It started off strong with the male main character returning to his hometown and his first love. He wants to win her back but she's having none of it. - I think this would be a nice light/easy read for a young adult or someone who likes squeaky clean romance reads. The plot is also simple and easy to follow. For me, I like at least a little sizzle with some plot twists thrown in.

This book was pretty good and a fast read. Never felt like a chore. I've recommended it to a few people already

The fiction town of Boredeux, OH that Savannah Scott has created has absolutely captured my heart❤️ The nosy townsfolk, the meddling, the gossip… just EVERYTHING was chef’s kiss🤌🏼
“BattleShipped” follows Rob & Laura and their second chance love story. I can firmly say that I positively ADORED every moment of this romance. Let’s just say Rob knows how to WOW a woman🥹 From the foot massages to the fancy dinner dates that are literally a PLANE RIDE away, Rob knows how to sweep a woman off her feet (literally!!)😍
Romance aside, I just loved Rob’s career as an engineer and YouTuber! Reading about his unique contraptions and creations was super cool and made him a very interesting and unique romcom character🤩 The squirrel obstacle course was my favorite!!
If I haven’t been able to convince you to read this book yet, do it for the GOATS. I was listening to this audiobook while perusing a thrift store and got numerous quizzical looks thrown at me because I could not contain my laughter😅😩😂😂😂 Romcoms with troublesome animals will forever have my heart❤️
Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this romcom!! “BattleShipped” is book #2 in Savannah’s “Getting Shipped” series and I absolutely cannot wait to continue reading through it😍
🚨CW: this is a squeaky clean romance with super swoony kisses and no language!!

Battleshipped is the second in the Getting Shipped series by Savannah Scott. This was a fun, lighthearted second chance romance complete with sweet and funny moments and plenty of banter. Readers met Rob and Laura in the first book in the series and were given glimpses into their past relationship. It was fun to watch their relationship get rekindled as they ventured into a more mature relationship years later.
Although this story could be read as a standalone, I would recommend starting with book one as this book provides updates on characters from the first book.
I listened to the audiobook of this story and I thought it was very well done. I thought both narrators did an excellent job bringing the story to life.
Thank you to the Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for a copy of this audiobook. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

I love this cute little town and it’s quirky characters! Basically the town is spelled Bordeaux but pronounced bored-ox (yes the animal) and that’s the kind of humor you can expect from this one! This one lived up to the first one with another cute couple. I really enjoyed that they dated in high school and then broke up, I felt that was a different storyline that you don’t read a lot of.
This review has been added to Goodreads, Literal and Storygraph, as well as Barnes & Noble and Amazon. This will be posted to my instagram (@busywithmybooks_) within the week.
Thank you for allowing me to listen to this story!!

This was a miss for me. I found the story to be pretty bland, and the narration did nothing to enhance or make the characters more likable. Even the main character names were kinda boring. What was supposed to be small town “quirk” just read as awkward and not funny to me.

literally so cute! I really SHIPPED these two! see what I did there? I loved every second of it and I can't wait to read the 3rd book!

This 2nd chance romance from Savannah Scott was put together so well. I loved to see the relationship rebuild with Rob and Laura. I'm a huge fan of Lexi and Trevor so it was nice to be able to see more into their life as well.

I’m not typically a romance reader but I really do love the Shipped series. It’s so light hearted and sweet; it makes for a really good break from heavier reads! This installment was just as good as the first. The narrators are really perfect for this story and the series as a whole.

Ok you got me….
When I first started this audiobook I did not think I was going to finish it. Something about the writing in the first chapter, and the way it was read sounded very juvenile, but I stuck with it and was pleasantly surprised. I loved the story, I loved the characters, the snark, the banter. It was such a fun read and I’m glad I stuck it out. I will likely check out the rest of the Shipped series, it seems like a fun and lighthearted romance series to get in to.
Thank you net galley and the publishers for this copy in exchange for an honest review,

"Being stubborn is a virtue when your right. It's only a character flaw when your wrong."
First, I need a tee shirt with this epic quote on it. Second, Battleshipped by RomCom author Savannah Scott is a sweet second chance romance about learning to trust and following your heart.
This is book 2 in The Getting Shipped series. Book 1, Friendshipped, was a star review. All books take place in the small town of Bordeaux where Laura is the resident hairdresser at the Dippity Do Salon and Rob was her high school sweetheart. Instead of proposing he left her to go to college. Well, it's 6 years later, he's back as a successful inventor and YouTuber ala The Myth Buster's and he wants Laura back.
Like in the first book Amy McFadden and Will Damron are adorable as the narrators of this romance. Laura doesn't trust Rob to stay but Rob has some creative ideas to win her back...and yes, the nosy townsfolk are all back to give their opinions.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from Dreamscape Media via #NetGalley
for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

