettering Project to our school. The concept and writing styles is lovely, and the illustrations are absolutely beautiful and pair well with the text.

I appreciate the opportunity to read and review this ARC, which was made possible by NetGalley and the publisher. Writing love notes to their towns and hiding them for random people to find them is such a fantastic idea. This book, in my opinion, is not only adorable but also gives kids a wonderful lesson in gratitude and love. This book was fantastic, and I highly suggest it to families with young children.

WOW 10/10 recommend. I can't wait to get a physical copy of this book. I absolutely love the message of this story. Follow Alice one little girl who tries to find love in things most adults see only the bad side of. Sometimes its not easy to find the positive sometimes it just takes sharing that joy with others. I love the concept of writing letters to your neighborhood or the area you live and leaving it where someone might find it. This would be such a fun thing to do with your children at home, or as a class experience.

I feel biased giving this book 5 stars, because it hits on one of my favorite topics- gratitude! Beautifully illustrated, this picture book tells the story of Alice. When Alice hears people grumbling about her street, she writes a letter about the things she loves and leaves it for someone else to find. Alice does this several times over the course of the year, spreading joy in her community. When Alice finds herself unable to stop from grumbling, she finds a letter someone else has written. A charming and easy read, I'm definitely requesting this one for my library to coordinate with our summer reading.

What an enchanting idea! Alice loves her street, and notices that lots of people who come and go in her neighbourhood are grumbling about something: the construction, the noise, the crowd, the fallen leaves, the cold, there's always something to grumble about. So she starts writing love letters to the street, the park, the maple trees and all the things that she loves, and she leaves these letters for unknown people to find them. And this makes all the change.

Fabulous colours and drawings!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Kids Can Press for an Advance Review Copy.

The concept of this book is really what drew me in and I have to say it did not disappoint!

Dear Street is a beautiful story that acts as a reminder to look at the bright side of things and remember that there is always plenty to love about your surroundings.

It focuses on our main character Alice as she goes through her everyday life and expresses her love for different parts of her street and neighborhood. However, not everyone feels the same. So, she decides to take matters into her own hands and starts leaving letters all around for people to find.

I love the rawness and pencil-color texture of the illustrations. The color palette is simply divine!
I find myself inspired by Alice's good nature and actions (not that anyone will see it, but it is at least evident in my journal entry for the day). It is not often as an adult that you think of the simple things around you that bring you joy; especially when it doesn't directly come from other people. I admire the sentiment and the message of showing appreciation towards your environment, even if it seems like you're the only one that feels this way.

Although the premise and real-life inspiration for the story are heartwarming, I feel it lacked slightly in depth. Maybe it is due to the shortness of the story but I wanted a bit more detail. This is, however, due to my expectations going into this book. To someone else, this could easily be a 5-star read.

oh, how I loved this story. What a powerful message to appreciate the little things around you. Sobbing! This is perfect not just for children, but for all ages, including adults. I loved the author's note in the end how she hid letters in her own neighborhood to things they love in the neighborhood and how it spread love in their community. This will make a great community project-I hope someone finds love, especially in these times. Everyone should do this.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the Arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.

What a lovely little book! I loved the illustrations and this neighborhood as we experience different seasons. I love that Alice writes letters to her street and others find them, and they help them love their neighborhood again. I love the idea of writing letters to things and places that we love and leaving them for others to find.

A great book!

Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!

Thank you to NetGalley, and the Publisher for the eARC! This is a cute story about a girl who loves her neighborhood. It teaches young readers to appreciate what is around you even among the chaos. We need to take the time to appreciate what is around us.

This was a really lovely book. The artwork and the story combine to deliver a wonderful message about seeing the good and beautiful things around us and then sharing that with others. I think that this book is worth adding to any reading list because it shows how the little things we do can influence and make those around us feel better. And I would definitely pick this up to read to a young or early reader as a way to introduce them to social consciousness.

I also think it's great that this book extends beyond the pages. I did go and look up the Love Lettering Project after I had finished the book and will be chatting about this with my daughter as something she may want to do with the children she takes care of and when she is substitute teaching. I think it's a great thing to do and is an excellent activity for anyone, but it seems really well suited to teaching.
