I just read the first installment in this series a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it. I really like the whole small town, sweet second chance romance. Laura and Rob were high school sweethearts, but he broke her heart around the time of graduation. He moves away to pursue his dreams as he is basically a genius and Laura is a small-town gal that wants to work at the town's hair salon. When Rob returns, he can't deny their chemistry or his feelings that never went away. Laura can't either, but she doesn't want anyone to know. I liked Laura and Rob and enjoyed the extra cast of characters. I would've liked to have seen a tiny bit more 'will they or won't they' in terms of them getting back together. However, this was an enjoyable read and I would definitely read the 3rd book in this series. If you are looking for something light and cozy this is a good pick!

I really enjoyed this one and liked the characters a lot.
However I wasn’t really satisfied with this second chance romance.
I did like the characters a lot but for me there were too many at points and I absolutely couldn’t remember someone who didn’t show up as often.
I did listen to an audiobook so that could absolutely be because of that but well.

Rob was absolutely delightful and the way he fought for Laura was great. However Laura annoyed me some times. And her not communicating with Rob didn’t help at all.

All in all I really enjoyed this story!

Thank you to NetGalley for this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

4/5

Thank you Dreamscape Media for the advanced listening copy!

Laura has never really forgiven her high school boyfriend, Rob, for breaking her heart six years ago when he went off to college MIT, leaving her in their small town to become a hair dresser. The disdain Laura holds for Rob is becoming harder to manage, however, as they still run in the same circles and Rob is doing anything he can to get Laura back. Will Laura forgive Rob for his past mistakes? And, more importantly, is she willing to open up her heart and potentially get hurt once again? Only time will tell...

This second-chance, small town romance with a hint of enemies to lovers is just as adorable as it sounds. Complete with dual POV's, supportive best friends on both sides, and a sweet love story, this is going to make you want to forgive all of your exes (though, I generally don't recommend this). The only reason it isn't 4/5 is I felt certain parts dragged a bit and I do NOT do well when characters act based on assumptions (as happens in many romances) and this included a bit of that misunderstanding. Overall, though, this was adorable and I definitely want to take a look at the rest of the "shipped" series!

This book had no business being as cute as it is! I was expecting a cheese rom-com from the cover but it ended up being more complex than that! This was a really delightful second chance romance where the adults dealt with some real life problems which is sometimes missing in rom-coms!

The narrators also did a fantastic job!

Also - I have not read the first book of the series (but definitely intend to) - but did not have any problem following this book!

Cute story. Realistic and relatable characters. Love the smell town setting. Especially the older characters. Great narrators.

Before I talk about how great this book is I want to get a small thing out of the way: this book is has extremely little to do with a Battle. I do not understand the title. It just seems like silly marketing in order to get have the series of books have similar titles.

However, this book is a perfect comfort read or comfort listen if you choose to listen to the audiobook.

The series picks up from the first book (Friendshipped) and explores Rob’s relationship with Laura. Although I read them in order, you could probably read this book without reading the first one. Rob is a super smart yotube and MIT grad who lives in a small town. Many expect him to leave in order to pursue his passion. Laura is a small town hair dresser whose salon might go out of business. Rob is determined to get Laura back in his life and win her back. He even has a scientific whiteboard to plan it out. However, Laura assumes that he will eventually leave again to pursue bigger and better things not available in the small town.

This book is full of witty writing and adorable and believable characters. This second chance romance was a little predictable but it was definitely worth reading.

Enjoyable read. I fell in love with the whole town. Makes me miss living in a small town.
I listened to this on audio and loved the narrators. I was especially happy that they switched between a male and female narrator.
There were a few twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting. The ending was satisfying and the romance was PG so I enjoyed it very much.

Battleshipped by Savanna Scott

This is books 2 of the Getting Shipped series. I enjoyed book one and books two fell right into place for me. In this one we meet Laura and Rob. Six years ago, one dreadful day left Laura with two blindsides: her father leaving and Rob ending their relationship. Since then, Rob is no longer the man she loves but the man she actively avoids. Well, as much as she can in Bordeaux, a town of 2500 people. But Rob is on a mission to win back his girl, one act of kindness at a time.

I felt the story was fast paced but at times felt a little repetitive with the banter between Rob and Laura. This is a second chance romance in a small town setting. Rob really tries hard to woo Laura back into his arms but Laura is so gun shy will he succeed in winning her back? Will Laura be able to save the Dippty Do hair salon? So much happening that makes the pages turn fast and the story flowing.

For people who love second chance romance and small town setting this book will be for you. You will enjoy how fast it goes. I do recommend reading the first book to get a little bit of information about this couple because they are good friends with the couple in the first book. I cannot wait to read more from this author in the future.

The story was narrated by Amy McFadden and Will Damron. I enjoy there narration of the story. It was easy to listen too and follow along. I felt like I really was listening to the couple bantering back in forth in real life.

“Rob’s like a pebble in my show rubbing and making me notice him when all I want to do is move forward. I need to take the shoe off, shake it out and be free of the little lump hat won’t stop poking at me in tender places.”

I read BattleShipped last year and was so excited when I found out the audio-book was releasing! I had forgotten how much I loved Rob and Laura’s story.

BattleShipped is a sweet second-chance romance set in the quirky little town of Bordeaux, Ohio. It’s the second book in Savannah Scott's GettingShipped series and is a must read (or must listen) for fans of clean rom-coms.

The audio-book is dual point of view with both a male and female narrator. I love when audio-books have both, it makes the story much more enjoyable. Both narrators did a great job and really brought the story to life.

