*Spoilers Ahead*
I am going to start by saying that this book was clearly not written for me. I was unaware that this was a "clean" romance which is fine just not what I had expected which is on me for not researching the author prior to reading. That was not my issue with the book. My issue was Rob. Quite literally everything about him made me angry. He breaks up with Laura before college and not unexpectedly he doesn't really have a conversation with her and leaves. I mean he's a teenager. Talking about feelings and having an adult conversation was not in the cards. Then he returns to town and consistently makes up excuses to be around her or to see her, instead of being an adult and actually having a conversation with her.
He treats her as if she is some experiment to figure out rather than a human being whose heart he broke and continues to rub salt in that wound by not leaving her alone! The man doesn't even apologize until half way through the book! Which is where I stopped listening.
Laura is facing real problems and struggling to find her footing and Rob is just off in lala land only focused on how to win her back just making Laura's already difficult situation even more difficult. But the thing that really set me off was the way his mom spoke about Laura IN FRONT OF HIM and he just sat there. Allegedly she is the woman you love and want to spend your life with but you're going to sit by while your mother berates her. And his mother doesn't even have a valid reason to not like Laura she just believes her to be beneath her son and not worthy of "his greatness." Ew.
And then the fact that on multiple occasions says that he hopes Laura will follow him when opportunity comes his way. "So he can fulfil his greatness" Ew again. It just shows that one he never learned from his mistake of breaking up and leaving her before and two he truly does not see her as a partner but someone who has to change her life and alter her career for his dreams...again.
Unfortunately I just couldn't continue listening. Laura go find yourself a man who loves you for you and will stand up for you and your relationship! Not someone who cant even have an adult conversation about his feelings for you and is so wrapped up in his own "greatness" he forgets about yours!

It’s official: I will read all of Savannah Scott’s books. She is the cleaner version of Colleen Hoover and I’m here for it!
Two broken hearts, one with an extra lock on it. After Rob broke up with Laura before leaving for college primarily because his mom put it all in his head. Laura has absolutely no trust in men due to her dad leaving her family at a young age and Rob leaving for college! Rob conveniently comes back and tries to steal her heart back with heroic extremes but at the end it was her father that helped out. In the end she realizes how important both men are in her life!

I really enjoyed this adorable small-town romance audiobook that focused on a down on her luck hairdresser and a loving engineer who have a second chance at romance. Battleshipped focuses on Laura, a hairdresser in a small town, that was broke up with my Rob, her high school sweetheart at one of the lowest points in her life, and how Rob uses all his resources and battles to regain the friendship and love that he and Laura once shared.
I love the voices used for this audiobook, I was little skeptical to start when you heard the cringey high school version of Laura's voice, but when it quickly progressed to "adult" voices, this became an easy, fun listen. The pace was great, and any book, especially an audiobook that has dual points of view is a gold star!
The banter between Rob and Laura was so fun to listen to, and I loved the interaction with all of the small town characters. If you are like me and haven't read book one in this series, don't worry the author makes it very easy to follow along and understand what is happening in this one!
I really enjoyed how this book brings in and focuses on different aspects of social media, including live blogging, going viral, YouTube channels and how putting yourself out to the world can lead to different adventures, even if these adventures keep one close to home.
Battleshipped focuses on making up for past mistakes, cute dates, hilarious small town mishaps, and an entire crew of side characters that will leave you in stitches. I rated this audiobook four stars.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC.

I'm rounding up this 3.5 star to a 4. I liked it a bit more than Friendshipped but it was still missing something for me.
This story can be read as a standalone, but Rob and Laura were introduced in the first book and we do see Trevor and Lexi quite a bit in this one. Rob and Laura were high school sweethearts until he decided to break things off right before going to college. It crushed Laura and caused her to build up walls around her heart. Rob comes back to town after college but sees that Laura is completely closed off so he gives her space until he just can't take it anymore. He's set on winning her back while also working on his popular YouTube channel that has some big opportunities coming.
The title threw me off because I expected more of a battle between them, but this was definitely a second-chance romance story. It still had that fun small-town vibe and closed-door romance. I liked the date auction scene and there were some funny moments throughout the story. I do feel like the pacing was a bit off and, this might be a "me" problem, but I think I missed how they resolved one of their big issues at the end. It felt rushed and I was confused for a second. I will continue with the rest of the series for now and we will see how those go!
I listened to an advanced copy of this audiobook. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media!