Thanks to NetGalley for the audiobook ARC of this book! I loved the narration.
Laura and Rob were high school sweethearts until he broke up with her because he was leaving and wanted to not be distracted. And thanks to his mom who doesn't really like Laura and thinks her son is too good for her and planting the idea that it's best to break up.
Years later and after Rob returns and Laura is a hairdresser at the Dippity Do he vows to do everything he can to get Laura back! She has this fear that he is way to good for her and that he will just leave again once he finds something better.
Do you think it will work? What stops do you think he will pull to show her he wants her?
Small town love. Second chances.
Definitely check it out. Get the audiobook and book and you can follow along as a second option if you wanted too.

Imagine high school sweethearts turn bitter frenemies (I guess that's the best way to describe them) finding out if they are able to give each other another chance. We have Rob who is a bit quirky realizes he still has feelings for his high school girlfriend Laura. Laura was broken up with on probably the worst day of her life and to say it's changed her outlook on dating does not do it justice. She realizes that she still likes her high school boyfriend but the idea of opening herself up to anyone let alone the one who broke her heart, that might be just too much.
Laura has such a full life but the one thing she is missing? Love. I really enjoyed this sweet and short story. I will say I wish we really got to the bottom of the relationship between Laura, Rob and his mom. There is so much going on there and we never really figure out hoe that gets solved. I know love conquers all but that is a pretty crazy dynamic. That being said I felt like this book had great character development and they feel pretty well rounded. Laura and Rob both have thought out careers and their family dynamics are brought up so it is not just their relationship that is developed. Love that!
I recommend this book to anyone who loves a second chance romance or a high school love story. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this story,

Like others, I love a good rom-com, especially as an audiobook. This is a cute story about loving your heritage in a small town and what can happen when you meet your soulmate in high school. It was lighthearted and entertaining, and I enjoyed the listen. The narrators did a great job giving voice to the characters. I did not find this to be a super complex or unique take on a rom-com, so if looking for that, then this might be one you pass on. However, I enjoyed learning about the characters and their journey. I did not realize that this was book #2 in the Shipped Series, but I think it can stand alone, as I did not read the others. I'm a bit confused by the title, as I'm still not sure how it relates to the story (I do get that all the books in the series have -shipped in the titles)?! All in all, if you are looking for a good lighthearted listen while driving or multitasking, then maybe check this one out! I know I will be checking out some of the other books in this series. Thanks to Savannah Scott, the publisher, Dreamscape Media, & NetGalley for the opportunity to review this ARC audiobook!

Sweet second chance romance book. I had moments that made me smile and laugh. I feel like this would be a good netflix movie. Has that small town setting, one party doesn't think they are good enough for the other. So if you like those type of sweet rom com's then this one is for you.

While Battle(shipped) by Savannah Scott can be read/listened to as a standalone, it is part of a series with character cross-over. I had already listened to Friend(shipped) which gave some context of the characters mentioned, and will continue with the series! This is a small town and second chance romance, and while the title eluded to enemies to lovers, I don't really get that from the story. If anything, it is lovers-to-friends-to-lovers. Definitely some laugh our loud moments in this sweet, clean romcom. The only complaint I have is the resolution and ending seemed a bit rushed for how repetitive some of the plot points were. Narration was fantastic.
Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this ALC!

