Absolutely obsessed with this book! I could not stop and got through it quickly! This book kept me guessing and wondering the entire time!! This is my first book by this author and they did an amazing job. I am so thankful to NetGalley for letting me read this early. The book releases January 12, 2023 and I recommend to anyone who loves thrillers and books with twists and turns!

This was quite a trip! Lots of twists throughout and I enjoyed the resolution. This was a very fast paced story. I kept trying to figure out the ending, to find the "bad guy", but the author managed to surprise me.

What was really interesting was that this was told in dual timelines. The present, told in first person from Kate's perspective, and the past, told in the third person.

BEST FRIENDS FOREVER is a thrilling story. Kate, the main character narrates, telling the story of her homecoming to care for her mother who had recently fallen and broken her hip. The plot unfolds as Kate tells of the events for which she ran from home so many years ago in alternating chapters (the event - the death of a friend, and the aftermath as she returns home).

Hollinger has well-developed characters throughout. This is one of those books you will not be able to put down once you start reading. It will have you guessing to the very end.

I listened to the audiobook version and loved the narrator.

I do have mixed feelings about this book and don't know where to place it. This is the story about Kate who witnessed her best friend Emma kill somebody.
Ten years later Kate comes back to her home town and tries to find out if Emma might be a serial killer.

This was a slow starter for me and it was hard to keep on listening.
Sometimes it had some YA vibe.

If you get a chance to listen to the audio of this one, I highly recommend it. I sped through the book, needing to know who the murderer was and when it came to the reveal, I was shocked to find myself so wrong! With a twisted storyline, interesting characters and short chapters, this thriller was fantastic.

I truly enjoyed Kate Handford’s narration of this book! Her character voices were spot on and I always knew who was speaking, which is important for me with an audiobook. The story itself, wow! I thought I had it all figured out pretty early on and certain twists I was close to guessing while others caught me completely off guard! I also really love unreliable narrators that you really want to believe even when they’re not sure what happened! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good mystery/psychological thriller.

I really enjoyed the pace of this book. This is a page turner type book if you enjoy a good thriller/suspense type novel. The ending of this book is one I didn’t see coming. I suspected everyone but the actual guilty individuals. I’d definitely recommend this book.

I found "Best Friends Forever" by Shannon Hollinger to be a real slow-starter. The book does pickup after the first third but it takes quite a while to get going. Overall a worthwhile listen if you have the patience but you have to wait for it to get going. Great ending that I did not see coming.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. The reviews for this book were rather high, but I did not find this book in the same regards as those reviewers. It was very slow. I ended up jumping ahead like 4 hours and then it got good. Could be a good book if she cut out some of the middle. The ending was def a shock! overall, very average.