Rob and Laura had been high school sweethearts, but then Rob broke up with Laura and moved away.
Rob doesn't like it that Laura never fought for their relationship, just letting him walk away, but Rob doesn't know what Laura had already been through.

This is a great second chance romance with lovable characters that have you rooting for them from the very beginning. I love Rob's approach to winning Laura back.

This is a clean, closed-door romcom that doesn't skimp on sweet and swoony kisses.

I'm still trying to figure out if what threw me off was the writing or the narrator. I'll maybe try and give this a second chance later on. I tried. Just the whole Fifth Harmony part in the prologue was too much. I usually do not mind pop culture references in books, but this one is just too much.

Thank you so much NetGalley for the audiobook version of this book.

While I'm not a huge fan of second chance romance, this one was good. My only complaint is I wasn't a huge fan of the narrator's voice for the characters.

This book is honestly adorable.

I love a second chance romance & this one was no different!
Rob & Laura are high school sweethearts until Rob blindsides her before leaving for college. Laura is working to own the salon she is currently working at so it doesn’t close and Rob is a youtuber hoping to make the big time in his field.

This story isn’t super deep or spicy, but it was a sweet and quick read. Definitely a palate cleanser.

I was laughing, sad and angry throughout the entire book. I would definitely recommend & continue on in the series!

This was a great second-chance romance, mostly because their earlier "failure" wasn't really a failure on either of their parts. It was just that one left a small town to go off to college and the other stayed home. And someone's mother convinced him it would be better to end things (hoping he'd find someone different) than to try to make a long-distance relationship work at such a young age.

Yes, the timing couldn't have been worse! Rob had no idea that Laura's father had just left her family that same afternoon. Or that having both of the important men in her life leave her at the same time would shut her heart fast to ever being hurt by another man again.

So, when he returned years later, he has an uphill climb ahead of him. But seeing Laura only reminds him how much he has missed his best friend. So he determines to win her back, but in her time and on her terms.

I loved the gentle care he took to continually show that he cares for her, that he's there for her. Instead of barreling in and trying to tear down the wall she's erected to preserve her heart, he acknowledged his role in building those walls and that he was going to have to earn back the right to be in her life.

Very well done and the narrators were wonderful!

Thank you to Savannah Scott, DreamScape Media and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

I've have really been enjoying the (shipped) series. I liked Court(shipped) and loved Friend(shipped). Battle(shipped) was good also. I enjoyed learning more about Rob in particular. It's cute and sweet... Just what I needed! Town(shipped) here I come!

EDITED TO ADD: I was given a copy of the audiobook by Dreamscape and Netgalley. I'd been wanting to listen to these books as soon as I read them. I love audiobooks and feel that this one was done very well. It has dual narrators that are excellent! Highly recommend listening if you don't have time to read or are just like me and prefer audio!

This is Rob and Laura's story. They are high school sweethearts who plan on being together forever, but when the time comes Rob breaks up with Laura when he leaves to go to MIT and Laura is staying home to become a hairdresser. Six years later, Rob is back home and wants to win Laura back. She is so sure he will leave town again to pursue his big dreams. She finally lets him back in, but the hair salon is being sold and Rob gets a dream job offer in California. What will they do?

What happens when the life you have planned in your head blows up in single sentence? That was what happened to Laura as Rob saunters away with “let’s be friends” as his last words to her. She is left bereft and emotionally devastated. He leaves and she is left alone to pick up the pieces and create a whole new life for herself without him all while building up a fortress around her heart. Her friends and the town rally around her as thats what friends do. He returns to their small town and is determined to win her back because he finally realizes how much he misses her and how much better his world was with her in it. She must be over the callous way he left her in the dust right? Though I didn’t think he deserved to have her back there is the eventual reconciliation and HEA. It was a sweet’ish road to their HEA with some small town shenanigans and nosiness along the way. I enjoyed the dual narration.

Thank you so much to @netgalley
@dreamscape_media and @savannahscott_author for this #gifted copy!
Another hit from Savannah Scott! This is the 2nd book in the series of closed door/sweet romances. Everyone knows I love my spice, and it's a rare occasion when I actually enjoy a clean romance, but this series is giving me so much joy!
Something else to point out, this is a second chance romance, which I normally don't pick first (because it obviously didn't work out the first time for a reason, right?). BUT this one was done really well, there wasn't a toxic behavior or loss of love to make them break up the first time, so this reunion was one I was rooting for.
This copy was the audiobook version and I think the narrators knock it out of the park, both very well done.
Im really hoping the rest of the series will be available on audiobook so I can continue reviewing the series that way. If not, I'll definitely be snagging the ebooks (which I believe are all available on KU)!

These narrators are some of my favorites. I love listening to them narrate books.

I enjoyed this standalone that is a part of Getting Shipped series. I absolutely love when the story continues with new main characters but we see snippets of what the previous characters are up to. This story revolves around Laura and Rob, who dated in high school and are getting a second chance.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape media for a copy of this audiobook. This is my honest voluntary review.

You ever have the “one that got away?” The one person that you had in your life you just couldn’t get out of your system?
This small town romcom is about that one relationship that haunts you. High school sweethearts turned enemies. This is their story. Will they won’t they?
This is the second book in this series. So far I have enjoyed both. I like how the characters are all a part of each book. It really allows you to get a understanding of each couple.
The same narrator was used and she really brought the story to life. The Author brought all of the emotion, drama, and love to make this story captivating. I can’t wait to read the result of this series!!