Laura had her heart broken the summer after she graduated from high school. She had grown up in a small town in Ohio, Bordeaux, and she loved it. She didn’t want to leave. But her high school boyfriend Rob did. He wanted to go to MIT and study engineering. Laura knew that he was planning on leaving her for bigger and better things. But she wanted to spend as much time with him as possible before he leaves.
But that day, Laura had gone inside to find her mom really upset. There had been a lot of fighting between her and Laura’s dad lately, but that didn’t prepare her for what was about to happen. Her father had been away on a work trip, and he just made the announcement on the phone call that he’s not coming back. He’s leaving Laura and her mother for another woman. And then, on Laura’s date with Rob that night, he ends their relationship. He thinks that they are too young to stay in a long-term relationship while he’s at college. He wants them both to focus on their futures. Laura is devastated, but she lets him go.
Six years later, Laura has followed her dreams of becoming a hair stylist and is working at the Dippity Do. She has stayed in Bordeaux, and while she’s dated some here and there, she hasn’t found anyone she wanted to settle down with. She still has her heart pretty locked down from that day six years ago when her world fell apart.
But then Rob moves back to Bordeaux.
He’s not seeing anyone either, and while he’s certainly seen Laura around town, he hasn’t wanted to to insert himself back into her life. And then the rain poured down.
Laura came out of the Dippity Do that night with no umbrella. She’d grabbed a hair styling cape, but the wind whipped it out of her hands as soon as she stepped out of the shop. Rob had stepped up with an umbrella and walked her to her car. But then she realized she didn’t have her car keys—a friend had borrowed her car earlier and had forgotten to return them. So Rob gave her a ride to her apartment, over the garage at her aunt and uncle’s house. Since she didn’t have her keys, she couldn’t use them to get it, but she had hidden a key under the mat. Only, another friend had used that when she’d come over earlier needing a quiet place to work. She’d forgotten to replace the kay, and the rain was still coming down.
What choice did Rob have? He brought Laura to his house, so she could put on some dry clothes and get something to eat. She changed into some sweats while he warmed up leftover lasagna and made his special hot cocoa. After dinner, Rob drover her back to her apartment and he broke in, so she could get in and get some sleep.
But spending time around Laura has Rob thinking of how much he wants her back. He is a scientist, so he starts treating this project like an experiment, paying attention to the parts of the plan that work and adjusting the ones that don’t. But he knows it will be a monumental achievement to get past all those walls she’s put up, mostly because of him. Still, he is determined.
Laura, meanwhile, is delivered some bad news. Frieda, the owner of Dippity Do and Laura’s boss and mentor, almost a second mother to her, has to sell the stop. Her mother had a stroke, and she and her husband are moving to Florida to take care of her. Laura is heartbroken to lose her, and to possibly lose the shop. But Frieda tells her that if Laura can raise the money in the nest three months, she’d be happy to sell her the Dippity Do. Laura doesn’t have the money herself, but she and her friends come up with ideas for fundraising to try to save the salon before Frieda has to close it.
Laura has to make some big decisions about the rest of her life, but the biggest one, she finds, is that she needs to forgive those who had hurt her in the past, so she can move on to a better future. And that includes Rob. She can forgive him for breaking her heart back when she was a teenager. But if she lets him win over her heart again, and then leaves again for bigger and better things (because he’s the kind of guy who will be offered big opportunities), will Laura be able to forgive herself for giving him a second chance?
Battleshipped is the second book of Savannah Scott’s Getting Shipped series of rom coms. This enemies-to-friends love story has it all—social media influencers, YouTubers, science experiments, cocoa with secret ingredients, award-winning cupcakes, a bachelor auction, and a Midwestern-Thai fusion restaurant called O-Thai-O. It’s sweet, with lots of small-town charm and a true Midwestern heart.
I listened to the audiobook of Battleshipped, read in turns by Amy McFadden and Will Damron. I thought the voices fit the characters well, with Amy adding a little snark to Laura’s voice and Will adding thoughtful intelligence to Rob’s. I liked this book, but there were moments that I felt that the story was a little flat. While I liked these characters, I was wanting a story where I felt like there was more at stake for the leads. But it was sweet and enjoyable, perfect for a light read or a fun listen.
A copy of the audiobook for Battleshipped was provided by Dreamscape Media through NetGalley, but I also happened to catch a really good sale on the Kindle version on Amazon.

This book was just way to sugar sweet for my taste. The dialogue was so cutesy that it tended to grate on my nerves. It might have been better if I read it, I listened to the audiobook. I wasn’t a fan of the narration. I didn’t think the male narrator’s voice fit his character. I also didn’t understand why most characters other than the main ones had accents even though they were all from the same town. That nagged at me while I listened to the book. I also wasn’t a fan of the breaking of the 4th wall narration style found within the book. The spice level was PG-13 just a tick above “Halmark” appropriate. I didn’t enjoy the endless self deprecation of the FMC. How she was always saying that she wasn’t good enough, didn’t deserve him, he could do better….. Then in the end it all just seemed swept away.
Second chance romance
Small town romance

Battleshipped was sooo funny. I enjoyed the story between the two main characters. Small town romance and & second chance romance just go hand in hand for me. I feel like I’ve read so many books with those two tropes in it. But, I’m obsessed. The narrators did such a fantastic job and I really enjoyed listening to the story in one day. I couldn’t stop.
Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the early access to the audiobook.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
This was such a sweet and heartfelt romance novel. I loved the small town atmosphere in the novel. The characters were great and made me giggle throughout and I could not wait for them to figure out how to be together in the end.