4.5 Stars, rounded up
I'm going to start this off by saying this book was the second in the series and I had no idea it was! With that said though, it read like a standalone. I have since found that the series has a different main character out of a friend group each book and follows them as they fall in love. I'm definitely going back and reading the first one!
I absolutely adored this book!! The main characters, Laura and Rob, are so cute and perfect for each other! I love a good second chance romance and this did not disappoint at all! The banter between them was perfection! A quick and easy read for sure!
I listened to the audiobook and loved it! The narrators (one for Laura and one for Rob) were great! They did a very good job and added well to the story.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

We are first introduced to these people in Friendshipped. And even from that beginning of them being secondary characters, I KNEW the book was going to be delicious! Second chance, scorned, longing from a far. It all reeled me in like the sucker I know I am! SO GOOD! And the audio is perfection!

Book 2 in the Getting Shipped! series. Works as a stand alone. Clean romance
Laura and Rob were high school sweethearts- until he broke her heart by breaking up with her right before leaving for college. Years later, she has still never loved anyone like she loved Rob, but she is angry. He is back, living in their home town of Bordeaux, Ohio (pronounced as "Boar-dox" lol) and she hates him. But pines for him. Rob has also never gotten over Laura and regrets breaking her heart. He decides it is time to woo her, but she is not quick to forgive him.
I enjoyed this one more than book one. And I laughed aloud several times. I love the old ladies of Bordeaux the most of all.
However, this book did feel repetitive. There is really basically one aspect of the plot that keeps getting rehashed over and over and over and over.
I listened to the audiobook. Amy McFadden and Will Damron are back. While I still think their is a speed discrepancy, it was no where near as noticeable as book one. I suppose it is due to Laura's personality, but Amy McFadden sounded a bit manic at times. I would choose the audiobook again, but those were just a few observations.
I received an advance audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

I wanted to read Rob and Laura's story after reading the first book in the series. I loved this second chance romance. Together as teenagers they went their own way after graduation. Now back in their hometown they realize they still have feelings for each other. I loved catching up with this friend group and can't wait to read the next one!

***Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
This was a somewhat bland romance. It interested me enough to finish it, but it did not wow me.

Yeah, I'm out. I can't spend 9 hours of "will they won't they" on a dude who still loves her, knows she still loves him, and doesn't make a move because even though he's the one who broke up sayaing "if we're meant to be together we'll find each other after college", has moved back to town and NEVER MADE A MOVE because he thinks he's respecting her feelings by waiting for her to come to him or some nonsense? 🤦🏻♀️
I hate you both. Stay broken up.
Dropped it at 10% because I just don't care to spend more time with them, and also the narrator's voice is annoying

adventurous, emotional, funny, hopeful, inspiring, lighthearted, reflective, fast-paced

I loved the books and the audiobook is so great too and I love being able to listen to the books the narrators are good give life to the characters and I'll definitely listen again

A small-town girl with abandonment issues and a guy destined for great things makes this second chance romance a precarious balance, but when you add in that both are still madly in love with each other, you are destined for a happily ever after! This is the second book in the series and I do recommend that you read or listen to them in order as the characters are all close friends who overlap and we see a continuation of the romance from the first book in this one. Lots of laughter, frustration and more ensue, but the sweet romance lovers will like this one as it isn't steamy, just sweet. I am enjoying this author and look forward to more of the series making their way to audiobook format!

Oh a second chance romance...you have my heart.
Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to read and review this audiobook.
Clean romance isn't usually my go-to but I'm loving this series and I cannot wait to continue it. These can be read stand-alone but they are all friends so their lives intertwine.
Laura and Rob are high school sweethearts and are making the best of their last summer together before college. One shopping trip with his awful mother and Rob is doubting everything he believes. A few days of stewing has him making the worst choice at the worst possible time. The day Laura's dad tells his family he isn't coming home is the day Rob breaks Laura's heart in the name of "they're young and don't know what the future holds". This perfect storm causes Laura to pick up a job at the local hair salon instead of leaving for college. Rob, not knowing the double whammy Laura just took heads off to MIT thinking he made the right choice.
A few years later Rob and Laura are trying to be friends enough to not make get togethers awkward. Rob knows he has made a mistake but thinks Laura won't ever give him another chance. Slowly he wears her down but that doesn't mean the drama is over. It takes a lot more to get to their HEA.

