This is a very positive story that both enhances the story and makes it easier for younger children to relate to the text. It demonstrates that being an only child or one of several in a family can both have positive aspects. It addresses concerns expressed by many ‘only’ children in a positive way that will help them feel good about themselves but not at the expense of others who are in larger families.