I requested a digital advanced readers copy from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media and providing my opinion voluntarily and unbiased.
My Thoughts: Savannah Scott is one of my favorite author’s! This is the second book in the Getting Shipped series. While this part of a series, it can be read as a standalone, characters do carry over from book to book, so it helps to read in order. I love the carry over, you get mini updates of the previous characters, Lexi and Trevor’s life. I have read books 1-2 and the last one. I am waiting out the other ones to come to audio. I absolutely LOVE this series! I will read anything Scott puts out, as part of her ARC group and Facebook Group, I am so grateful that I got regular interaction.
The story is narrated by Laura and Rob’s, in their perspective. Laura and Rob, what a push and pull relationship. Laura is strong, independent, and previously heartbroken. Rob is brilliant, a total flirt, and knows what he wants in life now. The supporting characters were fabulous, except for Rob’s mother, I did not like her character, but I am sure it was written just that way. I love how the book focuses on the now and not the previous relationship, except when necessary to fill in details. The small town gossip was true to form. I adored the contrast in their careers and the love they shared. The descriptions were so detailed, that you felt like you were there in Bordeaux, and want to visit there. The characters were fleshed out well, with depth, witty banter, hot chemistry, and creatively built. The author’s writing style was complex, multifaceted, humorous, steamy, swoony, and brilliant.
The narrators McFadden and Damron was absolutely fabulous, really brought the characters to life, immersing you into Bordeaux, Ohio. I am really loving this series and I cannot wait to read Aiden/Mallory’s and then Shannon/Duke’s story. I just love this small town and so wish I could visit. I highly recommend picking up the audiobook right now.

This was the first book of Savannah Scott's I have picked up. She has been on my list for awhile now, but I hadn't gotten to them yet. The story was great. I loved a second chance story between these two, Rob and Laura. The twist at the end with the salon was so unexpected, but lovely and healing. It was great to see that final bit of healing for Laura and discovery for Rob as the book went on.
What I loved about this narration though was the two narrators. Sometimes, when there are two narrators it can throw off my concentration of the story as I adjust to the new person, but this one was seamless. I felt they actually fit the characters they were reading for, but they also did a great job reading the other main characters lines during their chapters.
This narration made me want to pluck up all of Savannah's books in this series and gobble them up. I may not be able to get them all in audio, but if the audio here is any indication of how great the story is (which it was amazing), I know I will love each one.
Well done.
4 solid stars

Getting Shipped #2
Savannah Scott
Laura and Rob were high school sweethearts until he broke her heart. He was going away to college; they were too young to be serious. On the same day her father left her and her mother. Laura was heartbroken; she had to put up a good front in front of their friends. Six years later Rob is back in town. Laura does her best to dodge him, but he keeps showing up. He realizes he made a big mistake; he was in love with Laura and was determined to win her back no matter what it takes. Laura is just as determined to protect her heart.
Rob is a brilliant scientist and a famous YouTuber; Laura is sure he will just leave again. Rob’s mother never thought Laura was good enough for her son and makes a point to come into Laura’s beauty shop to tell her.
This is the second book in the Getting Shipped series. The first book featured Lexi and Trevor, who also play a large part in this tale. This is a second chance romance tale. Much of it is predictable but that didn’t stop me from enjoying it. It was obvious from the beginning that Rob and Laura still loved each other but he had to convince her to give him another chance. The characters were all likable except Rob’s mother. Rob was the perfect man, sweet, patient, good looking and willing to do anything. Laura was interesting. It felt as if Rob was forced to make all the compromises. There were sparks between Laura and Rob. All in all this is a very cute romance.

I was very lucky to receive a free copy of this audiobook, but it just wasn't for me. It was technically a 2.5 star book for me based on the average of my judging sections: writing style (4 stars), relatability (2 stars), originality (2 stars), readability (3 stars), personal impact (2 stars), and plot (2 stars). I didn't think this book was well executed and it was very cliché in my eyes. There wasn't anything special about it. I did love how strong and independent Laura was and how sweet Aiden was, but I found Rob to be creepy and pushy through most of the book. I also thought the prologue and chapter one were semi juvenile in their writing, otherwise the writing style would've been 5 stars as I loved the POV switching. I also thought 6 pop culture references in every chapter was excessive. I did, however, enjoy the storyline written for the salon!

I don't think I'll be continuing this series. It's just not what I'm looking for. The storylines are just too bland for me. I don't feel like I really get to know the characters and I didn't like the situations they were put in.

I got an ARC of the audiobook for an honest review. I really enjoyed the narrators. They did a great job with each main characters' POV.
I really liked the first book in this series but was a little disappointed that I wasn't as drawn in to this story as much. I'm not sure if it was the pacing of the story or if Laura and Rob were drawn together romantically so quickly that didn't quite click for me. I loved getting to hear about characters from Friendshipped again! But if you're looking for an easy, cute, sweet listen/read, it was good.
